2023.06.10 06:46 AlphaArmadillo (EST) 22 M looking to form close, long-term friendships.

Hello all, I've made a post to see if I can find the right kind of people for me with similar values when it comes to forming a close and supportive friendship. I have often found it draining to have to keep messaging so many people online that I'd like to limit any potential pitfalls as much as possible when it comes to making friends online. From my experience, a lot of friendships don't seem to work out when there is not as much initiation from both sides which is something that I really value. I really appreciate direct and honest communication along with a willingness to work through things. I expect a certain amount of effort when it comes to responses. Although I tend to have higher standards when it comes to friends, I do not want that to deter others from wanting to reach out as I am quite open and understanding. I'm a 22-year-old and in my final year of college. I'm majoring in psychology as I want to be able to become a therapist/counselor and help others out where possible. Once I graduate, I am planning to pursue a master's degree in counseling. I live on the east coast side of the US and my MBTI personality type is INFJ as well. It's usually easier to mention this ahead of time but I have a physical disability that requires me to use a wheelchair.
Some of my interests and activities that I enjoy doing include playing games on pc, ps5, and switch, learning about other people and their experiences, watching videos or shows online, and voice chatting. Basically, anything where we can spend time together online in some way. A few of my favorite games are Final Fantasy 14, Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3, Persona 5, Pokemon, Skyrim, and The Witcher 3. I am also open to talking about and trying out other games. As for shows and watching videos, I do enjoy watching anime from time to time and wouldn't mind watching them with others. Additionally, if you have any suggestions or things you like to watch I would be happy to watch those as well. We could even just watch stuff on youtube which is where I usually go lol.
I'm looking for the kind of one-on-one friendship where we can message/talk about whatever is on our minds throughout the day and be able to share everyday and deeper, more meaningful conversations. I enjoy having conversations on philosophical topics, anything science or education related, asking random questions, and psychology (of course) or mental health in general. It would be great to have long-term friends who prioritize a consistent, genuinely caring friendship and who are willing to put in the same amount of effort. I want to have friendships where we can open up to each other as much as we are comfortable with and be able to check in on each other.
I'm not expecting to become great friends with everyone but I am willing to give others a fair chance. Realistically, I want to invest in just a few quality friendships. Building a good friendship takes time and I only want to have friends who are specifically looking for something long-term. As long as you are willing to show that you value building the kind of friendship that I do, that is what I care about most.

2023.06.10 06:31 Significant-Sock-450 To Be Loved, To Be Free

(I wrote this poem about my experience with online grooming to help work through the inexplicable pain I felt. I continued on to compete in Speech and Debate with this piece and at this point just want a place to archive it. I hope it reaches someone who needs to hear it.)
[5 min read]
"It started around June 21st, 2021. Which means it's been just over a year, since I was groomed by an adult man. I stand here today to prove to no one but myself, that I can talk about this chapter of my life, and that it is okay to. I am here to be living proof that abuse doesn't mean the end. That you are never too far gone, and you're always worth loving. My abuse story will never look like someone elses, but it stands as an example to prove how some adults are able to manipulate children, even in seemingly passive ways. It took maybe seventeen months to realize the abuse I went through is valid, and worth sharing to help prevent others from making my same mistakes."
I was 16 And a dreamer wanna-be A blue bird in training I live in a beautiful golden cage, With food and water, And a key.
With everything I needed, Discontent reared her ugly head. Shallow hatred of the ways I'd speant my life Begging for something Of substance I didn't want money, or friends, I wanted to send a piece of myself away To trust a man To be grown up For someone To understand
I was 16 And a dreamer turned bird-clipping-its-own-wings Safety meant nothing to me My dreams were jungle palm And my self-hatred a machete
I would have loved to cut through To prove to everyone who knew What was the true center I was nothing, of what I presented- Not the beautiful palm Or crystal waves- I was the hatred The ugly The disinterested way I was Unhappy to be Who sent a piece of unhappy across the sea To a man who knew
I was 16 I still believed in Prince Charming So I gave him the key. I let him inside my cage And smiled and said, "See? We're meant to be! It's the perfect size, You can sleep there, And I'll keep the peace." This arrangement just so happened to be, That I kept things clean, While he turned beautiful words Against me.
I danced in the compliments Reveled in the sweetness of voice Because when given the choice I could not be happy with me
I, a child with tear wrought eyes, Sought sanctuary secretly inside This man's lies. Lies which qualmed the seas of Self hate quieted the jungle cats Who ate my insides Letting the world exacerbate My deteriorating brain
And when caught in that cage, Forced to face The intimacies of men There simply, was no escape.
Health class doesn't teach you How thoes images scar The cage tightened around me Like a dinosaur in tar, Forcing me to confront What my mind couldn't spar-
I told myself "I am 16, This is normal Girls and guys get less formal After less time then this."
So I stayed. I cut my own damn wings Because It seemed Men would only want me For breast For thigh To cast my eye upon him And do as he pleased
I was his, entirely But he was nothing for me. Nothing but vocal chords echoing Through my body Picking out my insecurities With tweezers to keep me tethered. He told me everything I wanted to hear, Sending soft smiles Through my ears While remaining That I was gaining Around the waist
So to compensate I scraped wing and bone Clip off what was me Suck in Pinch sides Cling to his words Listen to lies Roll back your eyes His sweet sighs Comply His noble arrogant pride Comply comply
I was 16 And believed the problem was me If I cried, I was weak If I said no, I was the creep I begged for sleep And got scolded for Trying to leave
I was 16 And learned Prince Charming was a jerk. He didn't care if I said no He only cared that it hurt!
Though feathers regrow And no scars can be seen Inside my golden cage I scream
He never touched me. Still I shrink from any man's company Compliments are manipulation Smiles see right through me Imaginary scenes of the empty threats you sewed to me Haunt my waking hours And devastate any of my dreams This man never picked the lock, I gave him the fucking key
I was only 16 and a year between is nothing to me Now showing my friends My clipped wings Begging for their sympathy That they will let the past be And understand 16 year old me Doesn't want to be seen
I am damaged. A Little girl has seen things she never wanted to see. I spent time after trying to Reclaim the old me. Give me a reason Not to end All my relationships with men Before the age of 10 Because then, there was purity. Sweetness in the eye of she who see Men as a saftey net. And not as an open threat
I'm only sharing, out of necessity Because he shared everything with me A pass time that became blackmail To personal items on the paleness of my body
My brain keeps ping-ponging between He loves me He loves me not How can I stop? Attentions addicting Cocaine to the brain Of the beat up and lonley The 16 year old bird With only one melody, "I mean nothing in the eyes of society Because no one recognizes when there's grooming"
A fact that has been growing ever since My sense of self worth, My passion in life, My body, my secrets, my cries, All of it no longer mine
I sent that piece of myself away All to say, "I loved a man once. See how grown I am? He chose me over all the other little girls. There was passion in all that he touched He touched me- My heart I mean. He treated me like a woman And threatened me just the same."
You know there was pride In the way he cried I was "opening up." Like exposing my body Was something to be copied
And of course... Once was never enough And if I ever said no, God help the soul, He said he'd take it from me anyway Would travel states, Drive night and day, To claim and rape me
I was 16 And it was summer break
Of course when I explained The things he claimed Scared me, Suddenly- It was all a silly little fib.
Now you stare me in the eyes And explain to me How a glorified rape joke- Was funny
The terror it instilled In a still-growing teen And how how I laughed and sighed And agreed- It was funny.
Of course, it never really was
I wish I remember how it ended. I'd like to say I blew up And he surrendered And admitted to his Abuse of power- But.. no. I'm sure I just said, "I have to go" And never looked back At what I used to call home
I still live with the effect, The names he used to say, The way he'd make me behave Especially how he had trained my brain To think that shit Was normal.
But everyday I realize The same stupid thing: Nothing about my past Is ever going to change.
I can cry Scream Rearrange every dream Fix every seam- But even blue birds clip their wings, Occasionally
Though feathers regrow, And no scars can be seen, Now inside my golden cage- I can sing

