Free trash can for compost?

2023.06.10 20:23 jpochoag Free trash can for compost?

I’ve started to compost recently using a plastic kitchen bin I got free from some people who were moving. It’s been going great, but it’s getting full and now I’d like to start a 2nd bin to let the current one completely turn into soil while continuing to compost.
I live in an apartment, and just keep it in the balcony.
Any ideas on top of Craigslist, FB marketplace or the building’s trash room where I could find another free trash can in Seattle?
Ps: I didn’t know composting was so easy

2023.06.10 18:11 Unacceptable0pinion Where/how to sell my Gold Crown 1?

I have a Brunswick GC1 in great condition that has been refinished by the previous owner. I paid $3000 for it since it was in such nice shape, but understand that I will probably get less, that's ok.
Love the table but am moving to an apartment which can no longer fit one.
My question is, as someone who has never sold a table, where do I sell it? I want to sell it to someone who understand they are a buying a great table in great shape, not someone who is looking to buy any random table.
Ideas so far, but let me know if I am missing anything:
Any other avenues to sell specifically to people looking for a nice table (serious billiards players / dealers)? Thanks.

2023.06.10 09:51 The1stCitizenOfTheIn Twitter Files Extra: How the World's "No-Kidding Decision Makers" Got Organized

In honor of this week’s RightsCon and 360/OS Summit, we dug into the #TwitterFiles to revisit the integration of the Atlantic Council’s anti-disinformation arm, the Digital Forensic Research Labs (DFRLabs), while also highlighting its relationship with weapons manufacturers, Big Oil, Big Tech, and others who fund the NATO-aligned think tank.
The Atlantic Council is unique among “non-governmental” organizations thanks to its lavish support from governments and the energy, finance, and weapons sectors. It’s been a key player in the development of the “anti-disinformation” sector from the beginning.
It wasn’t an accident when its DFRLabs was chosen in 2018 to help Facebook “monitor for misinformation and foreign interference,” after the platform came under intense congressional scrutiny as a supposed unwitting participant in a Russian influence campaign.
Press uniformly described DFRLabs as an independent actor that would merely “improve security,” and it was left to media watchdog FAIR to point out that the Council was and is “dead center in what former President Obama’s deputy national security advisor Ben Rhodes called ‘the blob.’”
What’s “the blob”? FAIR described it as “Washington’s bipartisan foreign-policy consensus,” but thanks to the Twitter Files, we can give a more comprehensive portrait.
In the runup to the 360/OS event in that same year, 2018, Graham Brookie of the Atlantic Council boasted to Twitter executives that the attendees would include the crème de la crème of international influence, people he explained resided at the “no-kidding decision-maker level”
Similar correspondence to and from DFRLabs and Twitter outlined early efforts to bring together as partners groups that traditionally served as watchdogs of one another.
Perhaps more even than the World Economic Forum meetings at Davos or gatherings of the Aspen Institute in the US, the Atlantic Council 360/OS confabs are as expansive a portrait of the Censorship-Industrial Complex as we’ve found collected in one place.
In October 2018, DFRLab was instrumental in helping Facebook identify accounts for what became known as “the purge,” a first set of deletions of sites accused of “coordinated inauthentic behavior.”
Facebook in its announcement of these removals said it was taking steps against accounts created to “stir up political debate,” and the October 2018 “purge” indeed included the likes of Punk Rock Libertarians, Cop Block, and Right Wing News, among others. Even the progressive Reverb Press, founded by a relatively mainstream progressive named James Reader, found his site zapped after years of pouring thousands of dollars a month into Facebook marketing tools.
In the years since, DFRLab has become the central coordination node in the Censorship Industrial Complex as well as a key protagonist in the Election Integrity Partnership and the Virality Project.
Its high-profile role at RightsCon, the biggest civil society digital rights event on the calendar, should concern human rights and free expression activists.
According to their London 2019 event “360/OS brings together journalists, activists, innovators, and leaders from around the world as part of our grassroots digital solidarity movement fighting for objective truth as a foundation of democracy.”
Their Digital Sherlocks program aims to “identify, expose, and explain disinformation.”
The Twitter Files reveal DFRLabs labeled as “disinformation” content that often turned out to be correct, that they participated in disinformation campaigns and the suppression of “true” information, and that they lead the coordination of a host of actors who do the same.
Twitter Files #17 showed how DFRLabs sent Twitter more than 40,000 names of alleged BJP (India’s ruling nationalist party) accounts that they suggested be taken down.
DFRLab said it suspected these were “paid employees or possibly volunteers.” However as Racket’s Matt Taibbi noted, “the list was full of ordinary Americans, many with no connection to India and no clue about Indian politics.”
Twitter recognized there was little illegitimate about them, resulting in DFRLabs pulling the project and cutting ties with the researcher.
Twitter Files #19 further revealed DFRLab was a core partner in the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP), which “came together in June of 2020 at the encouragement of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, or CISA” in order to “fill the gaps legally” that government couldn’t.
