It's not the end-game, per se, but it's all of the build up before you can just do the ARPG part. I'm playing D4 to get away from chores. I want to jump in for a few hours here and there, enjoy it, and then go do something else. I don't want to be constantly taken out of the action with time wasters. Let me give you a few examples:

• 160 games of where's waldo with Altar's of Lilith, which don't show up on your map until you've already found them. Why is this not the other way around? I don't care where the altars are after I've clicked on them. This is worth 4 paragon points, 100 max orbol capacity, and 68 of each stats. For each season, it seems like we're going to need to do this for renown at 1600 for the group. No. I refuse.
  
• Required renown. This cannot be mandatory for each season. It's painful enough to do it the first time. Disconnect the 20 paragon points, +4 potions, +240 obols capacity, and +8 skill points from this tree. Make those tied to average power level on gear or progress just for playing the game rather than having to do dozens of hours of gameplay you don't enjoy so you can do the content you do want to do. That's how you make a boring MMO. It's not how you build a seasonal game.
  
• Long walks to no where to start nightmare dungeons. We can teleport to town from the dungeon. In universe, our character should be able to teleport to the dungeon with a sigil.
  
• Waiting for events and other AFK timers was a terrible idea for an ARPG. Maybe it would be okay if there was always an event up. But logging in and then pulling up a schedule to see what I can do and what I can't or feel like I'm missing out/failing is bad. Don't do this. Disconnect the forgotten souls from the events or always have a farmable way to find them each season.
  
• World bosses are the same. I don't want to login and then AFK for 15 minutes waiting for it to spawn. I get that the design doesn't really work in any other way, but how about giving players a cache from either the world boss or the first butcher kill of that week. Alternatively, use this as the weekly queue similar to the old challenge dungeons. You just queue up for the boss and it starts when 10 people are interested. You can queue as a group or fill it with bots because it's not like social is supported in any meaningful way in this game.
  
• Linear dungeons are boring. Well, guess what, that's what they are. If you have a long hallway with two branches, and you have to go down branch A to get pick up mcguffin, then go down branch b to pick up mcguffin, and then go back to the hallway... that's still linear. It's still linear even if you have to choose between A> B or B > A. D3 had maybe a dozen different designs lego'd together, but they felt different because of variety and options available. Maybe I'll go left, maybe right and up, oh look an elite. In D4, it's go up, go left, go right, repeat, repeat, repeat.
  
• So much dead space and no quest markers I'm told to go find the shaman's room. I start wondering around, looking for the biggest looking room, enjoying the scenery because there's no action in my ARPG until I finish the mandatory point and click adventure.
  
• Events in dungeons Right now it's just an option to stop doing your dungeon for two minutes and do an event that you don't really care about. If you let events do something like add 1-5 extra xp to a rune then that's interesting. That may be worth taking what was 1/3 of a dungeon farm in D3 to do.
  
• Affixes that pull you out of the action The lightning one especially. It looks good visually and I get the concept, but maybe don't fish around games on the decline or an entirely different genre (wow) for ideas. I don't like stopping my dungeon run to run back 20 yards and find the glowwy protection circle then stand there for a few seconds before backtracking to get back to searching for the already sparse mobs.
  
• Non-obvious elites I only notice when they take a little longer to kill. it's not like I'm stopping to read the names of every one of the 20 mobs in a pack. Make the names yellow or blue so I know that this is going to get interesting.
  
• Kill everything is a terrible design. There's always one straggler I have to go back for, more than once I've had spawns behind doors that are sealed until everything is killed. That just breaks the dungeon run because I've only killed 99.8% of the mobs. If it's kill everything then they should teleport to you if you haven't killed one in a few seconds.
  
• Do everything twice in dungeons. Every dungeon seems to be the same. Get the mcguffin, put mcguffin in a hole, open a door, fight through a trash wave, get a new mcguffin, put the mcguffin in a new hole, unlock the second door, kill the boss, get the loot. It seems redundant. Cut it in half. Do the thing, open the door, kill the boss once.
  
• Sorting!!! It's such a waste of time to go through everything over and over again. The trash option is nice, but let me hit space twice to lock something. Let me sort by level, power, affix, build load outs, etc... Give me auto-vendor or auto-salvage when I access the right place if the piece is below a certain power level or doesn't have stats I'm looking for.
  