2023.06.10 06:11 Tsaddiq Questions for career about patient empathy, compassion, professionalism, etc. as a Radiotherapist

TL;DR For you radiotherapists and dosimetrists specifically, did your education do a good job of training the skills of compassionate language and empathy? Or give a good sense of how to support people emotionally and professionally?
Of course, any medical professionals can answer this as well. I have what I'd consider fairly good people skills, but I still have my concerns about developing this in a professional atmosphere with medical patients.

I feel a strong pull towards helping people, and because I am interested in the power of technology to help people (by treating them/improving their health for ex.) I have chosen to pursue acquiring certs in advanced imaging and linear accelerators (radiotherapy) to treat cancer. Medical work, on an oncology team, in a hospital or outpatient center.
My concern is that even a strong drive to work with and help people, and to learn the technology that facilitates one way of doing that, is not enough to face the reality of working with cancer patients. Not all outcomes will be success stories, people die, people will really suffer through their comprehensive treatment sometimes.
What I crave is not just this technical education, but a personal acknowledgement and acceptance of suffering and death (been working on that pretty well), and the skills to help people in any way through that themselves. The right language, proper listening, comforting people, maintaining boundaries as a professional but still acting like a person etc. What I really fear with this kind of work is not a lack of my own mental and emotional fortitude necessarily, but that I won't know what to do or say sometimes for vulnerable people in terms of offering compassion and support.

Schooling is the most important thing we do in Crmaam In fact, the holy city of Crmaam is centered around a school, which is where the holy Tree is.
As such, we must build our own Crmaam education system, for all Crmaam children, This should done, not only to avoid critical theory , but to provide a fully Crmaam childhood experience. All children, regardless of who their parents are, are taught in the same schools from the -1st to the 5th grade. The school is not in 1 building, even in colder climates. Each classroom should be a separate building. The school should be placed in a natural setting, where kids are able to walk into the wilderness directly from the school property.
When students in Crmaam elementary schools walk from class to class, they should go by themselves and not walk in a line. Likewise, all Crmaam elementary students do not wear uniforms. Elementary schools in Crmaam are day schools, and are co-ed.
In elementary and middle school, children learn certain subjects. The students learn Math, English, Ithkuil and other subjects. In math, the main focus is on using numbers and creating the best possible curriculum, and also showing why math things are a certain way. The sciences are relatively unchanged. In English class, non-Crmaam books written after 1923 are not rea, to avoid critical theory. In history class, history is taught from a non-CRT viewpoint. CRT words, such as “racist” are not used. All students are required to learn three languages in school, the dominant language, the indigenous language, and Ithkuil.
The school is fully trilingual, with students expected to know 3 languages by the end of the fifth grade. The majority language(e.g. English) is used for math, English, Science, Physical Education, secular field trips, and events that involve interacting with the non-Crmaam. The indigenous language (such as Ptjanjanjara) is used for history, geography, art, drama, and Indigenous Language. Finally, Ithkuil is used for Crmaam and school events, Crmaam field trips, and for civics class. Civics class teaches them about Crmaam values, and encourages obedience to the Miquon way.
Physical education is mostly focused on emphasizing the values of teamwork, and risk-taking. In addition, all elementary students take All students get at least an hour of recess every day. At recess, the students play on the playground equipment. If a kid is injured safety rules are not added, because safety rules tend to be cumulative. 2023.06.10 03:12 AnthemRen The Forgotten Era: 200,000-100,000 B.M.R.

