With the main event taking a toil, all the focus shifts to the co-main event where the former lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira will be facing BeneilDariush to determine the next No.1 contender at 155. Oliveira hasn’t fought since losing out to Islam Makhachev last October. But the ‘Do Bronx’ is confident ahead of his matchup with Dariush at UFC 289.
With Oliveira looking to make amends, Dariush is eager to get a title shot as well. The 34-year-old is currently enjoying an eight-fight winning streak and is confident to do better against the Brazilian submission artist. The matchmakers have got Dariushfavorite for the fight but the Iranian-American knows he has got a hill to climb to.
Both fighters also had a word or two before the encounter. Oliveira vows to take Dariush to deep waters and set up a rematch against his fellow lightweight competitor, Islam Makhachev later this year. But Darisuh has other plans in store for him as he feels one fight away from his long-awaited run at the championship of the division.

2023.06.10 19:15 SeriousAssignment513 Curse of Torog

So last night my players made it to the Wailing Statue in Betrayers’ Rise. The descended into the chamber thanks to the blood wizards feather fall. When they landed ALL 4 of the PCs failed their charisma saves. So all 4 wanted to kill each other. The wizard failed the worst, so I had him make a surprise round. Which was of course fireball. The party hadn’t rested since the spider chamber and the hall of chains. They weren’t in deaths door, but they were low on spell slots and other abilities. The tempest cleric and armorer artificer failed their Dex saves for the fireball. The gunslinger fighter succeeded. Then combat starter. The fighter had top initiative and immediately made their save from the curse. They made a run to get behind one of the arms of torog and used their action to hide. I’m fuzzy on the initiative order at this point but here’s the highlights. The cleric used her highest level spell slot to shoot a guiding bolt at the wizard, but the wizard counter spelled. The artificer, with no more spell slots left, used his lightning launchers on the wizard as well. Doing some damage. Now for the wizard… That fireball was his last 3rd level spell slot, BUT, when he decided to play a blood wizard, we looked up some homebrew blood spells. One being Living Bomb. Basically it causes the target blood to explode. Pretty cool. The only thing is…when the target is reduced to 0 hit points as a result of Living Bomb, the creature explodes. So the wizard targets the artificer with Living Bomb. Artificer fails the save and is reduced to 0 hit points. Now, I’m all for a brutal game, BUT I don’t particularly love it when my players die. But I didn’t want to just wave off the wizards spell. So I had the artificer make an arcana check against the wizard spell DC which was 15. Artificer rolled a 7 on the dice. + 8 for his arcana. 15. Meets it beats it. So instead of the artificer exploding, I had his Arcane Armor be the target of the spell, destroying the armor. Which for the artificer was still a big deal. And the wizard thought it was awesome. Another part of the Living Bomb is that the explosion deals damage to nearby creatures. That damage drops the cleric.
Next round. The fighter runs out and makes a medicine check on the cleric, stabilizing her. The artificer (who I decided was left with 1 hp) succeeded in his check to no longer be cursed. He ran back and used cure wounds on the cleric. The cleric then used Hold Person on the wizard, buying them some time. Next round, the artificer runs up the wizard yelling at him to snap out of it, making non lethal attacks with his +1 dagger, trying to not him out. The wizards turn. I makes another save to break free of the curse. Fails. Looks at the artificer and says(out of character) sorry. He casts Living Bomb once more. The artificer had 1 hp. I asked him what was the last thing he says, thinks, hears, or feels. The quick version. He says the the wizard, “Find peace, friend.” And is turned into red mess.
The wizard doesn’t know it, but he was consecuted by the Luxon. In his past life he was the chosen spouse of Vesh, the Bloody Siren. (Like Brother Kash from CR campaign 1) Time stops momentarily as the artificer is exploding. The wizard sees the silhouette of Vesh dancing in the blood fountain that was once the artificer.
All in all a very fun session. The artificer thought it was a hell of a way to go and is excited about his new character.