As a result, there are serious questions as to whether the EIP violated the US First Amendment.
DFRLabs was also a core partner on the Virality Project, which pushed its seven Big Tech partners to censor “stories of true vaccine side-effects.”
The Stanford Internet Observatory, which led the project, is now being sued by the New Civil Liberties Alliance for its censorship of “online support groups catering to those injured by Covid vaccines.”
Debate as to the frequency of serious adverse events is ongoing, however. The German health minister put it at 1 in 10,000, while others claim it is higher.
The Virality Project sought to suppress any public safety signals at all. The Stanford Internet Observatory is also at the moment reportedly resisting a House Judiciary Committee subpoena into its activities.
TwitterFiles #20 revealed some of the Digital Forensic Lab’s 2018 360/0S events, which brought together military leaders, human rights organizations, the Huffington Post, Facebook and Twitter, Edelman (the world’s biggest PR firm), the head of the Munich Security Conference, the head of the World Economic Forum (Borge Brende) a former President, Prime Minister and CIA head, intel front BellingCat and future Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Ressa, all to combat “disinformation.” We can now reveal more.
The Atlantic Council is a NATO-aligned think tank established in 1961. Its board of directors and advisory board are a Who’s Who of corporate, intelligence and military power, including:
  • James Clapper – former Director of National Intelligence whose tenure included overseeing the NSA during the time of the Snowden leaks. Asked whether intelligence officials collect data on Americans Clapper responded “No, sir,” and, “Not wittingly.” Clapper also coordinated intelligence community activity through the early stages of Russiagate, and his office authored a key January 2017 report concluding that Russians interfered in 2016 to help Donald Trump. Clapper has been a 360/OS attendee.
  • Stephen Hadley, United States National Security Advisor from 2005 to 2009 (also a 360/OS attendee)
  • Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State who oversaw the carpet bombing of Vietnam, among other crimes against humanity
  • Pfizer CEO Anthony Bourla
  • Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder, The Blackstone Group
  • Meta’s President for Global Affairs, Nick Clegg
  • Richard Edelman, CEO of the world’s largest PR firm (and 360/OS attendee)
  • The Rt. Hon. Lord Robertson of Port Ellen, Former Secretary General of NATO
  • Ambassador Robert B. Zoellick, Former President of the World Bank
  • Leon Panetta, former US Secretary of Defense & CIA Director. Panetta oversaw the US’s massive growth in drone strikes.
  • John F. W. Rogers. Goldman Sachs Secretary of the Board
Chuck Hagel, chairman of the Council, sits on the board of Chevron and is also a former US Secretary of Defence.
The Atlantic Council raised $70 million in 2022, $25 million of which came from corporate interests.
Among the biggest donors were: the US Departments of Defense State, Goldman Sachs, the Rockefeller Foundation, Craigslist founder Craig Newmark, Google, Crescent Petroleum, Chevron, Lockheed Martin, General Atomics, Meta, Blackstone, Apple, BP, eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, Raytheon, ExxonMobil, Shell, Twitter, and many more.
Ukraine’s scandal-ridden energy company, Burisma, whose links to Hunter Biden were suppressed by the August 2020 table-top exercise coordinated by the Aspen Institute, also made a contribution.
You can view the full 2022 “honor roll” by clicking here.
The Atlantic Council and DFRLabs don’t hide their militarist affiliations.
This week’s OS/360 event at RightsCon Costa Rica runs together with a 360/OS at NATO’s Riga StratCom Dialogue, which DFRLab note they have “worked closely with” “since 2016.”
DFRLabs was founded in 2016, and has been a major catalyst in expanding the “anti-disinformation” industry.
Among non-governmental entities, perhaps only the Aspen Institute comes close to matching the scope, scale and funding power of DFRLabs.
DFRLabs claims to chart “the evolution of disinformation and other online and technological harms, especially as they relate to the DFRLab’s leadership role in establishing shared definitions, frameworks, and mitigation practices.”
Almost $7 million of the Atlantic Council’s $61 million spent last year went to the DRFLabs, according to their 2022 annual financial report.
Through its fellowship program, it has incubated leading figures in the “disinformation” field.
Richard Stengel, the first director of the Global Engagement Center (GEC), was a fellow.
GEC is an interagency group “within” the State Department (also a funder of the Atlantic Council), whose initial partners included the FBI, DHS, NSA, CIA, DARPA, Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and others.
GEC is now a major funder of DFRLabs and a frequent partner
In this video, Stengel says, “I’m not against propaganda. Every country does it, they have to do it to their own population, and I don’t think it’s that awful.”
Stengel was true to his word, and apart from DFRLab, the GEC funded the Global Disinformation Index, which set out to demonetize conservative media outlets it claimed were “disinformation.” (See 37. in the censorship list)
He thought the now-disgraced Hamilton68 was “fantastic.” In total, GEC funded 39 organizations in 2017.