The Forgotten Era: 200,000-100,000 B.M.R.
The Forgotten Era was a dark and tumultuous period in the history of Tar, leaving a profound impact on the collective memory of its inhabitants. This era earned its name due to the significant loss and destruction of historical records and knowledge, as well as the suppression of human potential and the erasure of their cultural heritage.
During this time, a belief emerged that the Tassik, a reptilian species born from the chaotic forces of the realm, played a significant role in the transition of the Eternals into humans. It was theorized that the Tassik, known for their mastery of chaotic magic, harnessed the volatile energies of the realm to shape and mold the Eternals, transforming them into a new race known as humans. This transformation marked a profound shift in the balance of power and set the stage for the ensuing enslavement and oppression of humanity.
As the Tassik rose to dominance, they saw the emerging humans as a lesser race and subjected them to a brutal and cruel enslavement. For a staggering million years, humanity endured unimaginable hardships under the dominion of the Tassik. These reptilian overlords ruled with an iron fist, known for their cruelty, disregard for the well-being of others, and an unwavering belief in their own superiority. They viewed any beings different from themselves as inherently inferior, and thus subjected the humans to harsh labor, servitude, and unrelenting oppression.
The Tassik, with their mastery of chaotic magic, were able to manipulate and suppress the human potential, stripping away their connection to the cosmic energies that had once flowed through the Eternals. They exploited this newfound power imbalance, using their control over the chaotic forces to suppress human creativity, progress, and the free exchange of ideas. The once vibrant and diverse human societies that had flourished under the Eternals' guidance were reduced to mere shadows of their former selves, as their true identities were subsumed by the weight of Tassik oppression.
During this dark era, the humans faced countless challenges and struggles. Their culture and knowledge were overshadowed by the oppressive rule of the Tassik, who sought to erase their history and suppress their true potential. The Tassik's domination stifled human creativity, progress, and the free exchange of ideas. The once-vibrant centers of art, science, and innovation were silenced, replaced by an atmosphere of fear and subservience.
Unfortunately, much of the history and cultural heritage of humanity and, by extension, the Eternals during the Forgotten Era has been lost or destroyed. The Tassik's tyrannical rule included the deliberate erasure of human history, the destruction of historical artifacts, and the suppression of knowledge. Only fragments of stories and whispers of their resilience and endurance have managed to survive the passage of time.
The Forgotten Era stands as a stark reminder of the consequences of unchecked power and oppression. It is a testament to the indomitable spirit of humanity, as they endured unimaginable suffering and persevered in the face of adversity. It serves as a somber chapter in the Chronicles of Tar, one that highlights the importance of preserving history and learning from the mistakes of the past. The era serves as a reminder that the suppression of knowledge and the stifling of human potential can have far-reaching consequences for the progress and well-being of a society.
While the era represents a period of immense loss, it also underscores the importance of preserving history, safeguarding cultural heritage, and learning from the mistakes of the past. The scars of the Forgotten Era serve as a constant reminder of the enduring value of freedom, resilience, and the pursuit of truth in the face of oppressive forces.

2023.06.10 03:06 TimeNSpace1 A post to inspire hope

This theme has been quite a ride, and it’s definitely among the most difficult I’ve ever had to deal with. I started to experience this in March of this year, and it really put me into quite a depression to the point where I couldn’t focus at work or be in peace. I started talk therapy, and I’m currently looking into medicine. Lately, I have been at probably the most peace I have been. Sometimes even questioning if I have it at all, I have started to feel more like me, who I’ve always been; a man! I can’t tell you how many times that this felt so real and had no escape. And now I feel like I’m slowly pulling out, and life is feeling good again. I know I could relapse and I’m not expecting for this to just fully go away, but I just want you to know that this doesn’t have to be your whole life. I’m no longer fighting with myself lately, I’m just, me. Some tips I’ve learned along the way that I’d like to share with you guys:
Do not browse Reddit constantly, especially subreddits that center around transgender topics, and look for some kind of reassurance. It took me a while to learn but, you CANNOT hope to gain clarity about your own journey and life through the experiences of others. You are also exposing yourself to posts that can trigger you, and make you feel as though this is real and you’re in denial. Don’t do this. In fact, the goal is to hopefully do away this Reddit sub altogether.
Stop your compulsions, don’t compare how you like seeing yourself, a man, non binary, woman, etc. Also if you have any physical compulsions, trying on clothes, finger tapping, magical numbers, breathing or number equality, etc. STOP. By “protecting” yourself with these compulsions, you are enforcing the idea that you have something to be protected from.
Stop fighting the fear. Say maybe, maybe not. Do not keep strictly fighting the idea that you are NOT trans. This only reinforces ideas that you are in denial and that you are hiding from yourself. Say, “well, I could be! And if I am, I get the final call on what I want to do. And that very well could be to do nothing.”
If you have the resources to do ERP and get medicine, do so. Humanity has worked hard to finally reach the point in the world where mental health is a priority.
Lastly, enjoy your life. It really doesn’t matter what happens. This earth and planet is so beautiful, against all odds, you EXIST. You get to be HERE. Be social, do the things you like, remember to be here, right now. Life is meant to be lived an enjoyed. I’m always here for you guys!

