Sam's Club is worth it for 2 people.

2023.06.10 18:47 faceboobs701 Sam's Club is worth it for 2 people.

I've debated posting this as I know it' may get pushback. This pushback is the same reason that I hesitated on getting a membership until they had their annual promotion of $10 for 1 year of membership.
Holy hell, guys. If you buy nothing else, the gas alone is worth it. It's an average .10ç cheaper than any other gas station. The groceries are my favorite part. Yeah, they're bulk items however between my husband and I, the food lasts and doesn't expire before we can eat it. The produce is great, but my absolute favorite are the rotisserie chickens. I buy one each week, and they feed us for roughly 8 meals. The chickens are $5.
The cat litter is the cheapest I've found, too. Tidy Cats went from $17 to $20 the past few months and is almost never on sale, but that's fine because Sam's Club brand litter is $12 for the same size and for the price, the quality is great. Same with dog food. $40 for twice the food and my dog loves it.
Seriously. Don't let being a single or two person household discourage you. It's absolutely worth it to sign up if you can afford to. They have a recurring deal on GroupOn for Sam's Club membership for $25.
Just in case anyone was on the fence, I wanted to share my experience. 100% worth it.

2023.06.10 18:10 CrazySwordfish0 6 months TRT before and after pics

6 months TRT before and after pics
6 montbs TRT Before and after pics
I did around 100-150mg of test a week. Had a flawless diet of only chicken, broccoli, and rice type stuff. Never ate sugar, sauce or processed foods. Worked out lightly few times a week, but nothing crazy
For first 3 months Total t was 1500, free t was 35. I started getting bad chest pains though so lowered dose to total of 1000 and free of 20 My estrogen is around 60, not sure if this is too high, sometimes I am a bit moody
Can’t tell how much of this body was changing my diet or the TRT, but every month that went by was noticeable changes.
As for confidence and focus I think TRT is overrated unless you are low levels, I didn’t notice a mood improvement

2023.06.10 17:58 queenofpossumsprings Advice with prescription cat food

I hope it’s okay for me to post this here, if not my apologies!
My cat, Phil, is about 3 years old, a neutered male, about 18lbs. He was adopted and I’m not sure what his story was before I got him. Anyway, so his vet has told me he has crystals in his urine and needs to be on prescription food probably for the rest of his life.
To be clear - I am in no means questioning my vet’s treatment, I’m simply questioning the ingredients of the prescription food!
The dry food’s main ingredients are Ocean Fish, Cracked Pearled Barley, Whole Grain Oats, Brewers Rice, Corn Gluten Meal, and Wheat Gluten. For the wet version of the same food it’s Pork By-Products, Water, Pork Liver, Chicken, Brewers Rice, Corn Starch, Soybean Meal. As far as I know these ingredients aren’t the best for cats and it has me a little concerned about other potential health issues down the line. I would like a little better understanding of these ingredients and if they are truly awful for my cat to eat. I plan to talk more to my vet but he is out for a week so I would just like input in the mean time. Again, if this is not the right sub for this my apologies!

2023.06.10 17:54 Whooterzoot I met someone really cool at the World Premiere of A Transparent Musical here in LA