Despite Freedom of Information requests, only 3 have been made public to date.
Roughly $78 million of GEC’s initial $100 million budget outlay for fiscal year 2017 came from the Pentagon, though the budgetary burden has shifted more toward the State Department in the years since.
The Global Engagement Center was established in the last year of Barack Obama’s presidency, via a combination of an executive order and a bipartisan congressional appropriation, led by Ohio Republican Rob Portman and Connecticut Democrat Chris Murphy.
The GEC was and remains virtually unknown, but reporting in the Twitter Files and by outlets like the Washington Examiner have revealed it to be a significant financial and logistical supporter of “anti-disinformation” causes.
Though tasked by Obama with countering “foreign state and non-state propaganda and disinformation efforts aimed at undermining United States national security interests,” its money has repeatedly worked its way back in the direction of policing domestic content, with Gabe Kaminsky’s Examiner reports on the GDI providing the most graphic example.
GEC frequently sent lists of “disinformation agents to Twitter.” Yoel Roth, former head of Trust and Safety referred to one list as a “total crock.” Roth is now a member of DFRLab’s Task Force for a Trustworthy Future Web. Let’s hope he brings more trust than Stengel. You can read more on GEC’s funding here.
Other DFRLab luminaries include Simon Clark, Chairman of the Center for Countering Digital Hate (a UK “anti-disinformation” outfit that aggressively deplatforms dissidents), Ben Nimmo (previously a NATO press officer, then of Graphika (EIP and the Virality Project partners) and now Facebook’s Global Threat Intelligence Lead), and Eliot Higgins of Bellingcat.
Bellingcat has an ominous reputation, which it’s earned in numerous ways, including its funding by the National Endowment for Democracy...
Most recently, Bellingcat assisted in the arrest of the 21-year-old Pentagon leaker, further speeding up the abandonment of the Pentagon Papers Principal where the media protected, rather than persecuted, leakers.
Bellingcat was part of 360/OS backroom meetings with former intel chiefs, the head of Davos and the Munich security conference among many others, as we will see soon.
The Virality Project built on the EIP and had partnerships with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Google, TikTok and more to combat vaccine “misinformation.”
Stanford and DFRLab partnered with the University of Washington’s Center for an Informed Public, Graphika, NYU Tandon School of Engineering and Center for Social Media and Politics, and the National Congress on Citizenship.
Through a shared Jira ticketing system they connected these Big Tech platforms together, with Graphika using sophisticated AI to surveil the online conversation at scale in order to catch “misinformation” troublemakers.
VP went far beyond any kind of misinformation remit, most infamously recommending to their Big Tech partners that they consider “true stories of vaccine side effects” as “standard misinformation on your platform.”
A Virality Project partner called the Algorithmic Transparency Initiative (a project of the National Congress on Citizenship) went further.
Their Junkipedia initiative sought to address “problematic content” via the “automated collection of data” from “closed messaging apps,” and by building a Stasi-like “civic listening corps,” which in recent years has taken on a truly sinister-sounding mission.
The current incarnation might as well be called “SnitchCorps,” as “volunteers have an opportunity to join a guided monitoring shift to actively participate in monitoring topics that disrupt communities”
Garret Graff, who oversaw the Aspen Hunter Biden table-top exercise, was chairman of that same National Congress on Citizenship when they collaborated on the Virality Project.
Both EIP and VP were led by Renee DiResta of the Stanford Internet Observatory, a former CIA fellow who engineered the now disgraced New Knowledge initiative, which developed fake Russian bots to discredit a 2017 Alabama senate race candidate, as acknowledged by the Washington Post.
DFRLab are the elite of the “anti-disinformation” elite.
They work closely with a wide range of actors who have participated in actual disinformation initiatives.
Here they’re invited to an elite Twitter group set up by Nick Pickles of “anti-disinformation” luminaries First Draft, also participants in the Hunter Biden laptop tabletop, and the Alliance for Security Democracy, part of the RussiaGate Hamilton68 disinformation operation.
The 360/OS event marries this tarnished record with the financial, political, military, NGO, academic and intelligence elite. Some of this is visible through publicly available materials.
Twitter Files however reveal the behind the scenes, including closed door, off-the-record meetings.
“I’ve just arrived in Kyiv” Brookie notes in 2017, as he seeks to line up a meeting with Public Policy Director Nick Pickles as they discuss Twitter providing a USD $150K contribution to OS/360 (seemingly secured), and to garner high level Twitter participation.
Pickles is visiting DC and Brookie suggests he also meet with the GEC and former FBI agent Clint Watts of Hamilton 68 renown. “Happy to make those connections,” he chimes.
360/OS events are elite and expensive — $1 million according to Brookie — so closer collaboration with Twitter, especially in the form of funding, is a high priority.
Twitter offers $150,000
When Brookie mentions the attendees at the “no-kidding decision maker level” he isn’t kidding.
Parallel to the 360/OS public program is the much more important off-the-record meeting of “decision makers ranging from the C-Suite to the Situation Room.”