"PSYCHIATRISTS LEAD THE WAY
For decades, it has been the job of those within the psychology field to introduce to the American Public the idea that those who believe in God are sick and must be "enlightened" or eliminated, and that "immorality" is the only path to the NEW AGE. And indeed it is. The several quotes below will drive home this well planned scenario.
BERTRAND RUSSELL, philosopher, educator and atheist: "I think the subject which will be of most importance politically is Mass Psychology. ...It's importance has been enormously increased by the growth of modern methods of propaganda ...Although this science will be diligently studied, it will be rigidly confined to the governing class (Elite). The populace will not be allowed to know how its convictions were generated."
One of the great Psychiatric Gurus of Mental Health speaks:
Dr. G. BROCK CHISHOLM, First head of the World Federation of Mental Health (another N.W.O. group.) "What basic psychological distortion can be found in every civilization of which we know anything? The only psychological force capable of producing these perversions is morality - the concept of right and wrong. The re-interpretation and eventual eradication of the concept of right and wrong are the belated objectives of nearly all of psychotherapy."
"The pretense is made that to do away with right and wrong would produce uncivilized people, immorality, lawlessness, and social chaos. The fact is that most psychiatrists and psychologists and other respected people have escaped from moral chains and are able to think freely." Taken from the updated book, NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON, by J.A. Stormer
Police Officers have been among the first to notice that such teachings have produced exactly the results he (the good Doctor) said they would not produce. He lied. There is no greater promoter of change than FEAR, and no greater creator of fear than chaos and lawlessness throughout a nation. The enemy of our system knows that immorality breeds chaos and lawlessness. Chaos and lawlessness breads fear in the people and when fearful enough the people will accept any solution. Guess what the solution is?
We agree with Dr. Chisholm, that most of these minions of "psychobabble" have truly "escaped" from any and all moral foundation in their lives. Anything their patients dream up is perfectly okay and encouraged by most such "professionals". This "there is no right or wrong" psycho-babble is what is being drilled into the heads of those American school children whose parents have unfortunately placed them in Government Indoctrination Centers which we erroneously call our "educational" system.
In case any officer reading this publication thinks that this change in the morals of our nation is accidental, he or she must read the book, "THE SOVIET ART OF BRAINWASHING - A Synthesis of the Russian Textbook on Psycho-politics", written by Kenneth Goff. In this book, Goff, a one time dues-paying member of the Communist Party, writes: "During my training I was trained in Psycho-politics. This was the art of capturing the minds of a nation through brainwashing and fake mental health."
Kenneth Goff paid a high price for his efforts to alert the American people. After attempting to inform America of Marxist-trained Psychologists being placed inside the U.S. to change the morals and beliefs of our nation, he mysteriously died from poisoning in 1943. His farewell in his book says: "This manual of the Communist Party should be in the hands of every loyal American, that they may be alerted to the fact that it is not always by armies and guns that a nation is conquered." In this book is found an address by Beria, the Head of the Lenin School of Psycho-politics. His 1933 address to a group of American/Marxist Psychology students is most revealing.
Speaking to this group who would be returning to ply their treachery in the U.S. he says:
"A psycho-politician must work hard to produce the maximum chaos in the fields of 'mental healing.' You must work until every teacher of psychology unknowingly or knowingly teaches only Communist doctrine under the guise of 'psychology.' You must labor until every doctor and psychiatrist is either a psycho-politician or an unwitting assistant to our aims. You must labor until we have dominion of the minds and bodies of every important person in your nation (America). You must work until suicide arising from mental imbalance is common and calls forth no general investigation or remark... You must dominate as respected men the fields of psychiatry and psychology. You must dominate the hospitals and universities... You can come and take your instructions as worshippers of Freud...
Psycho-politics is a solemn charge. With it you can erase our enemies as insects. You (psychologists) can change their (leaders) loyalties by psycho-politics. Given a short time with a psycho-politician you can alter forever the loyalty of a soldier in our hands or a statesman or a leader in his own country, or you can destroy his mind.
Use the courts, use the judges, use the Constitution of the country, use its medical societies and its laws to further our ends... By psycho-politics create chaos. Leave a nation leaderless. Kill our enemies. And bring to Earth, through Communism, the greatest peace man has ever known. Thank you."
(This is only part of Beria's speech to the visiting American psychology students.)
NOTE: Everything he asked these students to accomplish when they returned to practice their "art" in our nation has occurred. And now we can look forward to that "peace" he promised under the U.N. New World Order."

You have just taken on a new role as a marketing manager for a new hospital in Ajo, Arizona. There is one other hospital in town, but it is 67.3 miles from the center of town, making it difficult for many residents to get to. The new hospital, Ajo Medical Center (AMC), will be much more accessible to a number of people who live further in town.
As you prepare to take on this role, watch the following video clips on branding and marketing. You will use the content of the videos to consider how the practices of Moving Brands might be applied to the marketing strategy of Ajo Medical Center.
Watch the following video case study clips:
· Chapter 1: Brand Vs. Branding.
· Chapter 3: What's the Difference Between Branding and Marketing?
The CEO of AMC has asked you to create a 4-6 page proposal in which you provide a competitive marketing entry strategy and a communication strategy and suggest marketing research tools for the new hospital.
Your proposal should include the following items:
  1. A market analysis (SWOT or otherwise) to determine the best approach for market entry.
  2. An overview of the marketing entry strategy you are proposing based on the information gathered in your analysis and concluding with how your hospital differentiates itself from the existing hospital in town.
  3. An overview of the communication strategy you are proposing, also based on information gathered during your analysis.
  4. A list of suggested marketing research tools and why those tools would be a good fit for use at AMC.
Keep in mind that this proposal is for the CEO, so the proposal should also:
· Contain accurate and clearly written information.
· Be professional in appearance.
· Use headings.
· Incorporate colors and/or graphs and charts as appropriate.
· Use 4-5 sources to support your writing. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your source slide at least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing, and citation, access the library or review library guides.
· A resources page at the end of the proposal, cited using the Strayer Writing Standards format. Note that these pages are not counted as part of the 4-6 page requirement.
This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The library is your home for SWS assistance, including citations and formatting. Please refer to the Library site for all support. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment:
· Propose competitive marketing entry strategies, communication strategies, and marketing research tools for health care organizations.