I met someone really cool at the World Premiere of A Transparent Musical here in LA
For context, I am not in the cast, I just work for the theatre company who put on the show. Got opening nights tickets but was not prepared for how star studded the evening would be!
I saw Dylan walking around before the show started and texted my mom about seeing her and a few other celebrities. Mom, a huge fan of hers, immediately asks for me to take a pic with her, and I refuse. I don't want to bother anyone and I've always felt tacky/awkward whenever someone I know tries that kind of thing with me around. But she asks again, very sweetly, "for momma, just ask her, one trans beauty to another," so I make up my mind to go for it.
I chicken out, of course, and as the show ends and the audience files out, I see her on the far side of the plaza, my chance seemingly forever lost.
I was heading back to my car when a coworker asks if I'm going to be at the after party. I had to be up at 4am the next morning, but it doesn't take a lot of peer pressure to get me to forget about that for free wine lol
And by pure luck, she was there, too.
She was walking through the after party and I nervously tapped her shoulder from behind. She turned around, saw me, big smile formed on her face. "Hi!" she said, "my name's Dylan." As if I didn't know lol I was like, "hi, I'm Natalie, I'm a big fan of yours, my mom is a big fan of yours,"
She goes, "oh my God, thank you!" while she brings me in for a hug. And I, holding up my phone, say, "yeah, I'm so sorry to bother you, but could I ask you for a picture?"
She responds, "oh, for your mom we gotta do a video, too" which just left me FLOORED. She even asked for her name to give her a personalized shout out.
So we film the video ("Day 402 of girlhood!" Dylan says). Take the picture (above). She's gracious about the entire thing.
After, she thanks me again for being a supportive fan, is clearly trying to leave (understandably, it's probably a busy night for her) but I'm able to stammer out "Uh-umm," and she stops. She makes eye contact with me. I tell her, "you said just now that it was day 402 of being a girl... I just hit a year here at the mid-end of May."
She says, "oh my gosh, so that means we're like this?" as she crosses her fingers. "We're like twins?" How dare she be so sweet and kind to a total stranger? The bubbly sweetness radiates off of her like a holy glow.
I'm slightly back to myself by now, so I joke, "Dylan, I wasn't gonna say it, but... kinda haha" and she laughs and congratulates me, still politely eager to finish this interaction. I'm embarrassed for holding her up at this point, and reciprocate her wish for me to have a good evening. I'm beaming as I float back to the tables my coworker friends are at.
It was a really good night. I'm not on tiktok or any other social media, really, and truth be told, I would have told you I wasn't really a fan of hers if you had asked me a few months ago. But how can I not love her after all that? She's a year or so younger than I am and she's everything I wanted to be before health complications forced me to drop out of school. It's cathartic to see someone like you doing what you wish you could, but can't. Seeing her warmth and authenticity in person was incredible. I've gone from apathetic to fan girl overnight lol the power of live theatre, ya know?
Definitely go see A Transparent Musical at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles if you get a chance! I didn't mention it a lot in this post, but it is an amazing show. 💜💜💜

