2023.06.10 18:47 No_time_yo Your experience with online schooling
Hello, I graduated last December from a community college in Ann Arbor, Michigan and had an excellent experience. Each class had video lectures, lots of interaction with the professors, discussion boards, etc., for almost every class and I really enjoyed my time there.
This spring I signed up for a bachelor’s at Nicholls State University in Louisiana, a school with a good reputation. However, every class I’ve taken there has been disappointing. The science class is “at your own pace”: read the text, take a few quizzes, take a few exams. No discussion, no lectures, no videos, nothing. The English class is a book of readings and discussion boards and a few papers: no video lectures or professor discussions or anything similar. Just curious if this is, generally, how online classes go and if my previous school was out of the ordinary. Any info is appreciated!

Jaime Munguia Vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko: Start Time, Date, How To Watch Tonight
Former WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia is getting his long-awaited step-up fight against Sergiy ‘The Technician’ Derevyanchenko tonight at the Toyota Center in Ontario, California. DAZN will stream the Munguia vs. Derevyanchenko event live, starting at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
Derevyanchenko comes into this fight with a big advantage in experience over Munguia. It’ll be interesting to see if he can use that to win against the much younger fighter.
Munguia will need to show a lot more ability to win this fight against Derevyhanchenko from what we’ve seen against him in his recent contests against Gonzalo Gaston Coria, Jimmy Kelly, Gabe Rosado, Kamil Szeremeta, Gary O’Sullivan, and Tureano Johnson.
MUNGUIA VS. DEREVYANCHENKO START TIME
Date: Saturday, June 10
Time: 8 p.m. ET / 1 a.m. BST
Main event ringwalks (approx): 11 p.m. ET / 4 a.m. BST
The fight will take place at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
The card will stream live on DAZN in over 200 countries across the globe
The main card begins at 8 p.m. ET / 1 a.m. BST with the main event ringwalks scheduled for 11 p.m. ET / 4 a.m. BST. These timings could change due to the length of the undercard fights.
If Derevyanchenko can recapture the form he showed in his fights against Danny Jacobs and Gennadiy Golovkin, Munguia could be in for a long night on June 10th. Derevyanchenko fought well enough to deserve wins over both fighters but, unfortunately, came up short.
Derevyanchenko is from Ukraine and competed in the 2008 Olympics. He turned pro in 2014 and has been on the receiving end of questionable decisions in his toughest bouts.
Fans feel that Munguia has been brought along too slowly during his career, matched against beatable opposition, and not put in with the type of opposition that would have potentially turned him into a star.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya says a win for the 26-year-old Munguia over the 37-year-old Munguia will put him in a position to challenge for a world title.
However, Munguia has been in a position to challenge for a world title for the last two years. Still, he keeps turning them down, rejecting fights against former WBO champion Demetrius Andrade and Janibek Alimkhanuly.
MUNGUIA – DEREVYANCHENKO FIGHT CARD
Jaime Munguia vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko; Super middleweight
Shane Mosley Jr. vs. D’Mitrius Ballard; Middleweight

2023.06.10 17:28 real_rons Hit by drunk driver, advice?
Hello friends,
I have a 2022 Toyota Supra 3.0 premium that I bought from Toyota of Dallas last year. Last week I was hit on the highway by a drunk driver, the body damage didn’t look too bad but the front suspension has definitely taken most of the blow, with the front passenger wheel being towed in quite a bit (was a side hit).
Made a claim through Progressive, they’re still trying to find out if the drunk driver had insurance.
Called a few collision centers while making the claim, Toyota of Dallas and BMW of Dallas said they wouldn’t work on it. Finally BMW of Arlington said they would do the work even though they haven’t worked on a Supra before.
Wanted to get any thoughts and suggestions on this.