Here, he is explicit about a convening of military and financial power.
Vanguard 25 is presented as a way to “create a discreet and honest way to close the information gap on challenges like disinformation between key decision makers from government, tech, and media.”
The document boasts of its high-level participants
More are revealed in email exchanges, including Madeleine Albright and the head of the WEF
They go on to list a bizarre mishmash of media leaders, intelligence officials, and current or former heads of state
...Germany’s Angela Merkel was out of reach in the end, but many of the others attended this behind the scenes meeting on “disinformation.” Who are they?
  • Matthias Dopfner – CEO and 22% owner of German media empire Axel Springer SE, the biggest media publishing firm in Europe
  • Borge Brende – head of the World Economic Forum and former Norwegian foreign minister
  • Toomas Hendrick Ilves – former President of Estonia who co-chairs the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Blockchain Technology. Hendrick is also a fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (where the Stanford Internet Observatory is housed) and is on the advisory council of the Alliance for Securing Democracy, of Hamilton 68 renown.
  • Chris Sacca – billionaire venture capitalist
  • Mounir Mahjoubi – previously Digital Manager for President Macron’s presidential campaign, and former Chairman of the French Digital Council
  • Reid Hoffman – billionaire and Linkedin co-founder
  • Ev Williams – Former CEO of Twitter and on the Twitter board at the time
  • Kara Swisher – New York Times opinion writer, who founded Vox Media Recode
  • Wolfgang Ischinger - Head of the Munich Security Conference
  • Aleksander Kwasniewski – Former President of Poland. Led Poland into NATO and the EU.
  • Richard Edelman – CEO of the largest PR company in the world
  • Elliot Shrage – previously Vice-President of Public Policy at Facebook (DFRLab had election integrity projects with Facebook)
  • Lydia Polgreen – Huffington Post Editor in Chief
  • Jim Clapper –former US Director of National Intelligence
  • Maria Ressa – co-founder of Rappler and soon to be winner of the Nobel Peace Prize
Why would such a group all gather specifically around the question of “disinformation”?
Is disinformation truly at such a level that it requires bringing together the world’s most popular author with military and intelligence leaders, the world’s biggest PR company, journalists, billionaires, Big Tech and more?
Or is this work to build the case that there is a disinformation crisis, to then justify the creation of a massive infrastructure for censorship? A glimpse of the agenda offers clues
Here the head of the most important military and intelligence conference in the world (Munich) sits down in a closed door meeting with a former Secretary of State and the Executive Vice-Chair of the Atlantic Council.
Which is followed by a closed door session with the Editor-in Chief of the ...Huffington Post and peace-maker Maria Ressa who presented to the same group of military, intelligence, corporate and other elites.
Is the role of a journalist and Nobel laureate to work behind closed doors with militarists and billionaires, or to hold them to account?
At 2022’s OS/360 at RightsCon Ressa conducted a softball interview on disinformation with current US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
In testimony last April 2023, former CIA deputy director Michael Morrell stated that Blinken “set in motion the events that led to the issuance of the public statement” by more than 50 former intelligence officials that the Hunter Biden laptop had “all the classic earmarks of a Russia information operation.”
The Twitter Files also revealed that in August 2020 the Aspen Institute organized a table-top exercise to practice how best to respond to a “hack and leak” of a Hunter Biden laptop.
The laptop only came to light however two months later.
In attendance was First Draft (now the Information Futures Lab), the New York Times, Washington Post, Rolling Stone, CNN, Yahoo! News, Facebook, Twitter and more.
Here, DFRLab head Graham Brookie speaks with the Aspen Institute’s Garret Graff, who coordinated the Hunter Biden tabletop exercise.
After it turned out the Hunter Biden laptop was real, and the disinformation operation was more appropriately described as having been led by the likes of Blinken and the Aspen Institute.
The appropriate response is apparently for RightsCon, DFRLab, Blinken and Ressa to put on a nice forum to promote these figures as “anti-disinformation” leaders.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8YTPuTC9xs
Former DFRLab fellow and intel front Bellingcat founder Eliot Higgins is also invited to the closed door sessions with a former head of the CIA, a former Prime Minister and a President.
How do you keep power accountable when you are in the same cozy club? This theme runs throughout.
Bellingcat is featured heavily at the public sessions also
On the public side, we see Amnesty International participating to further collapse the distinction between those who are meant to hold power to account, and the powerful themselves.
The Iraq war gave us embedded journalists, and the “anti-disinformation” field gives us embedded digital rights activists.
The Department of Homeland Security’s Chris Krebs also joined the closed door session.
Krebs was Co-Chair of the Aspen Institute’s Commission on Information Disorder.
Other members included Prince Harry, the Virality Project’s Alex Stamos (Stanford Internet Observatory) and Kate Starbird (University of Washington and previous 360/OS participant), Katie Couric, and more. Craig Newmark attended as an observer.