2023.06.10 17:52 misskristine94 The diary: my first 24 hours on Ozempic

So! It’s happened, my first 24 hours on Ozempic are officially over. Before I started, I went through every single similar post online just so I know what to expect, so I really hope it’ll help someone!
My stats:
Female 28yo
Now, please don’t judge me for my stats. I know my BMI is in the healthy range, but I don’t feel in the healthy range. I’ve always been around 20 and in the last 12 months I’ve had a lot going on and sadly returned to my binging habits from teen years. Why am I taking ozempic? Because I want to lose 2 stone, I simply don’t enjoy exercise, I have a busy job and I also create content in free time - and end up spending 12 hours a day in front of a screen. My problem isn’t just weight - it’s also overeating (therapy didn’t work, before you ask).
So, yesterday I gave myself my first injection, and here is a little diary:
2pm Ozempic arrived in the post. I cannot tell you how how excited but nervous I got. It gave me such an adrenaline boost.
4pm I finished work, and decided to do it. I watched a couple of tutorials. I hadn’t eaten for a couple of hours apart from a protein shake. I also took one tablet of Cetrizine (anti allergy tablet). In the past, this always helped me with nausea so I thought I’d counteract any potential nausea from Ozempic.
4.15 Shot done, it’s in my body. Wow, I’m so nervous. What if I get a heart attack? What if it’ll kill me? What if I’ll vomit like crazy? I had so many thoughts go through my mind, I couldn’t explain it.
5.15pm I’ve talked myself into having side effects. I was chilling on the sofa and kept telling myself I’m nauseous (I wasn’t) and the anxiety made me nauseous.
7.15pm nothing has changed. I have an ice cream.
9pm Still not much apart from little nausea which would probably be caused by not eating food (I was too scared I’d end up vomiting). I have a sweet chilli chicken ready meal.
11pm A little bit of nausea but quickly evaporates as soon as I have Diet Coke. I fall asleep as usual.
8am Wake up in the morning feeling fresh as a daisy. I slept all through the night. Nothing happened. Miracle!
10am I get some nausea. Again, it’s likely the lack of food this morning as I didn’t really feel hungry + low blood sugar. I have an ice cream and nausea goes away.
11am I don’t feel hungry. Normally by now I’d have had so much food at my desk.
1pm Some more nausea, a little bit more intense but nothing that would make me sick. I have a slice of cheese and Diet Coke and it goes away.
3pm I still feel full. I have a lollipop just to keep potential nausea away.
4pm I feel absolutely fine. Currently sat in the garden typing this and drinking Diet Coke. I’m working away on my ipad and I feel great. I still feel full, I don’t know if it’s ozempic kicking in, or if I’m just talking myself into not being hungry. Either way, I’m not craving anything. It’s only been 24 hours and I already don’t think about food. Having suffered from severe eating disorder in the past (anorexia + binge eating), this is probably the best thing that’s happened to me. I feel free. It’s only been 24 hours, I don’t think about food, I don’t think what to eat next, how many calories I’m going to eat, how many I’ve consumed, if I’m fat, if I’ve eaten too much. NOTHING. My brain is clear. I’m sitting here smiling like crazy, because something I’ve done since I was 14 is no longer there. No brain fog, no anxiety. Is this what normal people feel? Is it normal to not think about food constantly? Wow, it’s been life changing. Can I stay like this forever?
TL;DR 24 hours on Ozempic, no major side effects apart from a little nausea that was easily cured with a slice of cheese and Diet Coke. I no longer think about food constantly, and my brain is so clear.
Let me know if you’d like me to do a one week summary next Friday!

2023.06.10 16:47 beaubeaucat Recipe for Old Fashioned Cornbread

I'm gluten-free, but my father is not. I've moved in to take care of him since my mom passed away a couple of months ago. I'm planning to make some vegetable soup, and I want cornbread to go with it. My mom's recipe contained flour. I really don't want to make 2 different batches of it, and he's complained in the past about how sweet pre-packaged gf recipes are. Anyone have any suggestions fir a recipe for gf old fashioned cornbread?

2023.06.10 16:08 vampireinamirrormaze What's free?

So I've had a rough last year financially and am effectively starting from square one. I got a decent job (with benefits!) which is definitely the biggest factor in recovering, but I'm trying real hard to avoid any lifestyle creep. The tricky annoying part is I still *want* to do hobbies and eat good food and not live a minimalistic life because it drives me crazy otherwise. So I've been thinking about the alternatives to regular things in daily life.
For example:
Instead of Microsoft Office, I use LibreOffice, the open source variant that's effectively just as functional.
I got put on to Libby, the free version of Audible that only requires a library card (which also just... everything about the public library is free. I feel like I'm still not totally aware of everything I can do there).
I like editing videos and DaVinci Resolve is just better than Premier or Final Cut, even if it wasn't free.
I've definitely steered towards being a vegetarian entirely because veggies are cheaper than most meats. If chicken legs ever succumb to inflation, I probably go vegan at that point lol.
But that's all solo stuff. I want to get out of the house and that's been the biggest hurdle: Everywhere that I could go and meet people requires some kind of entry fee or literally just a marketplace (like farmer's markets). I do hiking but again, that's mostly a solo activity.
Y'all do any group activities or things to meet people that don't require a wallet? Or honestly just any free alternatives to regular products and services too like those examples I gave, I like learning lol