2023.06.10 19:13 BloodRavenStoleMyCar Wizard should never have been a 5e class

3.5 was out for what, four years? And in that time they fixed fighterogue/barbarian etc being boring and crap by implementing replacement classes that played better and more interestingly without being too strong. Imagine going nine years and still somehow leaving non spellcasters to say 'I guess I make another basic weapon attack' every turn for entire campaigns.
Point is, they also realised the reverse of wizards being way too good (sounds familiar, right?) and made balanced and fun replacement classes there, too. You had the beguiler with enchantments and illusions (not saying 5e needs these exact classes, bard sits in that niche now), warmages with the more offensive conjurations and evocations and dread necromancers with... I'll let you take a wild guess what they did.
Point is, magic is way too broad for one character to access every school. If there was a martial equivalent to being able to fly, control minds, summon monsters, teleport, make illusions, raise the dead, throw fireballs and dispel magic it'd be a fightpalroguebarianger and everyone would be saying sneak attack and rage need to be entirely different classes. Well, they did that fifteen years ago and it worked great. Dread necromancers were fun and strong without ever being too strong because they had a niche, not every niche. Kinds weird that that design lesson got forgotten.

2023.06.10 19:04 RatsWithGuns [Online][5E][LGBTQ friendly][Everyone friendly][BST] NEW PLAYERS ONLY GAME!! Im looking for people who have not played DnD before

Hello!! Im Alora and i am a DM of about 2-3 years who wants to help people get into this game which for me was like scary as hell to approach. I am offering a campaign where we will play from levels 1 to 5 to get everyone acquainted with DnD and then once we finish that i will happily continue that game onwards or start a new game fresh for us to go all the way to the end. This group will hopefully also work as a community as i love running game or movie nights for my players to get us all comfortable with each other.
About me!! Well Im a trans girl from the UK who really loves dnd and helping new people get into it. I have even been working on a whole different system based around fallout and Xcom which is at like 60% completion. Other then all that i own 8 cats and thats about all you need to know about me!!
The actual game will most likely be one of the pre existing modules for DnD specificly one of em that goes from 1-5 so dragon heist, lost mines of phandelver or dragon of icepeak spire. Now i am also down to go homebrew but for a starters game i am not planning on that as i go quite hard with the new rules and mechanics.
TIMES: 6pm bst - 9 or 10pm bst fridays (we can go shorter at first if the group wishes)
Wowie!! It seems like you read all that and still want to join!! (or you just looked down to where the fancy blue link was) but regardless heres application for you to fill out so i can pick out who i like best

Hello, and welcome! I'm looking for one more player for a campaign I'm going to be starting soon in Rastelaria, a homebrew setting of my own creation.

About the Setting:

This will be a sandbox campaign, and although there will be events happening in the world, you are free to interact with them or ignore them completely--but those events aren't going to just wait for you to show up. If you choose to ignore them, they'll happen without you.

About Me as a DM:

What I'm Looking for in a Player:

Character Creation Rules:

If all of that sounds interesting to you, please fill out this application. If I read your application and think you might be a good fit, I will reach out to you via Discord for an interview. Once I find the right person, I will close this post. I'm hoping to have Session Zero potentially as early as this coming Monday, so if you don't hear from me by then, I'm very sorry.
Thanks for reading!

2023.06.10 18:09 Godispurpl Tattoo Design Help

So I’ve struggled to get a tattoo idea of mine sketched up and I’m hoping someone might be able to help here. It’s important to me but I lack the ability to properly create what’s in my head.
The idea is to have an anthropomorphic three leave clover that’s wrapping it’s hands (like a bare-knuckle boxing fighter type of look). It would have a snarl and teeth knocked out with bruises and cuts and a black eye like it got beat to hell. Underneath it would say “Lucky Enough”. New school style of tattoo makes sense for this but I can see it also fitting in with lots of other styles as well.
I’m not sure really if the clover would have two leaves as hands or separate hands? I don’t think it would have legs, or at least would just be “waist-up” so to speak. I feel so dumb to know in my head what it looks like but unable to guide my artists articulately to it.
I really want to be able to make this idea come to life, please tell me if I’m being too vague or can give more to the idea.
Thank you everyone for the help!