2023.06.09 22:06 cm-1414 How Carbondale became an abortion oasis in a part of the country known for being an abortion desert.

Have you heard of Carbondale, Illinois?
Carbondale is a small college town located in rural Illinois. Even though it is located in a more conservative area of the state, the town has a history of political activism dating back to the Vietnam war. The town is also the closest abortion destination for more than 1.2 million women living in the South.
Why Carbondale? How did this small rural college town become an abortion destination?
Even before Roe vs. Wade was overturned, Jennifer Peppers, the CEO of Choices Center for Reproductive Healthcare in Memphis, Tennessee, started looking for a location where she could set up an abortion clinic. She anticipated that if Roe vs. Wade was overturned, Tennessee’s abortion trigger law would be enacted.
Carbondale was the perfect fit! Not only is the town located in the state of Illinois, where abortion remains legal (with some restrictions), it is also in the ideal location. The town is closer to Mississippi and Alabama than the city of Chicago, which makes it a perfect abortion destination location for those living in southern states.
The town is also home to Southern Illinois University, which has made Carbondale a historically democratically leaning city. In addition, there was already support from community leaders and volunteers there even before beginning construction on the new health clinics**.**

2023.06.09 21:59 sufficiently-jacked Struggling to find the pro's of my situation...

A multi-level issue here and I don’t even know how to explain it all without a novel. I will TRY to keep it short. I just feel like I am getting zero wins, I leave work happy and come into a home that drags the joy out of me. I used to be a healthy balance of optimistic & realist, feet on the ground kind of guy. Now I find myself quick to anger, short bandwidth at work, and just all around more negative. I am at the end of my rope here and I am miserable. A man shouldn’t seek to be blissfully happy but he should seek to not be miserable.
I’m 36 (M), she’s 33 (F). Two SK’s 13 and 12. We have a beautiful son together who is incredible and perfect! But he and I are in a bad situation thanks to some poor decisions I’ve made. Or maybe I got duped I don’t know.
Met in Feb 2020, Married Nov 2021. I’ve always been picky and never met anyone good. She checked all the boxes. Aligned values, health, humor, she has hobbies, she had work ethic, wasn’t self obsessed, etc. She looked at me and listened to me like no one ever had. We’re both fit and she is gorgeous. It all felt right and great!
Didn’t meet her kids for 4 months, was weary about it but we felt like such a great match for each other that I wanted to try. The time spent with them of course was sparse since she usually came to spend time with me when they were at their bio dads. They were respectful and well behaved, very fun, when the time was spent. Anytime I went to their house it was spotless clean. Before we got married there were some red flags I chose to justify…she bit my head off a few times for stupid things. Kids were bad. Just some subtle clues. It’s hard to gauge the reality in those moments.
We get pregnant Feb 2022, planned. Things are still alright but this was the month some of the truth started coming out, honeymoon phase ends too soon. Kids become extremely messy, do the opposite of what their told, hyper desperate attempts for attention, interrupting, breaking things around the house, sneaking food not for them in their room, just suddenly all at once changing. This is BEFORE they found out we were pregnant (we waited 3 months to tell them which would be late April 2022). So I started worrying what was ahead but remained optimistic.
I make a very good amount of money, 7 figures some years. Which I never really brought up in a bragging manner, this wasn’t a sugar mama situation. I had a beautiful loft and nice things, but I don’t think any of them know the extent of the work I’ve accomplished. I own 2 e-commerce businesses and as of the last few years buy / sell commercial real estate. Her kids started asking for more and more things, demanding, expecting. Pitching fits when they don’t get them (I have to assume their dad is in their ear on some of this…). I bought us a beautiful home to live in…they weren’t living large when I met them.
Bio dad was invisible until March 2022 (she left him btw). The oldest brought us all these issues that were going on at her dads, which my wife reacted to by calling him and shouting (which seemed justified at the time). It started a complete war, he was constantly changing the rules and just creating chaos. Met a woman from Iraq who lived here for 20+ years but wanted to bring them to Iraq for their wedding. Ended up in court again. I PAID FOR IT ALL BECAUSE I WAS PRESSURED AND HAD NO CHOICE. She / we lost and they went to Iraq. They came back fine but all that damage was done. And then entire year of 2022, when it’s supposed to be a beautiful time of my first child, most days its 30-50% about the bio dad and all the conflict and chaos. That pure time was taken from me, from us. I don’t want to be selfish but I feel I am in last place.
TURNS OUT SD12 lied about everything that he was doing toxic or bad she got an iPhone on her bday and we read her texts where it all caved in. We confronted she admitted. Fast forward now we learned she is a compulsive liar and almost everything she says or does is a lie in effect. She is matching all the traits for antisocial personality disorder. She made up a SLEW of things about me (saying I screamed at her and verbally abuse her) to her dad and my mother in law. ALL untrue but it’s given me even more battles and riffs for my wife and I, her parents treat me differently now. Bio dad never mentioned it…I have to wonder if he knows it’s untrue and just rolls his eyes.
SD11 is a whole mess. I am not exaggerating the only things she speaks are bragging, whining, or being MEAN as hell…almost always interrupting and won’t stop talking even if she’s being fussed at for it. EVERYTHING she does is for attention even negative. She falls on purpose, she breaks things on purpose, she is ALWAYS sick, always coughing, she laughs overly hard at things that aren’t funny (no she’s not autistic). Even when you give her tons of attention for two weeks the well just gets deeper and then she needs MORE. It’s like a drug to her, completely untamable situation. She’s also very overweight, and knows how to get away with over eating. Yes it’s sad she’s doing it but I have no control so now I am venting on reddit about it. She eats very slow and gets 2nds 3rds 4ths over the course of 1.5 hours. She asks for dessert every night, the answer is NO, she asks again 5m later, NO, and the 3rd one another 5m later YES. If the answer continues to be no, she will wait until we’re asleep and sneak it upstairs. I have caught her in the act and told my wife, she blew it off. I counted her calories…she’s 4.5 feet tall and will regularly eat 3,500+ calories then whine all night about her stomach. She shits her pants at school, she does not have a medical condition we checked. Wife is aware and says “poor girl” because she’s very large but will only create solutions temporarily.