• Leveling up feels bad. Since mobs level up with me on the same tier, elites on any tier, leveling up feels like you just deleveled. You feel weaker. There should be more tiers, such as selecting a tier in the same way you select a tier to a nightmare dungeon, and the mob difficulty should be tied to the tier. If someone wants to farm easier tiers because that's what they enjoy or they're fishing for certain pieces then let them. It's more or less a solo game anyway. Tie power level to tier a little more tightly and you even can allow sacred/ancient pieces to drop (with less frequency) on this tiers to give them upgrades at a level they feel comfortable with. Make elites scale to the tier and not the player.
  

Now that said there are a lot of good things. I like power level on gear, I like upgrading to make yellows worth something again, I like that gold matters and is a useful resource, obols feels more interesting with upgrade options, build diversity seems interesting and distinct, and the foundation of this game is solid. The campaign was 10/10 for me (once). I feel like I can recommend the game on that alone, but it needs a lot more help for endgame, which is the core of what diablo is now.

INFESTATION
Break out the bug repellant, because Helicarriers are about to have a severe bug problem in the form of the new Infestation team! This scrappy black ops squad will specialize in Alliance War Defense and consist of newcomer Spider-Man (Big Time) and S.T.R.I.K.E. veterans Ant-Man, Black Widow, Swarm, and Yellowjacket – all of whom will receive upgrades for their new role. Infestation will be a top Defensive team and bringing anything less than a top Offensive squad like Knowhere will result in your forces getting squashed. So beware, Commander! Let's meet the new face (mask?) of the Infestation team…
SPIDER-MAN (BIG TIME)
After losing his job as a photographer, Peter Parker took on a new role as a research scientist and engineer at Horizon Labs. There, he developed a new Spider-Man suit with upgraded tech, including a green camo mode that made him invisible to visual and audio means and a red anti-sound mode. Spider-Man utilized the updated suit to defeat the Hobgoblin and a new villain named Massacre, who was terrorizing the city.
Spider-Man (Big Time) swings onto the new Infestation team as a big-time Controller with high Health and Focus stats. He's the lynchpin of the team and is extremely powerful on War Defense. When he's with his full Infestation team, Spider-Man (Big Time) gains a Charged, which grants his Ultimate Ability a myriad of battle-changing effects, including applying 2 turns of Disrupted, Trauma, and Blind to all enemies, along with flipping all of their positive effects and stealing up to 2 Ability Energy.

hi! i’m trying to log into max through at&t, we previously got it through our cable provider but we cancelled cable. we keep getting texts from at&t saying we have access to max, and the max help site states that we can access max with an unlimited plus plan, but when trying to log in through max i keep getting the “can’t verify subscription” message.
i saw an article saying to activate through myat&t before trying to log in using max, but there’s no option to activate on my dashboard - just a tile with a link to start streaming, which takes me to the max login page.
i’ve tried talking to a customer service representative (why is it so difficult to get an actual person lol) but they told me i need unlimited elite - i asked why the max website said i only need unlimited plus and then they said i need direct tv. is there something i’m missing? i read some older things saying i need unlimited elite but all of the most recent helo articles are saying i can access max with unlimited plus.

So I’m working on a Pokemon themed blog where I’ll talk about an array of topics (reviews, discussions and so on). The blog itself isn’t live yet, since I’m trying to get a few posts up beforehand.
One series I have planned is a series of what if where I take a topic and give it a spin. So far, I have a what if in the works about one of the reasons Rose chose to sponsor Leon was because Leon reminded him of Peony (and Rose). And in an attempt to emulate the good memories he had with Peony, without having to actually reconnecting with him, was by replacing him with Leon.
I have a few concepts on the drawing board. However, so I stay on topic, I’ll only bring up the one or two other Sword and Shield I have in mind. Feel free to vote for whichever you think is the most interesting.

1. What if Leon either took over Mustard’s dojo when he retired or created his own alongside the Battle Tower: This would be a what if following the Isle of Armor DLC in which Leon comes to the Isle of Armor to visit his former mentor, Mustard. And at the end of the Isle of Armor’s story is either offered Mustard’s dojo when Mustard retires and accepts or Leon decides to open his own to run alongside the Battle Tower. Either one he accepts wanting to help train the trainers of tomorrow.
   
2. What if Leon and Raihan’s rivalry helped Leon feel less alone?: With how much time away from home Leon has to partake in, what if one of the things helping him feel less lonely was his rivalry with Raihan? As rivals and friends, Raihan has taken it upon himself to be there for Leon, knowing how isolating being the champion must be.
   
3. What if Piers was from Hoenn? With Piers’ ace being Obstagoon, what if Piers was born and raised in Hoenn. Maybe he lived there for a few years before moving to Galar. Inspired by the guitarist trainer class and Sydney of the Hoenn Elite Four, he decided to become a musician and Dark type specialist. And maybe his Obstagoon was the child of his family’s Hoenn Linoone and a Galarian Linoone Sydney gifted Piers’ family, in the hopes Piers would follow his dreams.