Meanwhile Renee DiResta, former CIA fellow and Stanford Internet Observatory Research Director, presented with the former Prime Minister of Sweden.
This was years before she would launch the Virality Project, and take on the bugbear of “true stories of vaccine side effects.”
The President of the Atlantic Council participated in an “off-the-record, “ behind closed doors conversation on “trust” with the CEO of the world’s biggest PR firm, Edelman.
“Public relations” and “trust” may well be opposites, and trust is being destroyed not by the disinformation street crime that these groups claim to target, but by the disinformation corporate crime protected by, or in some cases created by these same people.
Disinformation is real, but its biggest purveyors are governments and powerful corporate interests.
DFRLab and RightsCon show just how far the capture of civil society by elite interests has come. Again, I made a mistake helping to co-organize RightsCon in 2015.
The jumping in bed with the government and Big Tech was arguably there in 2015, though to a much lesser degree.
It now partners with militarists in the form of the Atlantic Council and is an enabler of the “disinformation” grift that is so deeply impacting freedom of speech and expression.
The air-gaps that should separate civil society, media, military, billionaires, intelligence and government have collapsed, and many of these actors have formed a new alliance to advance their shared interests.
If weapons manufacturers funding human rights is considered legitimate then where is the red line? Effectively, there is none.
This collapse however has also been pushed by funders, who have been proactive in asking NGOs to collaborate more with Big Tech and government - something I successfully resisted for my almost 18 years at EngageMedia, critically RightsCon was the only time I let my guard down.
The RightsCon sponsor matrix wouldn’t be out of place at NASCAR
This is the equivalent of hosting a Climate Change conference sponsored by Shell, BP, Chevron, and ExxonMobil.
How do you keep power accountable when Big Tech pays your wage? The “let’s all work together” approach has failed.
The weakest partner, civil society, got captured and we lost.
Many more lost their way and have acquiesced to and often enabled much of the new censorship regime.

2023.06.10 04:49 GomuGomuNo5_5 Are beauty pageants actually bad?

I know l'Il probably get ripped apart for this, but as an ex pageant girly I truly enjoyed doing them. My husband and I got into a debate about letting our daughter do them and of course he's against it, but I think there is a bad stigma attached to it. I was able to travel and make a lot of good friends from different parts of the country. There were interview portions that you had to do and I just think getting to practice that at a young age has been pretty beneficial in my adult life. There hasn't been a job that I wanted and didn't get. Also you needed a talent and I think having a young girl have a talent is a great idea. I feel like it can really make girls well rounded by teaching them these skills and confidence on top of it! So are pageants actually bad? Or did someone deem it as bad and everyone just hopped on the bandwagon?

2023.06.10 01:52 DragonEceTheFirst [Letter] Asking for help.

Hey. I am a 28 year old guy from Sweden writing here to do what i find to be one of the hardest things in life. Asking for help. I will have to say sorry in advance for my bad spelling/grammar as i have dyslexia. I have been in a battle in both body and mind the past five years due to a work related accident. I crushed my left leg at work and have been receiving a very lackluster help from the care system in place here, i guess one could say i have fallen through the cracks, and everything in life have been standing on a halt for the last five years despite 10+ visits to the hospital every month. to make things clear i have received some help but there as been a lot of carelessness and hopes that the issues will solve themselves after some time. sadly that has not been the case i just recently meet a doctor that looked through the leg and decided to take on my case as its become rather urgent if i wanna keep it. i have thus far made two surgery's, and what was discovered this week is that the they have cut off several nerves in the leg as well as some for sensitivity. aside from that there is more nerves that are heavily damaged as well as other things wrong inside the leg. partly the blood supply to the leg there are some veins missing as well as some leaking into the muscles. he is also suspecting muscle damage and some of this issues have become rather big as things have not been done to them in time. as of right now we are talking about more surgery's that might have to be done to get some nerve ending out. as well as putting in a pacemaker to block out nerve signals.
i dont know how much i can go into it as of right now, i could honestly spend days writing about the whole journey and im planning on maybe doing so as to let people follow me on my journey for rehabilitation.- with that part said. i should probably go into my background a little bit to give the whole picture as to why im asking for help. (and in my heart probably other to connect with)
to start with i never really had any proper connection to my real dad. the few times i meet him he was an ass. and the few times i came to live with him i never really saw him around. that said. i have not really had any contact with him the past 15 years. so i cant say much more on that front. and yeah. my mum and dad separated before i was born. and i have been living with my mom this whole time. good or bad. im honestly not sure of today. to make things clear as to why i feel that way. I love her with all of my heart. at the same time i hate her for what she has done the past 10 years.
i have always struggled in when it comes to doing things i find boring or dont give me a challenge in life. I used to do good in school but was a bully victim for my entire education. That in itself comes with its fare share of problems and struggles but i always manage to push back and build myself up. the worst part here comes in to the fact that i never really had a safe home. The guys my mom where meeting where complete asshats and to give a picture one of them almost beat both me and my mom to death with another four grown ass men sitting in the same room watching. so we are talking the worst of human garbage (excuse my language) but i guess its important to know as i realize this effected both me and my mom. so i really never had a safe place. with that picture painted id like to continue to ten years ago.