Bio dad is a pretty standard charismatic narcissist. Is nice, creates issues but acts like the other person is the irrational one, refuses to see his fault in the matter, doubles down, etc. He has no boundaries and knocked on our door and would walk in. I would have to tell him let’s go back outside. Eventually yelling at him and telling him to never do it again. One time during the Iraq chaos I come home to them yelling at each other in the yard and had to run up and tell everyone to shut up. Told my wife to go inside and followed her in. Then he left.
She then started a fight saying I should support her more, no one sees what she’s been through with him, etc etc. I felt like I was just a punching bag for her anger which is fine sometimes. She’d probably apologize later. I just nod and agree, wait some time then hug her…she says “I don’t know what the hell you’re doing…” then we don’t talk for 3 days. Completely stone walled. He says things to get under her skin, and gets the anger and reaction he wants (Narcissistic). When I tell her to approach it differently to get the result she wants, after some back and forth it ends in a fight. She says I don’t support her and I don’t understand what she’s been through and how hard it is.
I start bringing up issues about her kids, or the amount of time spent talking about their bio dad, in a calm and productive manner (I extensively researched how to positively communicate with an emotional wife, and either way was raised with good comm skills). Within minutes it’s “You don’t know shit about raising kids” and “You’re so mean and abusive”. As I try to de-escalate she finds anything and everything to latch onto that’s better…very standard crap like “OH so I’m derailing now…NO YOU’RE JUST NOT GETTING IT”.
No matter how big or how small the issue is, it turns into a massive blow out, she pulls out the most hurtful big guns she can think of. Issue is never resolved or communicated. I am stonewalled for 1 to 7 days. I never lose my cool and always think about the things I am going to say. It’s literally impossible to put my foot down calmly, irrationally, sweetly, anything. Because no matter what she plays mental gymnastics and as I am trying to de-escalate and get back on topic, while taking pretty hurtful blows, a door will be slammed and it’s all over. She finds a way to blame me and move on.
For the record I never bring up my money contribution to the matter, she quit work a few months before having our son, and hasn’t worked since. Which I prefer because she doesn’t have to and being a mom is a full time job and she has many side hustles on Etsy to keep her true to herself and centered (or so I think). This means I pay for A LOT of the SK’s stuff and with my situation the last 2 years I am really beginning to resent EVERYONE involved. I get no thanks, no appreciation. In fact during fights, despite never bringing up money, which has been a MASSIVE value adder for all of their lives, my wife tells me she doesn’t need any of it and it means nothing to her. WELL YOU ALL REALLY APPRECIATE THE SPOILS OF IT ALL. Even though I worked 12-14 hour days for 10 years to get where I am at, no handouts, it’s all devalued as a contribution to the marriage and written off. Sad.
After being stonewalled she will eventually hug me and say I don’t want to fight with you, I love you. And I will say me either, we don’t have to, I just want to work this out and we’ll be happier for it. I get either “I love you, I would never cause you problems or hurt you!” Or “I just want to enjoy our night / weekend whatever time it is together.” It’s never the right time. A lot of avoidance or kicking the can down the road. Then she is really sweet and great for 3-4 weeks, then it slowly goes back to biting my head off and getting a tone. I stay silent to keep the peace for a few weeks then I can’t take it anymore so I stand up for myself and stand my ground. Same thing happens over again.
Oh we went on a great lavish vacation early 2022, after the first one that was a nightmare…I was pressured into one more. And then I said no more for 3 years. Which turned into a massive MASSIVE fight with her telling me to move out at the end, then after a few days trying to act like that didn’t happen. Now I am being pressured into buying a new home since we outgrew ours.
So I am dealing with a marriage of very poor communication, AND I have the LEAST interesting kids ever (sorry but its true), they have zero skills, cannot have a conversation to save their life (all they do is ask me how my day was and when I answer with a sentence or more they just stare at me), no manners, no obedience, but they both act so sweet and cordial when I enter the home, and they immediately say sorry when we get onto them, but then they go right back to doing it. They lie, they fake things for attention, they can’t even walk behind us without bumping into us. Some of these things you’d expect from a 5 or 6 year old but now 10+. They are just really showing non pro-social behaviors and even seeing their friends leave them in the dust. And from the moment we had our son, I dislike them more...
My wife’s parenting style is a little reactive at times. She yells at them but doesn’t seem to understand root causes and how to go upstream to solve. She expects greatness but doesn’t know how to put in the time (their dad is a bigger issue). Her mom was really mean and toxic toward her growing up so with that it’s she really understand how to give and accept love or communicate calmly. Wife says all the time she doesn’t like the two girls, and how bad they are, and how hard she tries but no matter what they're awful. So she sees it. And when I try to make suggestions shes avoidant or it ends up in a fight. She’s an INCREDIBLE super mom to our son though. Which is great…
I realize this group is mostly women, and they will say her behavior is pre or post pregnancy. It’s not...there were watered down / held back situations that happened before all that. I even was considering leaving then we got pregnant. Yes it was planned but you can hold onto hope and have reality slapping you in the face at the same time.
Okay so it was a novel sorry. I am sad to think of leaving the marriage because we have an 8 month old who deserves better than this…I feel like I am putting in so much work into the marriage. I am reading books. I am in therapy myself which I have never done. I look at myself to see if I am the problem. I brought SO MUCH love and yes, financial value, to the relationship. I am getting none of that in return. She is keeping me on the line with temporary conditional love and wild sex that all gives me hope, I have always been above that but here I am. I feel like the root cause of my wife’s problems are solvable in time, but the step kids I dont know if I can do that any longer. It's just a tornado and theres been no growth. Thanks to those who read this much, I know it was chaotic.