Maxes at rank 100. At max level, gain all materials required to craft Lv. 50 battle imagine Einrain (b). Advanced costs 180 Rose Orbs. Royal costs 550 Rose Orbs and grants an extra 25 ranks to start. Both of these add additional quests to get points. Rewards include an emote.
After maxing one of these passes, you geet the Next Season Paid Plan Discount, which discounts the next season pass by 180 Rose Orbs. So if you buy the Advanced Pass once and max it out each time, you won't have to pay for another pass.

They remade the roadmap image, slightly offseting the Season timelines since they can start/end in the middle of the month. Players were confused before as to why Season 1 started 2 weeks after launch, so this was fixed for clarification.

Raids (1:07:48)

Raid entry is on a schedule. The default raid Void's Island is always available, while a second, harder raid will be swapped out with a different one each update. Monday ~ Friday between 14:00~15:00, 18:00~19:00, and 22:00~23:00. Saturday & Sunday between 8:00~9:00, 12:00~13:00, 16:00~17:00, 20:00~21:00, next day 1:00~2:00.

Time Attack/Score Attack (1:08:54)

Solo dungeons with leaderboards, separated by class. These dungeons will rotate game mode and map every 2 weeks, starting with Time Attack (map X) at launch, then Score Attack (map Y) on week 3, and then Time Attack (map Z) on week 5, etc. There's a schedule of the maps and their dates at 1:12:44.

Time Attack (Dragon Claw Valley)

Based on your clear time, there are one-time rewards:

• Gold: title
• Silver: Skill-enhancing Ability Plug G2 (random skill, random class)
• Bronze: GC x1500

Additionally, there are ranking rewards. Rankings are displayed on the Leaderboards in towns.

They showed some never-before-seen stuff, like Score Attack (2:04:15) and Evergreen Desert (including Salamzart Oasis) after a short intermission. The rest of the stream is unscripted, and they show off things like new enemies, weapon skins, outfits, emotes, accessories, and Einrain battle imagines. Photo mode can now pause skills as well, which was earlier stated to not be supported, although the effects won't pause (1:54:03).

Have a new build;
Asus ROG maximus z790 hero wifi. i9 13900k Rtx 4090 4x 16gb corsair dominator platinum rgb 6600 DDR5 And a corsair h150i elite cappelix xt lcd.
I keep getting blue screened. Seconds after i get the "press del or F2 to enter Bios" screen. I doesnt even manage to get to the login screen. I have no clue what to do and i was hoping for advice.
Edit literal seconds after posting this: I disable XMP and it boots.
Now to figure out how to make it boot stable while still being able to use the advertised speeds.

Wally West woke to the first light of dawn seeping into his room at Iris's house, his bleary eyes slowly adjusting to the morning light. His room was a testament to the duality of his life: one of an ordinary teenager and the other of Kid Flash, the city's young speedster. A collection of running shoes, sole worn and treads erased, lay scattered in one corner - the Speed Force may have protected him while running, but he had nonetheless developed a nasty habit of being heavy-footed in his civilian life. His desk was buried beneath a chaotic pile of textbooks and notebooks, holding unfinished homework assignments that he could complete in the blink of an eye but always managed to put off.
Wally was never one for routine, finding comfort in the spontaneous and unpredictable. He thrived in the clutter, a trait that had only been amplified since he'd taken up the mantle of Kid Flash. His mornings were never the same, each one different from the last. Today was no different.
His morning haze was ended by a sudden knock at the front door, one he swore he recognised. Wally quickly pulled on a baseball tee and some cargo pants and rushed down the stairs. His aunt Iris had likely already begun her day, leaving Wally to face the unannounced guests himself. As he swung the door open, a blend of strained smiles and apprehension greeted him—the faces of Mary and Rudy West, his parents. Wally felt a surge of mixed emotions. They had allowed him to leave their family home in Blue Valley, Nebraska and move to Central City at the Flash’s insistence that he be closer to the experts who would put right the seizures brought on by his unstable connection to the Speed Force, and not having seen them for quite some time he supposed he should have been happy to be greeted by them now. The truth was that - though he had never told anyone this - his destructive powers were the perfect excuse to leave an already fraught home environment.
Wally braced himself for the obligatory exchange of pleasantries. "Morning," he mumbled, his voice bereft of warmth.
"Wally, it’s so good to see you!" Mary's voice wavered between forced cheerfulness and anxiety. "We thought we'd come by to see how you're doing."
"Shouldn't you be getting ready for school, son?" Rudy asked, his gaze lingering on Wally's dishevelled appearance.
Wally bit back a sharp retort, grinding his teeth in frustration. Their attempt at casual conversation felt like a charade to him, a superficial overlay on a deep-seated problem. "Yeah, I should," he said tersely, the bitterness in his voice seeping through.
Feeling suffocated by their presence, Wally seized the opportunity to escape. "I'm late for school," he declared abruptly, sidestepping his parents and heading towards the door.
"But we just got here," Rudy protested, his brows furrowed in confusion. “We came all this way.”
"I really can't be late again," Wally called out, his voice fading as he harnessed his super-speed, his figure blurring into a streak of vibrant colours. The door slammed shut behind him, leaving his parents in the wake of his rapid departure.