  • How to steamroll the first 6 common objections you may receive at the beginning of a first appointment.
  • How to create authority in the first 30 seconds of a first appointment, by doing the EXACT opposite of what your prospect expects…and what every other salesperson does.
  • The Credibility Transfer: How to use “borrowed credibility” to get your prospects to trust you—even if they don’t know who you are.
  • The PLI “Power Switch” Principle that flips the power dynamic, so YOU are perceived to have the power (and not the prospect).
  • The One Eyed Man principle that STOPS the prospect from treating you like a salesperson.
  • RAPID SUCCESS IN JUST 20 MINUTES: Learn how to do a first appointment in just 20 minutes over the phone, no technology needed.
  • The Decision Matrix: This is the most critical part of the entire sale…and it’s made right here. (Most producers hit only 1 out of the 4 keys to the decision matrix and it costs them sales constantly.)
  • STOP THE HATERS: How to ensure competitors, incumbents, and other ‘characters’ don’t blow up your sales with bad advice to your clients. (PLEASE, if you do nothing else, learn this critical component to stop losing deals needlessly!)
  • The “golden thread of motivation”: This is the thread that holds the entire sale together. When a prospect forgets why they called, why they are meeting with you, or why they are buying, you will fail in closing the sale.
  • The “Fried Chicken Rule”that ensures your prospect is engaged and selling themselves, not tuning out.
  • How to set ROCK SOLID second appointments to ensure you never get a ‘no show’ on your next appointment.
  • The SOLUTION step: How to ensure you are sharing just enough to whet their appetite and create burning curiosity for the next appointment to get them coming back for more, (while being 100% compliant!)

2023.06.10 14:42 Its_eliza303 A detailed writeup of the first week of my bottom surgery experience with Dr. Dany Hanna.