my mum meet a guy she married when i was about 10 years old. he was decent i guess. but yeah we have our incidents there to. to shorten the story they separated when i was about 18years old. and after that my mom pretty much cracked down. i was on a trip to Kenya with my school to become teachers for a month in a slum area for kidds between 5-16 years old. During this period i have zero access to internet in order to pay my bills. i gave my mum the loggins to my bank so she could pay my bills for me. sadly when i came home she had not paid a single bill. but instead taken the money to pay her own bills (at that time had no way of getting money for the for the next two months) meaning i had no way of paying the bills at all (i had things saved up so that would not be a problem) but now it all was gone. i can not put into words the disappointment i feelt at that time and have pretty much never come over it. this in turn forced me to quit school to get myself some work (also meaning i had to pay back money to the government) that i got for studying. in order to pay it all with extra charges due to three month behind payments. this was after i spent most of my income trying to help her keep her house for about a year. a house she could not afford bigtime but refused to sell and the money i put in was to give her time to sell it. she did after that year and got double what we paid for it. and i never got a penny back from it. instead she got herself a motorbike and the license for it. and skipped paying her debts this topic of disappointment have not stopped during the past ten years. and i despite it all deiced to give it my all and try to help her in hopes of a better future and getting her out from her financial issues. sadly that is something that will never happen cuz she cant manage money and dont know how the real world around it work. i sacrificed a lot of my youth to help her out including planed trips due to lack of money cuz i helped her out.
why do i find this important to know? my financial background is the reason im having to ask for help at this point in my life as i have done everything and beyond in my own power to stay afloat and above the surface until Im back on my own two feet again. helping her out was no issue as i had work and the financial means to do so. this included loans for a car and more loans for stuff (as she also it taking care of my two younger brothers) this was never a problem as i could afford it. but when the accident happened all that changed, i have been struggling financially myself the past five years due to this and due to a lot of wrongdoings on the governmental agency's paying out the money while i have been unable to work. that set me behind a month two or even as much as three or four, extra expenses i never getting compensation for. i have always managed to get myself out of the hellhole despite struggling mentality to handle it all.
after manage to survive this long and using up every trick in my bag to keep up and breathing im now out of ways to pass that wall. while i have finely found a doctor taking on my case and taking rains of all the work rules and laws regarding my own case when it comes to my right to money and help from the governmental agency's everything is a process and takes months to get through. today im in the shitts cuz i have been falling through the cracks in every way possible and have had rotten luck with the ppl that are suppose to handle the governmental things. but im so close to getting everything changed giving me a better chance at coming back to somewhat of a normal life again. and yet due to the recent fukups with the money im supposed to get out from the agency's every month my life is on the verge of falling apart completely due to the fact that i got no more backups or tricks to solve things.
as someone who always want to make things right for myself and who always managed to solve my own issues and take care of myself as well as others. and as someone that always wants to earn everything in life im now asking for help. i have meet a good psychologist and honestly i feel like my mind is a work of art in itself cuz the more things goes to shitt the more my body strain to get out of it no matter what. and my mind follows that. its like a light never how small always shined bright even in the darkest of thoughts. but the financial part i just have no abilities to solve at the moment. and thus ask if there is any way possible i could get help with that Peter Jordan? i swear if needed be i will pay back every single penny the moment i can put money aside again right now i need to survive about three more months and after that my situation should be fixed. if i cant manage to secure this help im moving out on the streets and will most likely not be able to get back. and i feel that would be my breaking point after doing everything i possibly can to avoid it.
to make it Simple im asking for financial aid to help me cover about three months of expenses (and catch up what has been missed the past two months.) during this time im fighting the system for changes that would change my whole position and situation and make it easier for me to get out into work and the help i need to do so. (on that part i already have a company willing to hire me and help me work my body up after my own capabilities) but for that to happen the governmental agency's have to change my current support stance. (that is currently under investigation) at the same time im now going to get proper help to get my body back in somewhat of a functioning state. if needed il pay back every single penny helping me out once im able and capable of doing so. im willing to stay in contact and update everything needed for this help.
i think that will be it for me. again im sorry if its unclear or hard to follow what i have been writing I have done my best to make it as good as possible. and thanks you for reading i wish you an amazing day.
ps. i will never ever stop fighting or give up no matter what. the harder the situation the harder i will fight, in hopes for a better life and being able to make it all a story later on to hopefully inspire others that struggle. that is my end goal and has always been.
i dont know how this work as i have never really had a reddit account before. but if you would be interesting in a conversation or decided you would want and could help me out this time you can reach me on my Mail ([[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]))

2023.06.10 01:00 Evan_Veet Playoff Stats Deep Dive: Pre-Masters Tokyo

With Master’s Tokyo on the way, I felt like it was the perfect time to revisit something I’ve been very interested in for a while now, and something that gets underrated by many fans in the Valorant community, playoff performance. Similar to how the NBA operates, Valorant has many stars that shine bright in regular season games, but struggle when it matters most (I’m looking at you Joel Embiid).