Wally West found himself ensnared in his own turbulent thoughts rather than his English teacher’s recanting of the complexities of Fahrenheit 451. His heart was wreathed in grief over Max's death, a persistent ache that was compounded by the alienation he felt since moving from Nebraska to Central City. His social life was a drab canvas filled with faceless classmates, void of any meaningful friendships.
His sole source of belonging lay outside the school walls, within the bright streaks of yellow and red of his Kid Flash costume. As the trusted ally of the Scarlet Speedster, Wally felt an unshakeable sense of purpose and identity. But now even his life as Kid Flash was mired in uncertainty.
Wally had always idolised the Flash, back before he knew that multiple people had captured his imagination. Now Max was dead, and Barry was changed by it and other recent tragedies. There was a strained tension in his voice, a distracted focus in his eyes that Wally couldn't ignore. He'd seen him grief-stricken over Daniel’s death, and over losing Patty, but this was different.
Then there was Wally’s destabilising connection to the Speed Force. What initially seemed like an exhilarating unpredictability had turned into a haunting uncertainty. Any time he would use his powers, it was up to chance whether today he would be running a bit faster than before, or if his entire body would be paralysed and wrought by the lightning built up inside of him. It was a heavy burden for a teenager - even one in his senior year. Yet, he understood that he was of no use to Central City or his mentor if he couldn't rely on his speed.
The shrill ring of the bell signalling the end of the fifth period mercifully severed Wally's chain of thoughts. The day was too bright, the hallway noises too loud, everything a grating reminder of how much he'd rather be anywhere else but school. When his cell phone buzzed in his backpack, Wally made a beeline to the restroom to check his messages, discovering an alert from the Flash.
‘William and I are tied up with something; need you to deal with a new meta at the Civic Center.’
Wally's heart pounded with a heady mix of adrenaline and anticipation. His personal struggles faded into the background as he promptly excused himself from school, evading the notice of his teachers.
Within moments, Kid Flash skidded to a halt at the Central City Civic Center. A charity fair, attended by the city's elite, including Mayor Derek Fox and his family, had been engulfed in chaos. The cheerfulness of the fair was being choked by a dense, swirling maelstrom of noxious smoke, replacing laughter with terrified screams. A new villain had made their sinister debut.
"Well, a smoky surprise party was not what I had in mind," Kid Flash quipped, attempting to alleviate the tension rippling through the crowd. Drawing a deep breath, he felt the comforting surge of lightning as he manipulated time, slowing it down enough to peer through the swirling particles of soot. Scanning the area, he caught glimpses of numerous civilians and Mayor Fox's family but found no trace of the metahuman.
Releasing time back to its normal flow, Wally felt a peculiar satisfaction in successfully employing an ‘advanced speedster technique’. Moving closer to the billowing smoke, his voice cut through the clamour. "Everyone! Kid Flash is here! Follow the sound of my voice!"
Sure enough, figures began emerging from the fog, running past him, all except the mayor. When Ashley Fox, a woman around Barry's age, ran up to him with panic etched on her face, Wally knew this wouldn't be an easy task. "That thing has my dad!" cried Ashley. "You have to help him!"
“I will,” nodded Kid Flash dutifully. He took a deep breath of clean air and then ventured into the smog.
Strangely enough, as he pushed through the initial threshold of the smokescreen, Wally's vision remained less impaired than expected. Though he strained to see through the veil of grey, he managed to discern a dome of smoke enclosing the centre of the square, including his own path. From several points along the wall of the smoke dome, chains or ropes of condensed soot extended downward, converging at the centre where the elderly Mayor Fox was ensnared and gagged by the solidified smoke.
A deep, echoing laugh resonated from somewhere within the smoke, sending a chill down Wally’s spine.
"Looks like you've stumbled into the lion's den, kid," a voice echoed around him.
"So, you're the one behind this, huh?" Wally shouted back, attempting to pinpoint the origin of the voice.
"You think you can stop me, Kid Flash?" The voice bellowed from within its swirling smoky shroud, a menacing spectre harbouring a grudge.
Wally remained silent, his eyes locked on the mayor. The smoke was thick and toxic, choking the air around Mayor Fox, who coughed and spluttered. He knew he could get Fox out of there in a fraction of a second with his speed, but Smokescreen's smoke was thick, choking. If he made a wrong move at super speed, the sudden vacuum could cause the smoke to rush into Fox's lungs. A slow, suffocating death.
Suddenly, a familiar prickling sensation crawled up the base of Wally's skull. It gradually evolved into a dull ache, signaling the imminent threat of a Speed Force seizure. Gritting his teeth, he concentrated on the task at hand.
"Why are you doing this?" he called out. "You could have targeted everyone, but you specifically went after the mayor. And if it's about him, why do it in public, where a Flash won’t be far away?"