I saw someone else do this a couple weeks ago and it really helped me know what to expect going into this, so I figured I'd pay it forward and do one as well! So here goes:
I was able to get a pretty quick surgery date. I did my consult in February. I had previously done a consultation at Crane center, but I really didn’t feel like they cared about me and they were hard to get a hold of. But Hanna Gender Center was the complete opposite. He took the time to listen to all my questions and answers versus he could, the patient care coordinators are amazing, and the staff at Carrolton regional has been great as well. I drove up to Dallas on Tuesday, May 30 and went to a nice dinner. Wednesday was Bowel prep day. It actually wasn’t too bad but it definitely drained all my energy. They have you mix an entire bottle of laxative into 64 ounces of Gatorade, and drink it all. Honestly, I think the worst part about the bowel prep experience was not being able to eat all day lol. DAY ONE (surgery day) I went to sleep and arrived at the hospital at 7:15 AM. I was taken to the prep room really quickly where they gave me wipes to wipe down my whole body for disinfectant reasons, I changed into my gown, and talked to all the nurses. at this point, I feel like I should mention that I’ve never had a surgery or anesthesia or anything before so I was a little bit nervous. Dr. Hanna came in and talked to me a bit about the procedure, answered any questions I had, and then he left. In about 15 minutes, the anesthesiologist came in and gave me a muscle relaxer through my IV which felt excellent. I started spacing out pretty quickly after that. They wheeled me to the OR, and I remember, transferring to the OR table and laughing, and making jokes with all the nurses, and then the anesthesiologist came in and gave me the rest of the anesthesia. I was out instantly, and it felt like I just blinked and was in the recovery room. It was hard to wrap my mind around. I was pretty disoriented when I got to the room, but after a few hours I started feeling better. I was able to order food, which was actually really good as soon as I got to the final room. I don’t think my pain has ever been above a five out of 10 which has been great. I took a little bit of Oxsee and some Tylenol but my plan is to take the pain meds as little as possible. I own a company, so I’m trying to be as clear headed as I can, so I can work remotely. As of right now, it’s 10:15 pm so about 12.5 hours after the surgery started. At this point my pain is about a three. I just feel this crazy pressure like I have to pee. Everything is still pretty numb down there though. DAY 2 I didn’t sleep very well because the nurses were coming in and out every hour or so last night to check my vitals, do bloodwork, etc. Dr. Hanna came in to talk to me around 7:30 am. Today was actually harder than yesterday. The anesthesia is worn off by now so things are a bit more painful but still mostly manageable. My pain has been steady around 3-5 on the pain scale today, but there was one point where my nerves were reconnecting, and it felt like I got tazed in my hoo-ha, 9 or 10 on the pain scale. Not fun. I can also feel my stomach and digestive system waking up which is a little uncomfortable. I still haven’t been allowed out of my bed and I can’t really move my legs, so I’m getting very restless. I’m hoping to be able to get up tomorrow, but it could be as late as Sunday. I think I will feel much better when I’m allowed to walk around. DAY 3 I needed some heavier pain pills to sleep last night, but I was able to get about 6 hours total. My biggest issues since yesterday evening has been gas buildup in my stomach. It’s been deeply uncomfortable and causes some nausea every once in a while. I can’t let it out because my body is numb from laying in the same spot since Thursday afternoon, so it’s just turning in my stomach. I really can’t stress enough how difficult it has been to not be able to move. It’s also been difficult for me to eat today, but I’ve been in less pain. Mostly just focused on my stomach issues. Dr. Hanna came in and said that he would come in first thing in the morning tomorrow and take my dressing off and I can walk after that. My lower half is still in what is essentially a body cast. The nurses here are wonderful. We’ve been trying to blend of different meds, and I was able to take a three hour nap today. It’s been really rough and hard to stay positive but I’m getting through it. My mom just left to get me a smoothie in case that would help. I am hoping I can find a good cocktail of drugs to where I can get better sleep tonight. Edit: the smoothie saved my life. I got a super food smoothie from smoothie king and it was the most satisfying thing I’ve had this whole stay. I’m pretty much feeling better tonight. Can’t remember my last pain med. I’m cozying up with a movie. I’m gonna try to get some good sleep, as tomorrow is a big day getting the dressing off and walking. DAY 4 I slept a lot better last night but the gas pain was still really really bad. I pretty much needed painkillers to sleep. Woke up this morning and still cannot stomach any food so I got more smoothie king and that helped a lot. Dr. Hanna came in at about 10:15 AM and took my dressing off. That sort of hurt but wasn’t a huge deal. I got to see my vagina for the first time and it looks incredible. My mom set up a mirror at the end of my bed, and I just sat there staring at it for almost an hour. I expected it to be really bruised and bloodied, but it was neither. It just looked really good. It was very emotional for me and it is taking a lot of brain power to process that this is actually mine. He wanted me to rest for a few more hours, and then get up at 2 and try to walk for the first time. I got some nausea and pain meds and passed out again. When I woke up, the nurse came in and helped me get up. This was by far the worst, most painful part of everything. My whole body was fatigued from laying in one spot, and it felt like every way I moved pulled on the surgical site. It took me about 10 minutes to get sat up on the side of the bed, and I had to sit for a little bit, because I got lightheaded. With the help of two people, I was able to eventually stand up and grab a hold of a walker. My mom said I went ghost white and I genuinely felt like I was gonna pass out. I slowly made way to the bathroom where I was finally able to take care of my stomach issues which felt a million times better. They switched out my sheets and I got back in bed and took a pain pill. After the pain from that experience subsided, it actually went down to about a 0 or 1 on the pain scale. Clearing my stomach made the biggest difference. I’m supposed to get up again this evening and I feel like I might be able to do that a bit easier. Tomorrow I’m discharged and go back to the hotel, so I really hope I’m ready to make that walk. Today was crazy but seeing it for the first time and seeing how good the results were made all of this worth it. I’m so incredibly happy. Day 4 edit: I was able to get up a second time and it was about 1000 times easier. I feel much more hopeful for tomorrow. DAY 5 Discharge day! I asked the nurses last night to bother me less so I could get a good night's sleep. Since my vitals have been stable the whole time, they obliged. I was able to sleep undisturbed from 11pm