I’ve got a question I’d love us to discuss here.
My wife and I want/plan to move to a much better school district in the next few years. Our son is 2.5.
I can’t reason through the best timeframe for this. My thought is I’d like to do it ASAP so he’s in preschool-high school with the same kids, but my wife is fine waiting a few years and doing it during his early elementary years. Personally, I switched schools a few times as a kid and found that it wasn’t great in retrospect.
I don’t know if there’s really a scientific answer to this, but I’d love to hear any anecdotes or opinions on timing.

I (M30) work at the airport assisting anyone who needs wheelchairs or assistance by pushing or walking them where ever they need to go. It’s not the best paying job but tips are included sometimes and I enjoy elderly people and helping whoever I can as I’m also a HHA. It’s just a side gig I do.
A lot of young people work there as well ( some older people my age and way older also but not as many), high school kids and young adults aging anywhere from 16 and up. Id consider anyone 23 and under to fall into that young adult category maybe.
So we had a flight get in a little late, around 10 pm maybe, and by this time I was already tired and having not the best day. Management has a high turnover rate as they’ll hire literally anyone. They’ll talk to you however they want but most of us just ignore that to get through our day. So maybe about 6 of us were on the jet bridge waiting with wheel chairs ready to take whoever needed it to where they had to go. Everyone on the jet bridge has to be in their late teens to early 20s except me. I do look younger than I am as I always get mistaken for someone aged 25. I have no issues with people younger than me, I was once young like that as well. Even though they weren’t taking their job seriously by joking around loudly, moving about the jet bridge getting in deplaning passengers ways etc, I ignored it because my job is not to micromanage. I stood there silently waiting for a passenger.
A younger guy, I won’t speculate his exact age but you can tell from the way he partook in the antics that he wasn’t as mature, walks next to me trying to squeeze in between me to who knows where as the only place to go past me was the door leading to outside and we don’t go out there. A walker was next to me as well so he tried to squeeze past me and the walker. He starts tapping my elbow and I look at him with a straight face. I don’t like being touched from trauma I have as a child. I no longer lash out about it like I did when I was younger as I’ve learned to deal with it with time, but I was obviously annoyed. He then says “ watch out real quick “. So I plant my feet even harder and don’t move. He walks towards the plane for whatever reason and then walks back and says “ I was just trying to get past bro “. I then say “ that’s fine. It’s excuse me, and don’t touch me “. He than walks back to his wheel chair silently and the others look at me in disbelief like, did he just say that? What’s his problem? I then get a passenger who sits down and I leave with them.
I’ll admit I don’t really feel like an AH and no one said I was, but part of me knows I could have just moved away but I’m pretty big on manners. Excuse me, please, thank you, you’re welcome. It’s just how I was raised.
Could I have just moved to avoid any type of issue? AITAH for not moving when someone was clearly trying to get past me?

How did this all happen? Is this still the current case?

Ltd is a company under Yongbao Group Co.Look at Yandai Wang’s bio and it says: Mr. Yandai Wang has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Company and Executive Chairman of the Board since May 2020. Mr. Wang has served as Chief Executive Officer of SOS since November 2018 and executive chairman of Yongbao Group since April 2015.

So… yes I am still a little confused here. **TL;DR: When XRF changed to SOS back in July 2020, they also announced a pretty elaborate relocation plan with Qingdao West Coast New District. So far, we haven’t really heard any follow-ups on this. But, on March 26, the launching ceremony of the Yongbao Fusion Life Medicine Industrial Park project was held in the West Coast New District finally happened. I still have some confusion related to Yongbao Group / Yongbao Two / SOS and Yandai Wang, but given all the clues I think we can agree at a minimum SOS is involved SOMEhow. really feeling conflicted on this, needing answers … I left secondary school 3 years ago (2020), and I was pretty aware 95% of everyone was situational/acquaintances more than real friends. I honestly expected I’ll meet my match/own people when I left secondary school. I thought I’d conveniently forget each and everyone of their faces. Which I did. However I never managed to make new friends, I was engulfed in the self hate and social anxiety hole. Not so conveniently everyone moved on and made new friends almost 80% of everyone don’t talk to people they were so close with. Most of them live within a 2 miles radius of me, and I had a few awkward bump ins with them, and they give me a quick stare and simply keep walking. It doesn’t deeply affect me but it hurts me I wasn’t able to make new friends and now I’m all isolated.