2023.06.10 17:28 BlueStarDraco [Online][5E]New(ish) player looking to play

Howdy yall!
I’ve been looking to join a 5E game, whether it’s one just starting to form or one that’s been ongoing.
A little about me, I go by Ren and I’m 20M. My time zone is EST and I’m quite a night owl. I enjoy other hobbies such as games, dancing, and music!
My experience with DnD consist of a beginner one shot, and a campaign I’m currently in that started last month. For tools used I have tabletop simulator and some experience with Roll20.
When it comes to what I’m looking for is a long term campaign I could be apart of. In the game itself really just a solid mix of Combat and Roleplay is good for me, I just want to explore all that can be offered and have a good time with everyone else! I have a character I’ve been wanting to play, a Tabaxi Bard.
I’m available all day Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I am also available on Tuesdays but become busy after 9 PM.
I think that should be everything, if you need more additional info or have questions feel free to ask, and if I look like a good fit for your group send a reply or shoot me a message!
Thanks for reading!

2023.06.10 17:27 RAINING_DAYS [Offline][5e] [LGBTQ+ friendly] Seattle DnD - Looking for DM/player for twenty-somethings group.

Hey,
I'm already running a campaign, but this is an outreach to see if anyone is interested in being a DM and bringing along a person or two. The friends I'm with are queer. Overall, I'd prefer to be a group of younger people as I've been bitten in the ass before for having and playing with some older folks.
Send a message if you're interested, thanks.

2023.06.10 17:23 Emps42 Tortle circle of spore druid, need advice for lvl 4

title. i just got to lvl 4 in our campaign and i need some advice on either a feat or just getting a couple of points into wis as well as a new cantrip. i manually rolled my stats, we were given free feat when we started the campaign so i took Warcaster as i was basically front lining. also still relearning dnd again after almost a decade of being not active in playing it. so please be thorough and don't expect me to know or understand some things. i am campaigning in a woods/dungeon environment where food and survival play a large part in it. with a halfling ranger, eldarin sorcerer, and a Goliath fighter all lvl 4. The feats I was looking to use were polearm master, sentinel, and skilled or skilled expert. if you have any advice for me for a new feat, cantrip, or multiclass dip please explain why, thank you in advance.

2023.06.10 16:30 Sorin_4 DnD 5E WISH

Is there any way, to cast wish but withouth having the negative effects and the malus it provides?
-The stress of casting this spell to produce any effect other than duplicating another spell weakens you. After enduring that stress, each time you cast a spell until you finish a long rest, you take 1d10 necrotic damage per level of that spell. This damage can't be reduced or prevented in any way.
In addition, your Strength drops to 3, if it isn't 3 or lower already, for 2d4 days. For each of those days that you spend resting and doing nothing more than light activity, your remaining recovery time decreases by 2 days.
-Finally, there is a 33 percent chance that you are unable to cast wish ever again if you suffer this stress.
I want to use the Summoning Terrasque scroll and then control it with WISH but I can't afford to dont cast spells or do anything for the rest of the combat, the question comes here, is there anyway, with a magic item or any other tricky way to cast it without becoming useless?

2023.06.10 16:14 Lepiberic In what way fo you think can martials be buffed to reduce the infamous martial-caster gap?