to 5am when they came in and drained my catheter. I went back to sleep till 7 at which point they all came in to wake me up for vitals, meds, drain check, and breakfast. I ate about half an omelette (first solid food I could really stomach in 2 days) and watched TV. I got up and went to the bathroom which was surprisingly easy. I also changed out of my gown and into an extra oversized t-shirt in anticipation of the ride home. I sat on my donut pillow in the hospital recliner for the first time which was surprisingly comfortable. They came in and said I was ready to leave, so I packed everything up and waited on them to come by with the wheelchair and discharge paperwork. Dr. Hanna was off today so he didn't personally discharge me, but I got a call from one of his staff and he emailed me all the info I need. They were originally not gonna send me with a walker but I told them there was no way in hell I could make it to my hotel room without one so eventually they sourced one that I could take home. They brought me down to the entrance in a wheelchair at which point I got into my moms car. I had the seat all the way back so I was sitting on my tailbone and not the surgical site. We drove about 10 mins back to the hotel which was fine, but i was sort of using my legs and arms to lift myself up when she went over bumps. Having the window down and getting fresh air was AMAZING. I was able to walk from the car to the hotel room, but that definitely drained my energy for the day. I laid in bed for awhile with some pillows under my knees, and ate some chicken tenders from cane's which went down well. I was feeling REALLY good most of the day. Sadly, after getting up from the hotel bed about an hour later, I was in excruciating pain. I think I was putting more pressure on the surgical site than I realized, because it felt just as bad as it did 2 days ago. I made it to the bathroom and cried, a lot. I got myself to the office chair and have been sitting on my donut for about 30-45 mins which has been more tolerable. I think it will take some work to figure out how to be in bed comfortably. I'm pretty wiped today, and I really look forward to getting these drains out because I think they are my main source of pain when moving. As far as the surgical site, I still have basically zero bruising, it hasn't swelled up much more than it was on day 3 when the packing came off, and it's only been bleeding a little bit which is a relief. That's about it for today, I'm gonna go try to rest and find a way to get comfortable and get a good night's sleep. Day 5 part 2 (night). Adding a second update for this day, because I had a significant breakthrough after posting the first part. I tried to rearrange my mountain of pillows and finally found an extremely comfortable position in bed. I had two pillows under my knees, and a weird slope of about 4 pillows behind my back, similar to the incline of the hospital bed. Once I was able to get into that spot, I started feeling amazing. My pain went down to a zero and for the first time, I felt happy and at peace. I played xbox and just enjoyed being comfortable and having all my comfort items around me (blankets, stuffed animals, music, games, etc). I got the best sleep I've had all week! I passed out around 10 and woke up about 4 am needing to use the bathroom. I was scared to get up, but it was pretty easy (comparatively). Made it to the bathroom, and ended up walking around the room for a good 20-30 minutes which is definitely more than I walked before. All with no pain! As for the surgical site, my swelling has honestly been about the same since the end of day 3 which is great. Still no bruising really. There is a bit of bleeding from the canal area (I got minimal depth so I have like a 2-3 inch canal) but that has slowed quite a lot. I got back into bed and achieved all of that with minimal pain. Definitely took that as an accomplishment! DAY 6 This morning was great. I feel like these updates will be just about the same until my next milestone in 2 days when I get my drains and catheter out. I woke up this morning and again had much more improvement in my movement, and also my mental clarity. I worked on my laptop at the hotel desk and took calls from 8:30 to 1:30 which was great. I needed to catch up on work badly. Around 1:30 though I felt drained and took a nap. My mom helped me wash my hair in the sink since I haven't showered in 6 days which felt AMAZING. I had my best friend come visit for awhile in the evening, sat on the couch for an hour or so (improvement there too), and now I'm getting ready for bed. I'm experiencing some increased swelling in the area above my vagina and it's currently my biggest source of pain but still very manageable. The swelling was putting tension on where the drains were taped down, so i re-taped the drains with more slack and that helped a bit. I sent an email to the clinic with a picture of the swelling just to be safe. I'm very excited for my post-op appointment because these drains and this catheter are driving me absolutely insane. Overall, today was much better and I feel much more myself. DAY 7 Today was about the same as yesterday but the big difference was that mentally I had much more energy. It was the first day I was able to work the whole day which was nice. I moved a lot less than I did yesterday because I felt like I overdid it and my swelling was bad. It’s been better today for sure. I’ll have much more to report tomorrow after my post op. I think I’ll do updates tomorrow and the day after to document my journey home, and that’ll be it for these updates. I may make another post with a list of things that made it easier for me in the hospital and during the first week of recovery. DAY 8 / 9 this is the last update that I’ll do on this post. I went to my postop appointment, which was my first time at Dr. Hanna‘s office. I got to meet all the other stuff that I have talked to on the phone for these past few months. Everyone was so sweet! I went into a room where he put my legs up in stirrups and talked to me about everything. This was a fun, lighthearted conversation. He pulled the drains out which I didn’t even feel, then pulled the catheter out which hurt but it was immediate relief when it was out. He handed me a mirror and pointed out different things to keep an eye on. It looks like I’m healing good so far! He also gave me some gel to apply daily to help with swelling. After that, I got dressed and went to the front where he took a Polaroid picture with me and gave me a copy. I got to choose a spot on the wall in his office for his copy. I had a pretty emotional moment where I hugged him and got to thank him for changing my life. It felt like an amazing way to finish out this first chapter of my recovery. I went back to the hotel and could not believe how much easier and less painful everything is with the drains out. Huge difference! I took it easy though, as I was pretty tired, and woke up the next morning to do my 3 1/2 hour drive home. The drive was OK, I sat on my donut pillow with the seat pretty reclined and I made it fine. Note that I was a passenger, I didn’t personally drive. We only had to stop once. I am now back home, and I feel thrilled to have made it through that week. That’s all for now, but feel free to comment on this at any time and ask me any questions I didn’t cover. ❤️

