Voodoo Bizango -new forks suggestions?
2023.03.29 15:27 arranmore72 Voodoo Bizango -new forks suggestions?
Hi,I'm only mountain biking about 2 years and it's really only a bit of a hobby for me and my friend. We don't take it that serious but enjoy the spins. We go out maybe twice a month when weather is good(live in Ireland )Anyway I have my voodoo Bizango 2 years now and just got it serviced....however my local bike store can't service the Suntour forks and suspension. They don't have the tools for it,neither does the other bike store where I live. My only option is to post the forks off to a place in Dublin or Belfast and they'll service them and post them back. That's gonna cost over €100 so I'm thinking am 8 better off just getting a set of Rockshox? Both bike stores service them. They guy in my store said I could get a set of Rockshox for about €200. So am I better off going with Rockshox? Will it affect the ride? Improve it or make it worse? Finally ,can someone recommend a set of good value Rockshox for around my budget? I might be able to get them a little cheaper on the net. Thanks,as I said I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to these things!

2023.03.29 15:25 Hobbs42 Remote Pro - Programable Buttons Question
Amazon Remote Pro issue. I've reviewed this forum and know that "The last three voice commands used and the last (or currently open) app, will appear in the side panel as available shortcut options." when trying to program Button 1 or Button 2. When I first got the remote, I remember being able to do this. But lately, my prior voice commands do not show up as an option when trying to select what I want the buttons to do. I only have the option to assign the last app launched and the other standard menu options - but no option to assign recent Alexa instructions provided.
I want to assign Button 1 to switch to Antenna for OTA tv. I want to assign Button 2 to show my Recast recordings. When I give Alexa those verbal instructions, it executes the command with no problems. I've tested several innocuous verbal commands (trying both the remote Alexa button and the commands to the Fire Cube directly) like "Show the Weather," "Show Options," "Show My Stuff" but none of the instructions show up as recent activity when trying to Program Button 1 or 2 on the Remote Pro.
I've tried repairing my Remote Pro to another Firestick and am having the same issue. I've also tried unpairing and repairing my remote and unplugging and restarting my Fire Cube 3.
It seems like something is preventing the Fire Cube from remembering what my voice instructions were. Anyone else come across this issue?

To anyone who got waitlisted at UChicago, please do not accept your place on the waitlist, and if you already have, please do not write a loci. I know it may seem tempting, but trust me, it's just not worth it. The waitlist is a cruel and heartless place, filled with false hopes and shattered dreams. You're better off just cutting your losses and moving on to other options. And really, why would you want to attend a school that's known for its intense academic rigor and freezing weather anyways? It's not like you'd be missing out on much. PLEASE

2023.03.29 15:12 throwawayxx125 [27f] Having bad allergy (?) reaction during outdoor exercise
27f 5’6” 160lbs Active Liletta iud Vyvanse 60mg Adderall 20mg History of mild environmental allergies as a child and mild exercised induced asthma. — Symptoms: 1. Sneezing almost nonstop for ~30 min then intermittent 2. Severe congestion 3. Blowing nose every ~1 min for the first several hours then every ~5 min on Thursday (going through about 2 boxes of tissues in 2 days). The mucus is clear and extremely thick and SO MUCH. Every blow of my nose fills the tissue to the brim. 4. Waking up with puffy eyes/face 5. Wheezy cough night of workout
— Narrative:
Hi! I am having issues with what I am assuming is an allergic reaction? Googling has given me two possible situations: new allergy to mold or exercise induced rhinitis
I was a rower for 10 years in middle and HS. In the winter we rowed start an indoor center that had water tanks to simulate indoor rowing. As you can assume, it was always damp.. therefore mold. I recently took up rowing again and we are at the same facility as before. I will note: I have been fairly sedentary for the past several years and recently got back into working out and I am doing it quite hard.
I row tuesdays and wednesdays. I started 6 weeks ago. On tuesdays, I row on a rowing machine in my home. As it was cold, the doors in my home were closed and I had no symptoms while rowing indoors at my home. Every Wednesday I would leave practice at the indoor rowing center with symptoms that lasted ~1.5/2 days.
The past two weeks, the weather has gotten nicer and I have started rowing at my home on Tuesday’s with the door to the outside open(directly next to where I row). Both days I did this, I had symptoms afterwards.
Last week, I went for an outdoor run and had symptoms after. Yesterday, I went for an outdoor run and I am having the worst symptoms I’ve had in weeks. This morning my eyes are extremely puffy, I couldn’t do literally anything after the workout because the symptoms were so hindering. I feel like I have the absolute worst cold ever.
The first couple weeks experiencing this I also had about 99 degree fever the next day.
— What I’ve tried so far: DayQuil and Zyrtec before rowing. Has not done anything to prevent symptoms. I spoke with another rower who is a doctor and they suggested trying Zyrtec or Claritin + Pepcid. I was going to try that today.
I am desperate for anything. I love rowing and I love outdoor activities. I can’t imagine this making me stop.