For this post, I’ve compiled data dating back to Stage 2 Reykjavik in 2021 and took the stats from playoffs of every LAN since then. I defined playoffs as past group stage for every LAN but Lock In and Reykjavik, where I choose to use the games from the last 8 remaining teams. This is why you won’t see stats for players from EDG or Furia, as they have made LANs but never advanced to playoffs.
Methodology:
As previously stated I was only looking at playoff stats, how players play against the top 8 teams in the world at the time. Now I am a man with a job and other social responsibilities, so the statistics are not in-depth, and that’s why I will make a disclaimer right here. This is not a perfect representation of player skill and I am not claiming that my results are gospel, I’m simply having fun and compiling data about my favorite game. Now for how I collected it…
I took the rating from every game of every player of every match played in playoffs. 44190 rounds over 77 games played over 7 LANs. The metric I used was VLR rating, as that is the most accessible site to navigate and the most general stat you can find to correlate player skill. As I said in my disclaimer, this is not a perfect rating, if I was doing something like baseball it would be very easy with something like Wins Above Replacement(WAR), but Valorant doesn’t have that. For now, this will have to do. From there, I took every game that a player played and averaged it out. For players like the old Guild roster(excluding Leo because of his FNC run) it was as simple as averaging two different games and coming up with a number. For a team like the Optic core, however, it was a 17-game average. In general, using map vs overall game averages had little effect apart from maybe a .01-03 rating difference, and I for sure do not have enough time to go through literally every map. I will also be using 200 rounds as the cutoff point for all of my data, as that includes the G2 core of Avova Nukkye and Mixwell who have been to two playoffs and cuts off Kryptix and V1 who only played once over 2 years ago. Thus…. Onto the data.
The Data:
TL:DR Links
This spreadsheet can summarize all that I am saying. It has data of every player ever and sorts out different categories I will talk about.
First things first: The best of the best
Of all players with 200 or more rounds played, the best-rated playoff player is….
TENZ
With a 1.27 rating over 249 rounds, the Sentinels star duelist is the best performer by .2 points and it’s not too much of a surprise. Tenz has played in 2 playoffs, Stage 2 and 3 of 2021, and amassed 244 kills in 249 rounds over that span. Obviously, his Stage 3 was much worse than his Stage 2, but with the best performance ever at a LAN, it makes sense that he’s at number one.
As for players with over 400 rounds, and who I would truly crown the king of playoff games it's…
CHRONICLE
With an insane 1.25 rating and 620 rounds played, Chronicle is by far the most consistently good player when it matters most. He’s my personal pick for GOAT of the game, and it makes sense why. The only player with 2 championships and one of only 4 to go to three grand finals. Chronicle has done it playing nine different agents across every role, most notably with his Sova, Brim, and Viper. The best flex in the world will be playing in Tokyo with a chance to bolster his crazy numbers even more.
The next two players are probably no surprise, as NATS and YAY round out the top 4. Both considered to be the two best players during their year of terror, Nats boasts a 1.21 rating with Yay at a 1.18. Yay also is tied with Marved for 4th most rounds of all time, only behind the Optic trio that stayed with NRG and played in Lock In “playoffs”. Both are in contention for the highest individual peaks of all time alongside the two ahead of him.
Rounding out the top 10 is:
Scream (1.18)
Leo (1.17)
Sacy (1.15)
Shahzam (1.15)
Cryo (1.14)
Shao, Cned, and Sick tied at (1.12)
Shaz is the only IGL on this list, and surprisingly not a single smokes player is in the top 10, with Mako being the closest at 15th. Duelist and Sova players by far reign supreme, as they account for 10/12 players I listed.
Now for the not so good, the worst performers in the playoffs. With over 200+ rounds the worst performer was…
DELZ1K
The former KRU controller has an abysmal .79 rating over 222 rounds. The sample size is small with only one large showing in a tournament at Champions 2021, but the now free agent was the only player with an under .8 rating. For context, that is nearly the same rating as dephh in 2023.
Of players with over 400 rounds, #1 is ANGE1, but it is kind of unfair since he is an IGL, so of non-IGLs the worst is…
RB
Maybe a surprise to many, but the Korean flex has been awful when it matters most. Boasting 895 rounds played, tied for 9th most, he has a .85 rating, by far the lowest with Jamppi at .93 being the closest non-igl with >400 rounds. He’s someone that’s consistently in the conversation for top 3 flex player, but I’m not sure that’s merited when he’s .12 rating points lower than his closest teammate and IGL.