What You Get: MODULE 1: The Presuppositional Playbook Psychology The most fundamental difference in face to face, vs virtual selling is the absolute need to have the prospect be pushing for the sale. They must be the one driving for the solution. They have to want it more than you do. They have to be more engaged in the process than they are face to face. When you sell virtually the more you talk, the worse your close rates will be. When you are sitting with a prospect together, it’s easy to have the momentum of the meeting and the relationship you’ve developed together carry the sale to the finish line. This does not happen virtually. There is a distance, a void between you and the prospect that is easy for them to take your information and disappear, taking it to another advisor they know better. Presuppositional Selling does two important things. First, it structures the sales interaction in such a way that the prospect discovers intrisically the problems, pains, gains, and desire for a solution. One of the most powerful ways P2 selling works is helping the prospect see what they have not seen before. It changes context. It changes the frame. 2023.06.10 12:05 funkulturecop Getting signed without social media presence or minimal presence.

I was watching this panel discussion with some A&R recently
https://youtu.be/V2TTTiaznkc
Mark Knight starts out saying it's all about the music, don't follow trends and make tracks that are quality etc. But once the host starts asking questions, all the A&R guys agree social media presence plays a significant role; it is all about networking and that the artist's age also matters.
So I guess there's a slim chance in getting released if you're a late 30s and older producer who's simply interested in producing top quality product and not engaging with social media, networking via clubbing and DJing etc.
Which brings me to the chicken and egg question. Presumably, labels will not want to sign tracks that have been released on social media for free. Therefore, how do you build a social media presence without giving away your first 5-10 good quality productions for free?I guess the answers are edits, bootlegs, dj mixes, sample packs etc. But all of those things take time to create, which is difficult if you're producing as a sideline and have a busy family life and career.
Ultimately my question is, has anyone managed to get signed, by concentrating only on producing quality tracks ;no hours on tiktok, no instagram, no hanging out around dj booths on the blag etc? Getting signed on merit and the strength of the music?