Recently I've gone through quite a few discussions about martials in 5e being less competent and useful to party than summons. Although I definitely don't agree with that statement completely and I understand that some of the arguments are too exaggerated due to flimsy rules interpretation or just for comic effect, I do acknowledge that the gap itself exists.
Currently I'm running a pretty gritty campaign with 7 days long rest, very scarce magic items and around 3-4 encounters per week, and my players are loving it so far. Especially fighter and warlock. For now they were just having fun from the challenge and didn't know about the gap before I brought it up after the internet discussion. We agreed that despite subjective fun it may be a good Idea to give non-spellcasters something to add some variety and a buff. So at the last session I introduced the "Mighty deed" to my martials. So far it goes great although such murky boundaries are somewhat a drawback.
Right now I'm writing a homebrew that aims mostly for the martials. I already came up with one mechanic ( if I can call it that) . It is pretty simple in its Idea and basically just gives a few free feats in and out of combat. And now I'm in the middle of reworking weapon proficiency which now will gradually grant you passive buffs and active maneuvers for the weapon you use. But I can’t say that I’m fully satisfied with my solutions.
Today I've seen a little discussion involving forcecage and sickening radiance. I know that dnd isn't a solo or, god forbid, a pvp game, but combinations like this make me think, what can you give to a human that just swings a pointy stick to overcome that? I mean within something that can fit within your fantasy warrior virtues (or maybe even some anime swordsman abilities) and technically still won't count as magic.
I know the easy answers for all of my questions here are: 1) Give them magic items or 2) Try the new system.
But 1) magic items are fully on dm discretion, you still should give some to casters too and they don't feel like personal power (unless you are an artificer). Even the books say that everyone is balanced without them in mind.
2) My party and I are pretty pleased and comfy in 5e, we barely use any homebrew and even one I'm writing now is mostly for myself (Also for some reason sorcerer and his wife are really against pathfinder).
I'm just curious what Ideas are there in the air about solving this problem and not just discussing its existence. What step should the next edition take to solve it? And what I may be missing here? You know, just to spur a friendly discussion.
Oh and I can't deny going on reddit and reading how weak and useless my player's beloved character should feel just due to them being martials is giving me... a guilt that I don't do something about it as a DM.
TL;DR Sorry, I tend to be wordy. Main question is in the title. And the second optional question is "What can be homebrewed for a man with a pointy stick that won't feel as magic and allow him to go on par with a bladesinger who has forcecage/sick radiance or other high level spells/combinations?".

2023.06.10 15:51 Resevil67 Newer Diablo player. How is this build? Any recommendations?

Originally i was going to follow a build guide, but I decided against it and wanted to make my own thing first as I am leveling due to how flexible the game is at letting you change your build.
I’m currently running a stun/bleed walking arsenal type build that uses iron skin and rupture to also help with survivability and quicker kills on bosses. My current skill points are in:
-frenzy 2/5 with enhanced and combat frenzy -Lucky hit 2/3 -Upheavel 2/5 with enhanced and violent upheaval -Rend 1/5 Iron skin 2/5 with enhanced and tactical iron skin -imposing presence 3/3 -rupture 2/5 with enhanced and fighters rupture -1/5 thick skin -iron maelstrom with both prime and supreme unlocked -wallop 1/3 and concussion 3/3
So far the play style is to use frenzy to build fury as well as get the 24 percent damage reduction with all 3 stacks. Rend is used at close to inflict bleed damage and to do more damage with rupture. I’m planning on putting points into the skills that cause bleed to slow enemies, which works with the latter part of the strategy. Also to upgrade rend more.
When my go starts getting under half, I pop an iron skin to stay in close and regain some hp. This also works well with rupture because rupture gives you hp as long as it connects. After iron skin runs down I back off and use upheaval. I have my hammer selected with upheaval, which should make it work with the concussion passive, as well as upheaval also having 20 percent stun (I know they don’t stack, but if one chance fails there’s still the other chance to roll a stun).
Depending on my hp situation, I was use the berserk from upheaval to dart back in and use rend or my ultimate skill, if I’m low I’ll use the increased movement speed to back off and wait for iron skins low cool down to end to pop it again. This build also uses all 3 wep types, so I’m constantly regaining the cool down of iron maelstrom faster. I’m planning to spec into walking arsenal when I unlock the node.
Any advice? Is this a decent build or am I wasting my time and it will fall off on higher content? I’m currently level 30 so I have a long way to go lol.