2023.06.09 21:38 Dads-girl1234 Cleaning our community

Cleaning up the community is more than just a chore or a duty. It is a way of showing respect and care for the people and the environment around us. It can also improve our health, safety, and quality of life. Cleaning up the community can involve picking up litter, recycling waste, planting trees, painting walls, or organizing events. These activities can make our community more beautiful, vibrant, and welcoming. They can also reduce pollution, conserve resources, and protect wildlife. For example, according to a report by Keep America Beautiful, litter cleanup can save up to $11.5 billion per year in costs related to property value, tourism, crime prevention, and health care. Another example is Dow’s global clean-up program, which collected more than 1.2 million pounds of waste in 2020 and aims to increase its impact through education, collaboration, and recycling. Cleaning up the community can also help us to connect with our neighbors, learn new skills, and have fun. We can meet new friends, share ideas, and work together towards a common goal. Cleaning up the community can also boost our self-esteem, happiness, and sense of belonging. It can make us feel proud of ourselves and our community. Cleaning up the community is a rewarding and meaningful way of making a positive difference in the world.

2023.06.09 21:15 WagyuTheBull Zomedica Launches Revolutionary TRUVIEW(TM) Digital Microscope with Advanced Optics, Automated Slide Preparation, and Telepathology Services

ANN ARBOR, MI / ACCESSWIRE / June 9, 2023 / Zomedica Corp. (NYSE American:ZOM) ("Zomedica" or the "Company"), a leading innovator in veterinary medicine offering diagnostic and therapeutic products for companion animals, announced today the launch of the revolutionary TRUVIEWTM digital microscopy platform, featuring the proprietary TRUprepTM system that automatically prepares slides, along with LiquiViewTM liquid lens technology that provides best-in-class images.
Microscopic examination of blood and cytology fluids is the standard of care in the veterinary industry and is utilized by essentially every veterinary practice. The groundbreaking all-in-one TRUVIEW system combines LiquiView advanced optics, TRUprep automated slide preparation and tele-pathology with an easy-to-use interface to ensure consistent quality to boost veterinarian diagnostic confidence. The LiquiView advanced optics system will provide the highest quality slide images on the market, leading to better diagnostics for the pet.
Preparing cytology slides and making blood smear slides can be critically important to cellular investigation and diagnosis. However, the effectiveness and accuracy of that interpretation depend on the quality of the slide. The TRUVIEW microscope features the TRUprep automated slide preparation system, eliminating the need for manual slide preparation because all the traditional manual slide preparation steps, including smearing, drying, fixing, staining, washing and drying, are handled by the TRUprep system, assuring consistent high-quality slides, while saving 5-10 minutes of technician time for each slide to improve productivity and workflow.
TRUVIEW's digital imaging and telepathology component is an easy-to-use interface providing veterinarians with multiple diagnostic options, including reading the slide directly on the microscope, reviewing the slide digitally from a remote computer through the Company's myZomedica® web portal, or sending the image to a Zomedica pathologist for external review and consultation. This will result in boosting veterinarian confidence in providing a consistent, reliable diagnostic result.
"The innovation of the automated slide prep feature has been a critical need in the industry for years," stated Bill Campbell, VP of Imaging at Zomedica. "We have taken every step to make it easier than ever for clinics to have consistent slide quality, reduce human error and waste and deliver reliable results every time. By automating this critical step, the TRUVIEW microscope significantly improves the efficiency of veterinary practices, enabling veterinarians to save staff time and focus more on diagnosing their patients," continued Campbell.
"The development of the TRUVIEW microscope has been a project I have been following closely", said Dr. Matt Connolly of Connolly Animal Clinic. "Having a microscope that automatically smears and stains the slide produces very consistent quality, with the resulting image resolution better than manually prepared slides. With TRUVIEW in our lab we are more efficient, and it helps us provide the best medicine possible."
"The TRUVIEW microscope represents the latest innovative technology launched by Zomedica," said Larry Heaton, CEO of Zomedica. "By combining advanced optics with automated slide preparation, we are providing veterinary professionals with a powerful tool that enhances their diagnostic capabilities and streamlines their workflow.
"We're launching the TRUVIEW system at this weekend's PacVet conference and then offering it initially to practices participating in Zomedica's Customer Appreciation Program by utilizing our TRUFORMA® diagnostic platform. The microscope will be placed in practices with no upfront capital required through a monthly subscription service in addition to fees for slide interpretations that will produce high margin revenue for the Company. As we build inventory, we'll widen the launch as essentially all veterinary practices could benefit in several ways from adoption of the TRUVIEW system as they will receive quality images, professional interpretation and positive impacts on both workflow and cash flow", concluded Heaton.
Zomedica acquired the assets of Revo Squared in July of 2022 and has been actively working to enhance their product line and prepare for the launch of the TRUVIEW platform. TRUVIEW products are manufactured by Zomedica at its Global Manufacturing & Distribution Center in Roswell, GA.