“This isn’t about the mayor,” rumbled the voice of the unknown villain. Smokescreen, Wally decided to call him. His smoke tendrils curled tighter around Fox. "This is about making them know what it feels like to be scared, powerless."
"You can't possibly mean that," Wally cried, searching for any thread to latch onto, any shred of reason that could persuade the villain to reconsider. "I thought this event was for charity!"
“Sure, except it's all really for the benefit of these rich guys’ public image.”
Smokescreen's bitter words drifted through the air, his motivations becoming clearer, personal. It did nothing to justify his actions though. Whatever his grievances were, terrorising the public wasn't the answer.
Wally knew what he had to do, but the threat of a seizure loomed, ready to thwart his plans. Taking a deep breath and crossing his fingers, knowing he only had one chance at this, Wally sprinted forward, running a tight circuit around the ensnared mayor. Swiftly, winds began to whip as an air vortex formed, perfectly suited to draw the metahuman's smoke away. Time seemed to stretch into infinity, and in the singular moment Wally found himself in, his dread intensified. This was it, a seizure about to begin. His breath hitched, he didn't have time for this, not now. The smoke was thickening around him, the cries getting louder. He couldn't fail now, not with so much at stake.
Every instinct urged him to halt, but he pressed on, aware that the vortex's force could draw in more smoke. Ignoring his doubts, he clenched his fists, bracing himself for the impending pain, determined to fight it off. As time resumed and the race resumed with it, Wally didn't retreat but dove headfirst into the storm. Battling against the seizure, each passing moment amplified the agony, blurring his vision.
And then, something remarkable happened. Instead of succumbing to the seizure, he pushed past it, triggering a surge of Speed Force energy that supercharged his abilities. The golden lightning in his wake transformed into a dazzling white, propelling him to speeds he had never reached before. The vortex intensified, drawing in the smoky tendrils and hurling them high into the sky, dispersing them in the process.
The shroud lifted, and Wally turned in motion, finally catching sight of the metahuman attacker - a short, middle-aged man now cowering, knocked to the ground alongside the mayor by the intense wind tunnel conjured by Kid Flash.
Desperate, the man clenched his fists and commanded a torrent of smoke that seemed to burst from behind him, swelling as it raised upwards. Whether it was to attack him, or to hurt the mayor, Wally didn’t care. Moving at unprecedented speed, Wally reached Mayor Fox before the metahuman could even choose a target. Wally swiftly covered the mayor's mouth and nose with his hand, shielding him from the noxious fumes in case his speed faltered. In an instant, he darted back to the edge of the Civic Center square.
Screeching to a halt, Kid Flash emerged from super speed. The white lightning still engulfed his frame, and though he couldn't see it, his eyes burned with intense white light. Carefully, he laid the mayor down at his daughter's feet.
“Thank you!” Ashley Fox cried as she tended to her father.
Applause erupted from the crowd, cheers filling the air as Wally dashed back to apprehend the now feeble-looking Smokescreen, still reeling from the sudden dissipation of his smoky shroud. Wally's punch sent him sprawling, neutralising the threat and ensuring the mayor's safety.
Amidst the persisting cheers, the pain from the seizure gradually ebbed away, taking with it his heightened power. Wally felt like a deflating balloon, the excess energy and power seeping out like escaping helium. His heightened senses recalibrated, and the world resumed its normal speed and rhythm.
A lingering echo of the seizure, akin to the aftertaste of a potent drink, left him shivering. The hyper-awareness of his body and surroundings felt almost invasive after the distant, godlike power he had just experienced. His body, no longer buzzing with extra energy, felt heavy, as if he had been filled with lead. Each beat of his heart resounded loudly in his ears, his lungs aching from the exertion, and sweat trickling down his back, sticking his yellow suit to his skin.
The world around him, which had felt so distant, so removed, was abruptly vivid and pressing. The muffled sounds of the crowd became a cacophony of relieved murmurs and melodic jubilations. The smell of popcorn and cotton candy, once distant and faint, was now potent, mingling with the tangy scent of smoke and adrenaline in the air. He could feel every grain of dust and debris under his feet, the grit pressing into his skin through the fabric of his boots.
He felt drained and yet somehow more alive than ever, every sense heightened in the wake of the energy rush. And beneath it all, he carried a sense of satisfaction, knowing that despite the challenges posed by his unstable Speed Force connection, it had proven to be a formidable asset. Mayor Fox was safe, and the smoke villain had been defeated. As Kid Flash, Wally had conquered his personal obstacles and emerged victorious.
Yet, as Wally West, he continued to run a race against grief, responsibility, and his own fears—a race with no discernible finish line. His only choice was to keep running, hoping to push through every wall in his path. And on this day, running felt nothing short of fantastic.