I have 2 very handsome healthy and intelligent boys, one of which is now graduated from christian high-school, is a trombonist, has a beautiful high-school sweetheart, 4.0 avg, is only 20 about to buy his 1st car....80's corvette, is a proper son that has been taught and raised to be factual and intellectual with incredible abstract though and much much more blessings from God Almighty.....this is just my 1st born. So, in other words, I am allowed to procreate, and I would have been allowed to procreate in NSDAP Germany where eugenics ruled Supreme....just like my mother and father and grandmother and grandfather. I have a lifelong mental health condition and have been through years of medication, therapy, suicide attempts and all that horrible.
I have gone from being full time in a psych ward for 2 years and not finishing high school to being a successful university STEM student with aims of emigrating to study Masters and I am getting married in the next two weeks.
I still suffer with my mental illness but now I am much more stable and can say I may be ill sometimes but I love my life and I am happy. I don't want to die. I don't want my mental illness to take more time from me.
I've recently had people leave my life and on reflection I realised I felt relief - because I found these people so emotionally draining.
One of them has the same disorder as I but untreated and she had a lot of problem behaviours that could intimidate others. I often felt like a babysitter. I could never talk about my emotions either because then she would do something to herself and yet it was OK for her to sit there and ruin my mood over and over again with dark, not funny "jokes", talking about really upsetting stuff with no warning.
Another was so hyper sensitive that she was exhausting.
And then the other day, the mother of my friend invited me and my Fiance out for dinner to celebrate our upcoming wedding and my birthday. After a major breakdown since January (I am only being discharged this week from crisis mental health care) I really needed to just have a nice time. His mum is a nice lady but she constantly, over the years in literally every conversation she has brought up something awful and traumatic.
At this dinner in the first 30 minutes alone she had already;
Told me about her dead partner from over 15 years ago who committed suicide by hanging (which I attempted recently)
Told me about miscarriages from 20+ years ago
Said about her violent ex partner beating her.
Made everyone at the table very uncomfortable
Honestly as well with how unwell I have been I havent been able to enjoy food but this meal I actually was looking forward to - she totally put me off.
It's not that I don't care about people, I want to be there for my friends. But I don't want my life to revolve under such awful things, I don't want to finally have a chance to have fun with friends and be constantly talking about such upsetting stuff. I'm trying to move on from the past but I keep being close to people who seem to want to bury themselves in it and serious mental illness/negativity. I even told her I wanted, needed positive people and conversation before all that started.
I didnt really react but I don't know how to handle this. How do you spot people who are emotionally draining like this before you get too close to them?
I will have to see my friends mum again and I'm worried she may do this at a wedding event of ours. How can I stop her without being horrible?
The last time I want to hear this awful stuff is on my wedding day.

Backstory my mom has 3 kids... Me(24F), Brother (26M), Sister(20)
I don't want to have a relationship with my mom because I feel like she's a very toxic person who can't admit her wrongdoings. We grew up poor (My FORCE) on my mother's side. I and my brother share the same Father and my Sister has her own. I remember as far back as when I was 5. My mother has literally never had a job to support us the only job I remember her having is when I was 6 and she worked at Hardee's. My father told me that she graduated high school valedictorian and she was very smart she just didn't want anything for herself.
She can't even tell you the last time she even purchased us a bar of soap. She would always depend on my father's side for things such as Christmas, Food, and basic living needs. The money she did come in contact with she would always speed on weed, and sleeping pills. She would go buy food and sneak and eat it knowing we haven't eaten all day.
She would verbally abuse us. Send us to school with our hair half done and torn-up clothes. She would make my younger sister and me call our dads for money saying it's more "food" when in actual reality she wanted to smoke.
I taught my little sister EVERYTHING!!! My sister father's side was never in her life so my sister clinged to my mother even after doing her wrong constantly she always saw the good in her when it was no good at all. I've always hated that but I couldn't blame my sister in her eyes our mother was the only thing she had and my sisters heart is so pure I couldnt dare to break it.
I've always been the strong one, I could care less if I never seen this lady again my siblings on the other hand always forgive her and go back and get done wrong again. I left the day I turned 18 and didn't dare to speak to her again. I let so much past trauma build up inside me to the point where I pushed everyone away until I saught out threapy.
My mother would take like 20 pills at once and forget who she is and forget who her children are. We has the option of living with our dad but my dad at a tiny apartment and it was liviable with 2 kids he did evenutally end up getting a house but I couldnt leave my little sister. I became a mom at 6 to my older brother and little sister sad to say but I did.
I pushed myself harder then ever in school to make something of myself and I graduated with the 3rd highest gpa in my graduating class. My mother didnt even show to my graduation but demamded by money I got from other family members when I got home. I would work a fast food job after school and my sister would walk there in the middle of my shift hungry and tired so I had to feed her.
The day I left, I got approved for a little small 1 bedroom apartment. I tried to get my sister and brother to come with me but my mother is so much of everything to them they didnt want to leave her so I was like fine. I stopped talking to my siblings for about 6 months until my sister reached out to me about my mom not helping her with her graduation. So I put my big girl panties on and became a mother AGAIN from head to toe I paid for!! My mother didn't even show up to my sister graduation which led me and my sister to get into a really really bad argument because I was like "this is the person you love to defend and stay with she couldn't even bother to show up for do anything for you" she got mad and basically started defending our mother and demishing me so I dropped her off and blocked her number because she really hurt my feelings that day. I gave up my childhood for them.
Fastforward now 6 years later my sister reached out to my best friend apparently our mother is "sick" and no ones a match to give her a bone marrow transplant and they want me to get tested but I refuse! I'm fine with her not being here anymore. She gets my sister's phone basically saying " I'm holding grudges and I never had a bad life"."I need to get over it and come help her"."If I don't help her I'm going to hell". Like girl, you need my help and you still talking crap so I hung up the phone.
Since then I've been recieving so many hateful text and facebook messages from my mothers side of the family. The only person who is on my side is my Mother's Mom.