2023.06.09 20:49 Astaroth639 Looking for advice <3 (Follow Up)

Hi, I wrote here few days ago my first post in this group (https://www.reddit.com/ChineseMedicine/comments/142prjz/looking_for_advice_after_western_medicine_failed/ ) and I really don ´t wanna spam but I got some update about my situation - results from what my TCM practitioner told me were my issues and plan of fixing it.
Again, my full list of symptoms is:
  1. Low energy
  2. Cold feet at all weather (according to Western medicine I have anemia)
  3. Lower back pain
  4. Varicocele and its pain after exercising or masturbation
  5. Erectile dysfunction and Low libido
  6. Dry eyes
  7. Dry skin / dry face / dry nose
  8. Taking too long to eat a meal (-60 min) - only applied to solid meals, soups I eat in a normal speed
  9. Little white spots on my nails

And the verdict of my TCM practitioner after telling her all my symptoms in detail and after she examined my tongue and pulse:
  1. Qi energy deficiency, deficiency of Spleen (Pi) and deficiency of "plux Fei" - my question to you - what is that plux Fei, please?
  2. There is a "SHI/RE" - Damp-heat with Qi energy stagnation and blockade of blood (Xue) in my pelvis
  3. Deficiency of blood (Xue)
  4. Implied deficiency of Yang of kidney (Shen)

She proceeds to say,
"In the 1.step, we focus on cleansing the "Damp-heat" and by moving the stagnating energy and blood blockage in the pelvis area, that is the root cause of erection and varicocele issue."
"2. step: consequently, once it is cleansed, we supply the body what it needs, I would focus on adding energy and blood, what will positively affect tiredness and your overall constitution, what should improve is: tiredness, dry eyes, feeling of cold and digestion"
"The main tool in both steps are herbs. In the pelvis area there may be a share of supressed emotions - if it shows this way, we can add acupuncture."
Then she says I can choose from dry herbs or a pre-made concoction made from those herbs and that both has pros and cons - dry herbs take longer to prepare but that they are 20% stronger (that´s how I understand what she wrote at least) and concoction is ready to drink but is weaker because those who make it only infuse it once whereas with dry herbs I am advised to infuse them twice. Pricewise they are the same.
In the end of her report she says
"Overall I expect treatment time of 2 months depending on your condition. The first improvement should take place around 3 weeks time of when started taking the herbs."
I found this page and investigated the conclusions she came to and regarding the Damp-heat she claims I have, I am confused as here: (https://www.meandqi.com/tcm-education-centepatterns/damp-heat#diagnosis) according to the symptoms mentioned, I only have Swollen neck glands and Feeling of heaviness and when compared to this (https://www.meandqi.com/tcm-education-centepatterns/damp-cold#diagnosis) - Damp-cold I feel as if I have more symptoms of this one. Also overall I feel cold not heat. Sun is what makes me feel best last years. I fear the herb mixture aimed to fight the Heat-cold would exacerbate my cold feeling symptoms. But I have no idea really.
Also during the examination she said there was definitely Yang deficiency but now in her report I don´t see it - and according to my symptoms I do have that, too.

My appeal to you, those that are experienced I would be very grateful to you if you found the time to tell me your ideas on:
  1. Whether the symptoms match the diagnosis
  2. What is your opinion on the Damp-heat vs Damp-cold comparison?
  3. What about the Yang replenishing she didn´t mention in her report?
  4. What about the difference between dry herbs and premade concoction? Which one shall I opt for?
  5. What is that "plux Fei" shre wrote, please? (couldn´t find the meaning)
  6. What do you think about the two steps she suggests for me - first cleaning the pelvis then adding the Qi and blood?
  7. Do you think acupuncture is a good idea alongisde taking the herbs? Or shall I first wait and see (as my TCM practitioner suggests) if the pelvis problems are partially caused by suppressed emotions? (I want to speed up the process as much as possible and would like to do acupuncture for my erection/lower back pain/varicocele)

Anything else you are willing to share with me regarding this, I will be happy. I know it is hard and challenging for you to diagnose anything as you didn´t see me personally or my tongue or felt my pulse.
It is not that I don´t trust my TCM practitioner, but I have no experience at all and it is my first time talking to a TCM practitioner and if I have the option to ask for opinions of you people, I will be glad to get some. I am a bit paranoid she would give me the wrong herbs or make a mistake and prolonging the treatment time - paranoia in place since the Western medicine actually aggravated my health condition - I had to 2 surgeries so far and both caused me daily pain (1. surgery was laser refractory eye surgery 6 years ago where they damaged by corneal nerves resulting in me having symptoms of dry eye, 2. surgery was microchirurgical varicocele treatment which failed and my problem reoccured and started hurting frequently - never had any pain before the surgery for 5 years since I developed varicocele). Overall I made some terrible decisions when younger and ruined my health and for the last 3 years spent too much time, money and energy trying to fix this by the Western health system resulting in just worsening my situation. Frustrating. Started learning Qigong yesterday from online lessons.

Sorry for the long post.
And bless everyone who finds time to read it & help me out by their wisdom.