2023.06.10 11:34 clyft Hashimotos and not GF?

Daughter has Celiac Disease so we are well versed on GF and have a GF home.
I (F40+) was recently dxed with Hashimotos. I am already on a high dose of levothyroxine prediagnosis. I was ready to be told I had to go gluten and dairy free but 2 endocrinologists told me I didn't.
Has anyone else been told this?

The Crucial 1st Appointment The first appointment in the leverage point that determines the success or failure of your entire sales process. Do a poor first appointment by talking too much, or ‘spilling your candy in the lobby’ and you’re doomed. Prospects won’t show up on the next call, and they will be lost and gone forever. There is an art and a science to doing the first appointment effectively and you’ll see exactly how to do it right. It starts with our 13 steps first appointment playbook. In this playbook you’ll get:

2023.06.10 11:11 Throwaway81G791 How to juggle working 11 hours a day and college?

Sorry in advance for long read. Hi, I need advice on how to juggle working 11 hours a day at a chicken processing factory while getting a degree. I am extremely interested in studying computer science or Internet technology and know at this point I will probably need a degree with the job market as competitive as it is. I also plan on getting the CompTIA Trifecta but am studying for ITF+ first just to have a good base to start off. Once I get the A+ I’m going to apply to help desk jobs to try to get my foot in the door but I know those will be around what I make now. I would like to one day down the line/end goal work with network engineering or cybersecurity. Even the study of the ITF+ is going very slow with walking to and from work and household duties I’m already cutting my sleep short. The only time I have free time is weekends when I catch up on sleep but I get off at 3am so by the time I wake up Saturday is already half gone. I’m 28 F, my husband almost 33. I make 15.50 an hour working almost 11 hours and he makes $18. We live an absolute poverty in a infested falling apart slum shithole and having a family is extremely extremely important to us so I know I need to get a degree and good job and get a safe home sooner than later. My husband has no interest in ever going to school and feels strongly about this, he is under the impression if you still just put in good work and do the time it’s easy to climb up the ladder. Which I haven’t found to be the case as my work ethic is alot stronger than his. So it’s up to me, as I am extremely aware of my fertility time clock. I am slightly on the autism spectrum and I know the older I am that can increase the chances for my child to inherit it. I am also worried about taking on student debt while trying to afford to start a family in the next few years if I can’t manage to find a decent salary job as I see a lot of people even with degrees struggling. I dropped out of highschool at 16 due to bad mental health/depression but got my GED when I was 21. I need advice as I don’t really know much about college. I have a university about three miles away and a community college 6 miles away. I can’t drive but I do plan on getting a bicycle soon, mainly because I’m being harassed by men as I walk home (3am/bad neighborhood, you get the drift). My husband leaves for work at 7 AM so he’s not able to drive me to classes on weekdays and is not home by the time I leave for work at 2pm. I am unsure how it would work with credited classes and if it would be possible to only take weekend classes without it dragging on the degree for an insane amount of years, as when I think “college student” I assume they are taking classes 8 hours a day 5 days a week to get a 4 year bachelor’s on time? I read on the community college website and have heard from people a bachelors will be important to get mid level in the field, where I’ll need to probably be to be able to afford a family on top of a safe home. I just need some outside insight and direction because I’m so burnt out, and my current job has been affecting me physically and im starting to have pain in my shoulder and neck that’s not going away along with carpal tunnel and I’m worried about getting a long term injury, but I need the overtime. And if I ever want a family I need to do something now school wise and I feel trapped and have no idea how im going to do this. I’ve considered maybe an online school, but I am unsure if it would hold the same merit or opportunities in this field. I have been told it’s extremely important to do internships but it seems alot are unpaid and I can’t even begin to process how I would juggle that on top of classes and work