I just found my journal from the 7-day silent sesshin at the end of my 4 months living with Zen monks. Here it is...
I’m about to sit in silence for 7 days.
As I come to the end of the two month practice period, the final “stretch” is sesshin. This is a seven day silent retreat of, basically, 4:45am to 9:15pm meditation. Even our meals are eaten in a sort of ritual format while on our cushions in the meditation hall.
I’ll treat this as an experiment with a status report of my inner conditions before and after sesshin.
Before…
Outside the meditation hall, I could do a little better with intention. This means remembering that there is no distinction between “meditation” and life. It’s all meditation; life itself is the meditation.
That said I can feel my awareness is heightened. I am better at catching myself when I first wake up and enjoying actually waking up (a daily miracle). I watch myself while I shower and get ready. And I taste every bite at meals.
The one thing I’m concerned about is what I read in Richie Davidson’s paper on the plasticity of wellbeing. He explained that open awareness style meditation (e.g. just sitting as opposed to focusing on your breathing) sometimes does not lead to as much change in the default mode network (DMN is the brain’s standard operating system). Basically, it can lead to more awareness of your mind wandering – more awareness of your own lack of focus, without actually improving your focus. It seems that’s where I’m at now. I’m aware of my mind as it constantly wanders. So I may go with more of a breath-focused practice over the next week.
Otherwise I am in good spirits. It’s been a kind of mellow-upbeat vibe. And considering the lack of joy-inducing stimulation such as friends, fun, and achievement, I’d say that’s pretty good. I’m also feeling a deep sense of nature-mysticism like that of Thoreau or Whitman. I have almost zero negative emotions aside from occasional tiredness or anxious desires to write or accomplish to dos. I’d say I’m hanging out around a 8 / 10 happiness – a little above baseline and rarely dipping below.

All of this is beyond words. Language can’t grasp the experience of reality. It’s like trying to write about the Sun. What do I say? It’s warm, it’s bright, it’s a round ish? Words can’t touch the essence. The Zen way is direct pointing. It is to experience the experience. And that must be experienced.
So I’ll do the best I can here as an “experimenter”. Please note this experiment is horribly unscientific.