The smell of brewing coffee enveloped Wally as he pushed open the door to Jitters, a comforting counterpoint to the chaos that typically defined his world. Amidst the hum of murmured conversation and clattering cups, the speedster found a slow-paced sanctuary, an oddly soothing anchor in a life measured in Mach speeds.
The barista behind the counter was a fresh face amid the familiar, a girl around Wally’s age with wavy hair pulled back into a messy ponytail, her name tag identifying her as ‘Rosie’. He had caught her in the midst of latte artistry, hands steady as she crafted a foam rosetta, her tongue peeking out at the corner of her mouth in concentrated effort.
"New here?" Wally asked, not really expecting anything. Friends were not something he had come to anticipate in this city. He was more comfortable confronting supervillains than making small talk, which was likely why Wally West remained mostly a stranger to everyone at his school.
Rosie's gaze shifted, disrupting the intricate art on her latte canvas. "Started this week," she responded, affixing a lid to the slightly marred latte before sending it down the counter. There was a flicker of disappointment in her eyes, quickly replaced by humour. "What about you? A regular?"
"Trying to be," Wally confessed, a smirk playing on his lips at the absurdity of it. "People rush in for caffeine, I’m here to catch my breath."
Rosie chuckled, her eyes gleaming with an unexpected understanding. "Quite the paradox."
A familiar cover caught his eye - a copy of the graphic novel 'Astra Nebula' nestled by the register. "You're into 'Astra Nebula'? Kind of avant-garde, isn’t it?"
Her eyes lit up with passion as she set aside her work. "I love it! How they weave so much real world commentary into these strange planets and their stories is… well, I don’t know how they do it. Wait till you get to Volume Three."
Wally blinked. His perception of 'Astra Nebula' was far less complex, focused on the high-octane action, and not on the layers of social commentary. "Yeah, the subtext is… pretty loaded," he offered, hoping his words rang true.
A knowing grin spread across Rosie's face as she let out a soft laugh. "You're in it for the space battles, aren't you?"
Wally blushed, his laughter joining hers. "You got me."
A fleeting connection, punctuated by shared laughter, hung between them, bridging the gap of unfamiliarity.
Just as the moment was beginning to stretch, a voice called out, signalling the end of Rosie's shift. "I need to get going," she said. "Someone else will take care of your order."
“I didn’t even order yet,” Wally replied with a smirk, realising the absent-mindedness that had led their conversation.
“Oh, right,” Rosie laughed, her eyes wide. “Stacy’s better at the latte art anyway.”
“Guess everyone needs a mentor,” Wally suggested, keeping the atmosphere light.
“Yeah, I suppose so,” Rosie agreed, moving to untie her apron. “See you around…”
“Wally,” he filled in.
"Tomorrow, Wally?" There was a hopefulness in her voice, a hint of a budding friendship that seemed more attainable than he'd dared to hope.
He offered a nod, warmth blooming in his chest. "Yeah, see you, Rosie."
As he placed his usual order with Stacy, Wally found himself wearing an unexpected smile. Stepping out of Jitters, he couldn't help but feel the seeds of anticipation sown. Maybe Central City had something more to offer for Wally West as well as for Kid Flash. He dared to hope.