2023.06.10 17:11 Legal-Treat-5582 The Three Energies of Mega Evolution
Mega Evolution has always been the odd one out when it comes to the various gimmicks and their origins. Z-Moves are the result of Necrozma's light, Dynamaxing is the result of Eternatus' energy, and Terastallization seems like it's going to be linked with Terapagos' energy. What about Mega Evolution? Who knows, Sycamore thinks it's from Xerneas / Yveltal's energy fired from the ultimate weapon, while the Draconids think it's from meteors that have been hitting Hoenn for the past couple thousand years. Someone in the Tower of Mastery claims Lucario was the first Pokemon to Mega Evolve, while the legends of the Draconids say it was Rayquaza. It's a whole mess.
So, I decided to take a look at everything I could find regarding Mega Evolution to try and answer this mystery. For starters, let's begin with XY. Sycamore's theory draws a strong connection between Mega Evolution and life energy, the power that fueled the ultimate weapon; this connection is further supported by a girl in Shalour City's Pokemon Center, who mentions that in Kalos, one can rarely find stones filled with life energy, and what notable rare stones can be found in XY? Mega Stones. Lysandre also randomly calls the player up to tell them how Sycamore's research indicates Mega Evolution causes a Pokemon to release all their hidden energy at once, exhibiting a level of power not attainable through regular evolution. Sadly, XY doesn't comment a lot more on the mechanics of Mega Evolution. It mentions friendship and strong bonds are required, but they're not actually a gameplay requirement for some reason. We'll get back to that later, but for now, onto ORAS.
Surprisingly, although ORAS introduces a connection between Mega Evolution and meteorites, life energy isn't dropped, in fact, it's made even more obvious. During the Delta Episode, to combat the approaching meteor, a plan to create a warp hole is put together. This involved the usage of Infinity Energy, which as Mr. Stone and Courtney explained, is the life energy of Pokemon and the same power used in the ultimate weapon. Professor Cozmo walked us through the plan; a rocket filled with both Infinity Energy, as well as the life energy of humans found in Key Stones, was to be launched into space, where they would artificially replicate the massive energy released by Mega Evolution in order to create the warp hole. On top of this, Courtney / Matt planned to use their Key Stones to cause the rocket to explode, which Matt said would be like Mega Evolving the rocket.
However, as mentioned previously, ORAS didn't just expand on the life energy idea, but also introduced a connection with meteorites. For instance, Rayquaza needs to consume meteorites to fuel its own Mega Evolution. Additionally, during the game, as well as in Masters, Archie and Maxie mention how meteorites contain their own latent energy, which for simplicity's sake we'll call "space energy", and under the right conditions, these meteors can be altered and turned into either Mega or Key Stones. While these conditions aren't explored, I suspect it involves somehow filling the meteorites with the appropriate form of life energy, be it human for Key Stones, or a specific Pokemon for Mega Stones.
In fact, we actually see this connection between life and space energy somewhere. In XY, the player can have their Mega Ring upgraded, allowing them to find hidden Mega Stones for a brief period every day. What's involved in upgrading the Mega Ring? The energy of Xerneas / Yveltal and the power of the Anistar Sundial, which has been said to come from space, or in other words, a combination of life and space energy. Speaking of, Sycamore mentions how the Anistar Sundial converts sunlight into its own mysterious light, pointing to space energy simply being a new form of sunlight.
Hold on a second, yeah that could work for XY, but what about ORAS? The player can find Mega Stones around Hoenn at any point in the day after kicking Groudon / Kyogre's ass; not to mention the two utilize natural energy, unlike the life energy of Xerneas / Yveltal, as Project AZOTH, research done by Team Magma / Aqua go out of their way to mention. The player shouldn't have the necessary life energy, and where would the space energy come from? Well, I'd say the space energy has a pretty simple explanation.
Hoenn is notable for the fact it gets hit by meteorites constantly, hell, Sootopolis City, where the player fights Groudon / Kyogre, was where the most recent meteorite of the Draconid legends struck, tearing open the ground and letting loose all the natural energy within. The Anistar Sundial meanwhile, is Kalos' only notable connection to space, and the sundial itself only emits light during the brief period one can find Mega Stones, severely limiting the amount of space energy present in Kalos.
Okay, great, but what about that life energy now? Well, for that, we'll need to take a bit of a detour to the Ferrum region of Pokken Tournament. Mega Evolution is quite prominent in Ferrum, and although Synergy Stones are used instead of Key Stones, a lot of parallels can still be drawn between the two. For instance, both types of stones focus on the connection between trainer and Pokemon, powerful Synergy Stones sparkle with rainbow light, just like Key Stones, and of course, both can activate Mega Evolution.
Unlike the main series though, Pokken does actually reveal some information on how Synergy Stones work. It's mentioned in the game's story mode that the earth of the Ferrum region contains an energy known as Gaia, which Synergy Stones can convert into Synergy Power that can be used to vitalize living creatures and activate Synergy Burst, which results in Mega Evolution for any Pokemon capable. Pokken also features the Shadow Synergy Stone, which absorbs Synergy Power and subsequently drains Gaia from the earth, and if too much is absorbed, not only does the player lose the ability to activate Synergy Burst and Mega Evolution, but Ferrum itself is in danger of being destroyed.