It’s hard to note exactly how my mind was during sesshin. But a couple of things stand out.
First as I transition out of retreat, want to keep my phone off or on text/call only. It seems the moment I touch my phone I lose all momentum and intuitiveness around what to do. It seems to scramble my brain.
Second, emotions rise more readily and intensely from a still mind. It’s like a throwing a pebble into still water – still water receives the full impression of the pebble. I remember how during the last night, the Abbess told the story of Suzuki Roshi’s death (the teacher who founded the temple). The tears poured out of me like an endless spring. As we ended the silence and got to join in conversation again, joy and love shot through me like a bolt of lightning.
So the main thing is letting the water of the mind settle into stillness. And from here every experience of life is more vivid – just like the still water receives the full impression of the pebble. A still mind receives the fullest experience of your life.
Sesshin also destroys the notions of time and self. Yes, time and self are just notions. They are concepts about reality, not reality. Now maybe “destroys” is too strong a word. Maybe “effs with” or “loosens” is better.
Every day is broken into intervals of 20 to 60 minutes. But within each interval we are sitting doing nothing except paying attention. So it’s almost like being back in high school but if all classes were just sitting and staring at a wall for 40 minutes. There was nothing going on to differentiate one interval from another or one day from another. There’s nothing to mark the passage of type.
It’s like spending the week on the open ocean. How far did you go? Was it a long or short trip? Where are you? I don’t know. The week of sesshin felt like it lasted somewhere between a 4 weeks and a weekend. The whole processing of time is something that is constructed. And without any temporal landmarks to orient yourself to, it goes out the window. Time is something the mind constructs based on events and movement (eg rotation on axis). It is a concept.
Same goes for the sense of self. This is also a constructed notion. It is through patterns of action and communicating with others that we form our self-concept. Based on how I relate to and compare to another I think “I am this person who is a certain way”. Once those interactions and dynamics are stripped away there are (again like the open ocean analogy) few social landmarks to orient one’s sense of self to. I’m not so sure “who I am” in the personality sense. Who I am is a lot more this observer in here who hears, sees, and experiences thoughts. The personality self is a concept.
I had glimpses of time and self deteriorating. Or as I so eloquently write, “they got effed with”. Aside from that I’m not sure what more to say about it. It was probably more boring and tedious than it was mystical (that’s the reality of intense contemplative practice at least at the early stages). But this work is not totally aimless.
It has made my mind more like a still pond – ready to receive the full experience of life. It’s allowed me to touch reality more intimately. It’s helped me experience life in what I might call “higher definition”.

Hey, I'm building my first PC myself. I understand a decent amount about PC's although definitely could learn some more. My budget absolute max is 700 usd although If I could save and still hit my targets that would be awesome. The uses for this pc would be mainly School and gaming with some light streaming. On occasion I would like to get involved with some blender modeling and video / photo editing.
My main game titles are Call of duty MWII, Assetto corsa (with mods), Live for speed, GTA V (with mods), (Beam.NG would be a game I would like to play as well) All im looking for is high FPS at 1080P High settings
Any help with making sure I would be covered with all of my boxes check would be amazing!
Side note: Also if anyone could help me understand what ram timing means (in my ram selection in the post its 18-22-22-42 ) and how it effects my PC would be great I've tried to research it myself although I just keep getting more confused.

Here is a Meta CYOA that uses OTHER CYOAs. First you select a sided dice (d4,d6,d8,etc…), then choose a medium type (Anime, Manga, Movies, Books, etc…), then lastly a Meta type (CYOA, Supplement, etc...). But all of these HAVE to be Official ones only. (Means has to have been published/posted in someway... Yes Fanfics would count along as it's been posted.)
Next pick a number of Worlds/Settings equal to your chosen Dice minus one.
Afterwards select a number of Extras/Cheats/CYOAs equal to your Dice again ln minus one, BUT these cannot be any that allow you to select a World, are specific to one World, OR Jump-chain Docs. (Those like the Magic Multiverse Mayhem CYOA is not allowed as it has a World Selection option, or those like DanMachi CYOA as it is for a single World.) And ignore whatever amount/etc instead roll a dice and that is the number of things you get from that choice. (Ex Meta Essence CYOA you roll a Dice (D6) and that is the amount of Essences you get.)
Next whatever World/Setting you get you will arrive somewhere semi-safe within the City/Town/Etc that is first shown/described at the beginning of that Story's Canon, as a Drop-In equivalent and in the Canon Timeline, unless your Extra/Cheat/CYOA states otherwise.
Now let’s talk about the extra number on your Dice for Worlds if that number is rolled then it Now becomes a Cross-Over, roll twice (reroll if extra number is rolled again: Ex if 6 is rolled again ignore it and roll again) the first number World is the Main World with the second being the added Elements.
Hopefully you’ll survive. (Ex: Roll Cross-Over with Main World as Naruto and 2nd as High School of the Congrats at some point Zombies will be a thing [probably a failed Orochi experiment gone wrong or something] good luck surviving Zombie Naruto Ninjas, and they most likely won’t or can’t use Jutsu but they WILL be fast and strong so… But hey at least they won’t be Resident Evil type Zombies unless you chose that as an option… Shudders)
For Extra/Cheat/CYOA the extra Dice number will be Upgrade/Combo, when rolled you MUST choose which one you will take either Upgrade or Combo, then reroll again ignoring the extra number to roll again. For Upgrade means all DLCs are also allowed and fill out the CYOA as normally with an extra Dice number of free selections or if no DLC exist then add an extra Dice roll to you selected amount (for a total of two Dice Number of free selections). For Combo roll twice and gain both rolls (reroll extra) with both count as if one Extra. (Ex anything Combo with Meta Essence makes those also count as Essence.)