Welcome back to my attempt to become a Reverse-Monolocke Master! After successfully getting through the boring Dragon Reverse Monolocke and the risky Fire Reverse Monolocke, it’s time to try a Reverse Monolocke of a “safer” type. “Safer” meaning that no Gym Leaders or Elite Five members will specialize in the type all my Pokemon will be weak to.
The game chosen is one of my favorites, HeartGold... Except the ‘HeartGold’ I’ll be playing has been given the Viet Crystal treatment! Along with the expected wacky text edits, the hakesmith removed Trade Evolutions, which will help me with quite a few of my Pokemon options.
As for the type everyone will be weak to? Well, that’ll be Ground! Yes, all my Pokemon live in fear of the Earth itself, heh. Pryce’s Piloswine might trip me up, but that won’t matter with powerful Fire-types on my side again.
These are my rules (featuring a new level cap rule):

• Base nuzlocke rules. Dead is dead but blackout is not a game over. Battle type is SHIFT. (SET annoyed me too much.)
• Only Pokémon weak to a certain type are allowed. Pokémon who lack the weakness, but gain it on evolution are allowed. Pokémon who lose the weakness on evolution are prohibited from evolving. Abilities that make a Pokemon immune to the Weakness Type are not allowed.
  • Temporary in-battle type changes that make a Pokemon immune to the Weakness Type are allowed, but similar forms that stick outside of battle are not. The type that a Pokemon is in outside of battle is what you should base viability on. (ex. Castform in a Fighting Rev-Mono can change to Sun Form in battle, but Castform’s Sun Form existing does not mean you can catch it in a Water Rev-Mono.)
• One chance of catching per route (first encounter), but only valid Pokémon count as encounters. I can check Bulbapedia’s HeartGold walkthrough to see whether or not a valid type appears on a route.
• Kantonian Dupes Clause: Dupes Clause is only present if a new Pokemon appears in that area. If not, you're getting a duplicate.
• Level cap is on par with the highest and lowest leveled Pokémon of the next ‘boss battle’ (gym leaders, rival battles, etc). Only one of my Pokemon may match the level of the boss’ Ace, the rest must be the same level as their weakest.
  • Since Johto has many 2-Pokemon Gym Leaders, the lowest level for such opponents will be lowered by one. (ex. Whitney’s lv. 19 and 17 becomes lv. 19 and 16) That also applies to the one ‘boss battle’ that has more than 2 Pokemon that are all the same level.
• Shiny clause: Any shiny that is weak to the chosen type may be caught and used no matter what. A shiny that does not have the weakness cannot be used but may still be caught and exchanged for either reviving a dead Pokémon or revisiting a previous route for another catch (all randomly determined). Oh, and a certain static shiny doesn’t count; Kill It.
• In-game trades between two valid Pokemon are free game. In-game trades where the requested Pokémon is non-valid but the given Pokémon is valid may also be accepted, but I must “pay” a sum of money equal to the given Pokémon’s base stat total * its base xp yield. This will make sure the best Pokémon don’t come cheap. Examples: Bulbasaur 20K, Venusaur 123K, Magikarp 8K, Gyarados 102K, Dratini 18K, Dragonite 162K, Mewtwo 208K, Chansey 177K, Blissey 328K. It should be pretty rare to find a trade like this and pretty challenging to get 100K together to spend on it, so I think it’s fairly balanced.
• Token rule, needed for rare types: For every route where I have to forfeit a catch because no valid type appears there, I get a token. 3 tokens can be spent to revisit a route where I know I can catch something. I can also use 2 tokens to catch in another subsection of a location (e.g. if Mount Moon has valid types on two floors and I missed a catch on Route 1 and 2, I can catch on two floors in Mount Moon).
• The run is considered complete after getting in the Hall of Fame. (Sorry Red fans, I’ve had enough Open World Pokemon from Violet.)