This sounds pretty similar to what Groudon / Kyogre were threatening to do in ORAS, absorb as much natural energy as they could, which risked destroying Hoenn. Granted, Mega Evolution was never disabled in ORAS, but it could be argued Groudon / Kyogre simply didn't absorb enough energy to cause that, given the player fights them right after they Primal Reverse. But still, what if Gaia and natural energy are, in fact, the exact same thing? The Pokken stage, Dragon's Nest, has a statue of Mega Rayquaza present, which could imply Groudon and Kyogre once fought over Ferrum's Gaia in the past, but were stopped by Rayquaza, which was then worshipped for saving the region, just like what happened in Hoenn.
This connection between Mega Evolution and natural energy is also further supported by the Sync Stones of Masters, which as with Key and Synergy Stones, are capable of causing Mega Evolution, while Sycamore directly mentions he believes Sync Stones are related to Megas. On top of that, during the Hoenn Villain Arc, Pasio is mentioned to contain natural energy, showing it's not exclusive to Hoenn. Sync Stones are also found in the oceans of Pasio, which Professor Bellis suspects is due to the natural energy present within. Finally, one of the big events of the Hoenn Villain Arc was Groudon and Kyogre losing control of themselves due to Pasio's natural energy being artificially amplified by Team Rocket; Courtney and Matt later tried to take control of the two with their Sync Stones, but ultimately ended up losing control of themselves due to the legendaries' rampaging state affecting them through their Sync Stones.
So rather than life energy itself, the defeat of Groudon / Kyogre in Hoenn released a huge amount of Gaia, which, since it can vitalize living creatures, resulted in the creation of life energy, thus allowing both the player and certain NPCs to find Mega Stones.
Okay, so Mega Evolution utilizes life energy, space energy, and natural energy, but what about the constant talk of friendship and strong bonds being required, despite the fact it's not actually needed in-game? Well, I'm sure most of you are aware of how when Megas eventually got Pokedex entries, most of them described how the Pokemon are in immense pain, and while I don't take what the Pokedex says that seriously most of the time, this is actually backed up in Masters. Sycamore wonders why a Pokemon would put themselves through it if that's the case, to which the player pretty much says "for the sake of friendship", so yeah, the cheesy common headcanon most people have that the Pokedex entries only describe what happens if the trainer doesn't have a good enough bond seems to be true.
Wait, but what was with that previous detail of Key Stones being filled with the life energy of humans? What's the point of that if Key Stones are just Gaia convertors? Well, I'd suggest it's mostly just for the Key Stone to know where it needs to send its energy by seeing what nearby Pokemon the user is most connected to. For instance, a Devon scientist mentions how in the past, Rayquaza once caused a bunch of Draconids' Key Stones to react so it could Mega Evolve itself.
In fact, Key Stones and others like it technically aren't even needed to achieve Mega Evolution, though it seems to make the process easier. In Pokemon GO for example, one has to collect hundreds of small stones called Mega Energy, which isn't just a gameplay mechanic, as Willow talks about it; he also says a Key Stone isn't necessary, but gives the player one anyway for the hell of it. Once a Pokemon has Mega Evolved in GO, it doesn't need as much Mega Energy in subsequent uses, with it going down the more the Pokemon Mega Evolves. This could indicate Mega Energy is a more natural form of Mega Evolution, as the Pokemon becomes accustomed to it and then only needs smaller nudges whenever it wants to Mega Evolve again.
There's also Mystery Dungeon, which has Awakening Emeras in Super, which cause Mega Evolution when inserted into a Looplet, though they cause the Pokemon to lose control of themselves after a few turns with most Looplets. Emeras themselves are a bit of a mystery, and considering how many of them there are, with only the one causing Mega Evolution, leads me to suspect Awakening Emeras are just ones that happen to be filled with the necessary energy to Mega Evolve. Oh, and also, if one uses an Awakening Emera without a Looplet, they get a buff to their HP, or in other words, life energy.
Finally, Rescue Team DX has one of the more confusing methods of Mega Evolution in the form of Empowerment Seeds, which don't have any downsides and can even cause Primal Reversion, unlike Emeras.
So, there you have it, the "Mega" Mega Evolution theory. Certain meteorites convert sunlight into space energy, which can then through unclear methods be filled with life energy to transform them into Key or Mega Stones. From there, one can use Key Stones and others like it to absorb Gaia and have it make a Pokemon unleash all its hidden potential at once, putting it under immense pain from all the power, but through the bonds of friendship, can put up with the pain for the sake of their trainers.
I couldn't fit everything I wanted to in here, for instance, what the first Mega Evolution was (Rayquaza was likely the first, but Lucario was counted as the first true usage due to the different circumstances of Rayquaza's), and couldn't really come up with a solid explanation for things like Empowerment Seeds, but hopefully this is coherent enough and doesn't leave too many loose ends.