2023.03.29 15:11 Material_Agency3837 Using Barricade R-Wrap on the inside of the house?
So a quick backstory to why I think it’s a good idea and please tell me if I’m wrong and why. I started construction on the house and found moisture problems causing mold and rot in the house and although I’m going to address that I can’t do it at the present moment as I live in Ohio and the weather isn’t cooperating. What I did do is remove all the insulation and drywall from that affected wall and fixed what I could until I can remove all the siding and replace the rotted wood and fix the affected area correctly this spring. Getting to the meat and potatoes here I found cheap Barricade R-Wrap
www.barricadebp.com from some auction sites and was plan on using it on the interior and exterior of the walls since I have enough and the price was right. My though it it will give me more R value and hopefully keep the mold off of my new walls. I did insulate the walls and will be replacing the insulation again once I do the exterior. Now silly me I already have the walls wrapped and ready for drywall when I talked to a friend and he said his brother had something similar and the research he did says it’s a bad idea. I started to do some research and the only thing I can find it “Tyvek” brand. The research I’ve done says that it’s an absolute NO with Tyvek brand because it’s like Gortex and it slows moisture to wick one direction only. However I can’t seem to find anything on Barricade. I’d also like to add that Barricade and Tyvek are completely different materials. Tyvek is more of a plastic and Barricade is more of a mesh. Now with all of that being said I’ve done a quick search and find that you can in fact use plastic on the interior of the walls and it’s perfectly fine. Now how is it that plastic is okay? Plastic doesn’t breathe at all, aside from the holes you put in it from the staples and screws. Now Barricade would breathe and should allow moisture to dissipate. I tried calling Barricade directly and was referred to someone only to get a voicemail with the mailbox full. So I’m asking for some help. Do I leave the Barricade R-Wrap up inside and drywall? Do I put plastic over the Barricade R-Wrap and then drywall? Do I remove the barricade R-Wrap and install plastic and drywall? Do I remove the Barricade R-Wrap and just put up drywall like normal and hope the mold doesn’t spread or contaminate my new drywall? Do I buy Greenboard and do that wall in mold resistant drywall? I have mold everywhere it seems, the more I do the more I find and I am in the process of fixing the causes and preventing it from spreading as I remove and kill what I can. Information on mold removal, prevention and methods also welcome. Also keep in mind that since I’m trying to get more R Value in my build I was going to do this throughout the house. What solution or combination should I use?

2023.03.29 15:11 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Graphics: What Improvements Could We See?
As technology continues to improve, it's safe to say that we can expect significant graphical improvements in GTA 6 compared to its predecessor, GTA 5. Here are a few areas where we could potentially see major improvements:
Realistic lighting: With advancements in graphics technology, we can expect to see more realistic lighting effects in GTA 6. This could include better shadows, reflections, and lighting that changes based on the time of day and weather conditions.
Improved textures: Rockstar Games is known for their attention to detail, and we can expect that to continue with GTA 6. We could see improved textures for everything from characters to buildings to vehicles, making the game look even more realistic.
More detailed environments: In GTA 6, we could potentially see more detailed environments, with more NPCs walking around and more interactive objects to interact with. This could create a more immersive experience for players and make the game world feel even more alive.
Enhanced weather effects: Weather has always played a role in the GTA series, but we could see even more impressive weather effects in GTA 6. This could include realistic rain, thunderstorms, and even hurricanes or tornadoes.
Overall, we can expect the graphics in GTA 6 to be a major step up from its predecessor, with more attention to detail and more immersive environments. It's sure to be a visual feast for fans of the series.