Starter Once again there’s only 1 Starter weak to Ground, so Joshi chose Rided the Cyndaquil (female, PapeBrave). Since this is a hack of Japanese HeartGold, names are limited to 5 characters. Joshi’s name comes from a Japanese word for girl/woman. It can also mean Miss, so Oak saying “Ms.Joshi?” after I put in her name made me laugh. As for the nickname theme, I figured since the names of Pokemon Species have been made unrecognizable thanks to the layers of translation they’ve been put through, I’ll just nickname them the new names and change it up for duplicates. (Which I’m sure I’ll have plenty of again. Remember those six boxed Gloom in the last run?)
Back to the game, Joshi went to get Elm’s Egg from ELF GRANDFATHEMr. Pokemon before running into a thief with a stolen Totodile in Cherrygrove City. Rided was lv. 7 from fighting Pokemon along the way, but Smokescreen didn’t make Totodile miss at all. Instead it winded up being a Spi-N/Leer fight until Rided’s next Prize/Tackle hit Totodile to yellow. For some reason the thief kept going with Leer the next turn, so the next Tackle knocked out ‘his’ gator.
Embarrassed by his defeat, the thief dropped his ID in his escape and Joshi picked it up briefly to see his name is Danji, a japanese word for boy. After diligently reporting him to the police, WUSIJI/Elm told Joshi she should take on the League Challenge, starting the run! ...But first I needed to make sure Joshi’s Mom wouldn’t take her money since I have two trades I’ll need to save for! (Though it looks like only one will be worth it.)
Strengths and weaknesses If you’ve read my Weakness Type document you would know that the types I can use are Fire-, Poison-, Electric-, Rock-, and Steel-types. Pokemon with one of those types and a sub-type of Grass, Bug, or Flying aren’t weak to Ground and therefore are banned. And like the rules say, the Levitate ability means Gastly and Koffing are banned; No Ghost-type for me :(
Aside from everyone being weak to Ground, two of those types are weak to Water, so I hope I get some good Electric-types. I’ll still have access to a bunch of status effects like last time, but I don’t think anyone will be able to induce Sleep? Many of my options are quite strong and have a pretty varied learnsets, too. Thankfully I shouldn’t have a rough start this time, since I should quickly get three of the five types.
Given that this is vanilla HeartGold, there’s no new Steel-type options compared to the last run, but there’s no reason to save their evolutions this time either. (Though some won’t be able to evolve due to unfortunate requirements for trade evolutions.) Unlike the last run, I don’t think I have any terrible choices, but Magcargo and Flareon aren’t exactly the best either.
Opportunities and expectations Here’s a quick overview of all the Pokemon I can catch:
Ekans/Arbok: I won’t have a third Arbok die while using Dig!
Nidoran♀/Nidorina/Nidoqueen+Nidoran♂/Nidorino/Nidoking: Incredibly strong, but I might need to put off their final evolutions for Poison Fang/Jab.
Growlithe/Arcanine: A very good boy. We’ll need that Bite for Morty.
Tentacool/Tentacruel: Toxic Spikes, anyone?
Geodude/GraveleGolem: Might just solo Falkner with one of these.
Ponyta/Rapidash: Probably won’t see much use since they only appear on the routes leading to the League.
Magnemite/Magneton/Magnezone: Hey, they have Steel-type moves in this game!
GrimeMuk: Learns a surprising amount of varied TMs.
Onix/Steelix: Sadly I need the Metal Coat to evolve Onix, which is post-game, but I know Onix is dependable from the last run.
Voltorb/Electrode: Incredibly speedy, but they’ll need to learn Thunderbolt via TM.
Rhyhorn/Rhydon/Rhyperior: Rock Wrecker would be nice, but Protector is post-game.
Magby/MagmaMagmortar: Just as good as the Cyndaquil Line, but Magmarizer is also post-game.
Eevee/Jolteon: has a nice variety of moves thanks to Pin Missile and Double Kick.
OR Flareon: Not worth it.
Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion: A wonderful Fire-type starter. I’ll only be getting one, though.
Chinchou/Lanturn: I love these guys! Signal Beam could be helpful.
Mareep/Flaaffy/Ampharos: Hopefully they’ll be just as great when they’re not a Dragon.
Bonsly/Sudowoodo: Their Fighting-type moves will help, but once again, I’ll only get one.
Slugma/Magcargo: Slow, with a lot of weaknesses.
Corsola: I love Corsola, but I’m not sure if it’s good for Nuzlockes.
LarvitaPupitaTyranitar: My only Dark-type option.
As for Raikou and Entei: I’d be lucky to find them at all; I’m bad at tracking down Roaming Legendaries. And they’ll have to show up in a route without an encounter, too.
Vulpix/Ninetales: SoulSilver Exclusives, sadly.
Even with a ton of Pokemon being locked behind the Post-Game, I have a good amount of Pokemon I can use!
Thinking about my expectations for the run... Well, when I finally wrote up all the level caps I realized everything was really tight, especially Falkner and his lv. 13 & 9 combo. I already wrote how I might deal with that above, though.
Also, as I’m writing this I realize I don’t have a good answer for Whitney or Chuck’s Primeape, but I’m sure I can just power through them? Hope one of my three(?) Geodudes is a girl, though.

I have an old emolga and noticed he was given a new move, acrobatics. I burned 4 charged tms only to have it go from aerial ace to thunderbolt and repeat(discharge is my other charge move). Is acrobatics available as a normal charged move for him now or is it only elite?