2023.06.10 17:00 LGDots Artist Allan Reid
Some years ago (many) I purchased art from a local artist, Allan Reid (Ann Arbor) who sold art at the Birmingham Art Fair. I am thinking of selling these pieces - don't know if they even have value. I was thinking Ann Arbor would be the place and want to get in touch with an art dealer. Any suggestions on which gallery would be best suited to sell his work. I think these are etchings. Sorry - not an art expert here - just an appreciator.

2023.06.10 16:53 thrrwaway0757 Do I need to disclose OCD on a SF86 form?
Long story short, I’m an ROTC student in college set to commission soon. I went to counseling through my schools counseling center due to some relationship issues and other life stress that was compounding itself. The counselor worked with me but said that it’d be better if I saw someone else that was better equipped within the center. I was then directed to a psychologist within the schools counseling center who worked with me. We worked on OCD related stuff but I wasn’t aware she diagnosed me until recently.
I want to separately note that I have never been medicated, hospitalized, or had any sort of impaired judgement from this. I also do not have the same symptoms that I used to have.
With this said, under the new system, would I need to report this? From what I understand, the diagnosis is technically in writing which is what concerns me. Thoughts??

I'm making the, in my opinion safe, assumption that they give keys to countries proportionally to the number of actual players that they detect play tekken online. So countries with strong offline scenes will get underrepresented, like Pakistan for example.
So, NZ wins. I knew tekken was pretty popular there but is it really THAT popular? Lemme know.
Wtf is
Mauritius?? I googled and it's a tiny country to the right of Madagascar. There are some facebook groups for tekken and I found tournaments on youtube so... I guess it's legit....? Lemme know if someone is from there!
My country Greece is surprisingly high, which I was pleasantly surprised by.
And that's it from me. Lemme know what thoughts you have about your own country and how popular tekken is there and how that compares to the number of keys yours received.

2023.06.10 15:03 ElReyDeLosGatos A bit of context around Primavera Sound Madrid: The facilities
Primavera Madrid takes place in Ciudad del Rock. This was built as a result of the deal between the creator of Rock in Río festival and the president of the Community of Madrid at the time, Esperanza Aguirre. Aguirre has been accused for years of various corruption scandals. Rock in Río Madrid ran for 3 editions and then stopped, after building on a 200.000 m² area near Arganda del Rey.
Since then, it has been abandoned by the different PP leaders who have run Madrid and different mayors who have run Arganda del Rey:
https://www.elconfidencial.com/cultura/2020-03-09/rock-in-rio-ciudad-del-rock-arganda-abandonado_2486040/ Here are some extracts from the article:
"There was a moment when someone thought that a barren wasteland in the middle of nowhere was the best place to host massive festivals. That someone was Ginés López, the mayor of Arganda del Rey (55,000 inhabitants) from the Partido Popular (People's Party). Under the shadow of the real estate bubble, the city council built the Ciudad del Rock on a vast plot at kilometer 33 of the A-3 highway, all to bring Rock in Rio to Madrid, an event that passed with more disappointment than glory. Especially for the public coffers."
"However, the utilization of the venue is just the tip of the iceberg, where the Púnica scandal, megalomania, a turning point in the music festival model, and of course, the absorption of public funds by the companies that organize them all converge. So, to tell this story, one must travel back to the years of the real estate boom."
"The total price of the land is just a part of what the public company controlled by Granados paid, which spent over 30 million euros on demolition and adaptation expenses. If the community provided the land, it was the responsibility of the city council to cover the construction costs. The city council spent at least 12 million euros on infrastructure, although everything was so opaque that today no one dares to quantify the rise in the bill. The venue, which encompassed 200,000 square meters plus 150,000 square meters of parking, was located eight kilometers away from the urban center of Arganda. To put it plainly, it was in the middle of the countryside."
"It was necessary to fence the perimeter, build sheds, level the ground—part of it was cemented, while artificial turf was overlaid on another part—and carry out electrical installations such as power outlets and lighting. The money was also spent on acquisitions like the so-called Fuente de las Estrellas (Fountain of the Stars), which received the Guinness World Record for the largest visitable and artificial fountain in the world, with an area of about 200 square meters.
Everything was tailor-made for Rock in Rio, organized by Better World, a company through which the Brazilian Rock World, owned by entrepreneur Roberto Medina, operated in Spain. The technical project itself was prepared by the company, with details of site layout, infrastructure development, and venue adaptation. The festival called the shots, and the public institutions footed the bill."
"If a venue is tailor-made for an event that ceases to be held, it's easy to imagine what happens. Ciudad del Rock is fenced off and its structures are maintained, but during this time, there have been thefts and nature has taken over: rabbits are the main visitors, and natural grass is encroaching on the artificial turf. "Although there is surveillance, it has suffered metal theft on some occasions, especially copper," admits Mayor Hita."