2023.03.29 15:09 StepwiseUndrape574 Alledged GTA 6 Beta Tester Dishes A Ton Of Details In Latest Leak
Time sure flies, doesn't it? We are about to ring in a brand new year, and as we do so, the release of Grand Theft Auto V is now more than six years old (and is fast approaching five years on PC). Given the time that has elapsed, it is certainly possible (maybe even plausible) that Rockstar Games is deep in development on Grand Theft Auto VI. To that end, a supposed QA tester claims to have the skinny on the next installment.
We should preface this information with a disclaimer. There is no way of knowing if the supposed QA tester is what the person claims to be, or if any of the leaked details are accurate. All we know is that it's been a long time since the last Grand Theft Auto gaming (though Grand Theft Auto Online has been receiving continued updates and support).
What is interesting about the situation, though, is the anonymous source first posted the leak on Reddit, and it was removed by the moderators. It's not clear if perhaps Rockstar Games pressured the mods to take down the content. All that said, let's jump into it.
The folks at Dexerto managed to preserve the post. According to the original poster, the map in GTA VI is "huge" and covers to major cities, those being Carcer City and Vice City. Carcer City is based on Boston, and Vice City is based on Miami.
According to the leaker, GTA V is a "schoolyard playground" compared to the massive map in GTA VI. The leakers says Rockstar Games improved the weather effects and polished things up, borrowing from its experience on Red Dead Redemption 2.
"The map is huge, like stupendously huge, hence the game's emphasis on air travel. It makes GTA 5 look like a schoolyard playground. There is an array of atmospheric effects that bring out the life in everything. Light pollution, hurricane winds, morning fog, etc. I've never seen an open world game this realistic before," the leaker wrote.
Grand Theft Auto V Plane and Traine
Assuming all that is accurate, it would be a good opportunity to inject real-time ray tracing into the mix, though there is no mention of that. Instead, the focus is on the size of the map. The leaker says it's so big that it's "a little awkward traveling from Boston to Miami," in part because there are no other major cities in between them, in the game. Expect a lot of air travel, if that's the case.
The leaker also says GTA VI will again put players in control of multiple characters, just like in GTA V. One of the protagonists is said to be "an undercover cop or something," and other might possibly be a sibling. In addition, the leaker says Rockstar Games "complete revamped" the mission design.
"You can permanently abandon some missions or take different routes that sprout different consequences," the leaker says.
For more supposed details, you can check out this screen capture on Imgur, uploaded by another Reddit user (Colonize-Mars).

2023.03.29 15:09 tran_stupid_head Carved Pebbles are good for the little guys
Carved pebbles can also be beneficial for small creatures, although to a lesser extent than larger carved rocks. The smaller size of pebbles may limit the size and variety of microhabitats they can provide. However, they can still offer some advantages for little critters:
Shelter: Small crevices and grooves on carved pebbles can provide shelter for tiny insects, spiders, and other invertebrates, giving them a place to hide from predators and adverse weather conditions.
Foraging opportunities: The irregular surfaces of carved pebbles can support the growth of algae, lichen, or moss, which can serve as a food source for some small organisms.
Stabilizing substrate: When many pebbles are gathered together, they can form a stable surface that can help prevent soil erosion and create a habitat for small plants and animals to thrive.
While carved pebbles may not provide as many microhabitats as larger carved rocks, they can still contribute positively to the local environment and provide some benefits for small creatures.

My husband and I are planning an 8 day trip and arriving 4/1. I’m getting really nervous about the weather! We avoided planning anything too ambitious and we’re only planning on going as far as Vik. We did plan an ice cave tour for the 4th. We will be staying in Reykjavik the first two nights and going to Vik 3-5 and one night in Hella. Do y’all think this is even feasible? Any words of wisdom?

2023.03.29 14:58 djkool123 Advice For a Trip to the White Mountains
Hi! I hope to take a trip to the White Mountains with my parents April 10-14.
Firstly, is this a good time to go? Is the weather too extreme? Are there mountains easy enough for me (intermediate hiker) or for families or is the weather too risky to even try?
Secondly, if I were to go:
- What places are recommended? (scenic hikes, lakes, just walking around to explore, food)
- Best accommodations?
- What should I pack to prepare? (hiking gear, clothes, etc.)
Thanks so much! Not sure if this is the best time to visit, but I don't mind being super cold or it being snowy and would love to see the mountains even if not from the tallest peak :)