Some other notable names include:
Ange1 (.8)
FNS (.83)
Shyy (.86)
BcJ and Zekken (.93)
Masters Tokyo
The top 10 players going into Masters Tokyo are
  1. FNC Chronicle 1.25
  2. TL Nats 1.21
  3. FNC Leo 1.17
  4. FNC Derke 1.12
  5. NAVI Shao 1.12
  6. NAVI Cned 1.12
  7. LOUD Aspas 1.11
  8. DRX Mako 1.1
  9. PRX F0rsaken 1.09
  10. LOUD Less/NAVI Suygestu 1.08
TL Sayf additionally has a 1.3 rating from his time with Guild but with just 100 rounds he doesn’t meet the criteria
The bottom 10 players are
  1. NAVI Ange1 .8
  2. NRG FNS .83
  3. DRX Rb .85
  4. TL Jamppi .93
  5. LOUD Saadhak .94
  6. TL Soulcas .96
  7. DRX Stax .97
  8. NRG Victor .97
  9. DRX Buzz .98
  10. NRG Crashies .99
Some surprising names on this list but only 31/60 players have over 200 rounds that are going to Masters Tokyo, so this list features many familiar faces, most surprisingly the NRG duo as well as Buzz.
Ethan at .9 with 108 rounds and s0m at .97 with 78 rounds would also be here.
Teams at Tokyo
On average, the highest-rated team at Tokyo is unsurprisingly Fnatic with a crazy 1.13 avg playoff rating. Liquid comes in at second with a 1.09, likely boosted by prime Nats and Sayf’s low rounds. FUT, EG, EDG, and ASE don’t have enough players to rate, so NRG is the lowest-rated team with an average rating of .97. DRX comes in at second with .98
The most experienced team is NRG with 4175 rounds combined, with DRX and FNC both barely eclipsing 3500 in 2nd and 3rd place. FUT, EDG, and ASE have 0 combined, and EG and T1 both have under 200. By far the most inexperienced 5 teams at the event, with PRX coming in 6th with 1812 rounds.
The best playoff performers not at Tokyo are:
  1. Tenz
  2. Yay
  3. Scream
  4. Sacy
  5. Shahzam
Sacy, Scream and Tenz could all technically make Champions with upset LCQ runs.
Overall Takeaways:
Rb is one of the worst playoff performers and is an anomaly among players that have as much play time as him.
TL, FNC, and NAVI have three of the most talented rosters of all time on paper, all in the same region.
Peak SEN was extremely talented, as was GMB, but only playing 2 LAN playoffs as teams means it’s impossible to truly know how good they could’ve been.
Optic core is definitely hurt by the sheer rounds they’ve played. Marved, Crashies, and Victor all have surprisingly low numbers, but it’s likely because they play so much more than anyone else that their stats regress to a more general mean.
Scream is probably one of the more underrated individuals, and it's a shame this is where his career has gone. Consistently amazing at LAN but has never really had the collection of 5 or an IGL to work with him.
Though not mentioned in this post, D3ffo’s 1.11 ACS in playoffs is crazy, especially considering he was putting up <1 rating during EMEA league play
Conclusion:
So WTF was the point of all of this work?
Well… I don’t really know. It’s not perfect data, but it does give a general idea of some key things to look out for in Tokyo. I think some players are personally very overrated, and some don’t get the respect they deserve when it comes to LAN performances, and this practice did give me some clarity on certain individuals.
Either way, it was a fun exercise and hopefully you’ve at least skimmed through a lot of this. I truly suggest you at least check out this spreadsheet because it shows literally 139 players' worth of data, so your favorite player is likely on this. It also shows some things I didn’t bring up because this is already an essay, like each role at Tokyo and player comparisons. In general, I really like posts like these and hope to see more of them as Tokyo is happening as statistical analysis in Valorant is still very minimal, and this really basic post hopefully makes some people interested.
If you have any questions about literally anything on this post, from a singular player u want to know about to my methodology I’ll try to respond to comments.

2023.06.09 20:52 Tea_tree_2001 I destroyed someone's dignity by exposing his nude to our circle of friends. Now he knows about it and his relationship with his girlfriend is at stake because of me

Way back when we're 1st year during pandemic one of the subject required us to do a short film where in we have decided to stay in one of our classmate's house for about 3 days and 2 nights, on the first night nothing happened it was a normal night and all of us slept early that day because we are so tired that night, on the second night on the other hand is where the things got hitted up between this guy but at that time he has no girlfriend. We decided to watch a horror movie before sleeping by the way we slept next to each other along with others (ilI know we are like sardines that night. Midnight came and I was provoked by him when he started to hug me until me and this guy ended up touching each other's genitals. I know that it's really wrong and I regret it already, fast forward so we are now second year (actually approaching third year) but let's say it's still part of second year in college because we haven't ended the SY anyways, One time after the final exams we have decided to gather and drink in one of my classmates apartment where in that night I got so drunk I spilled the unspeakable. I Wouldn't have spoken about it if I wasn't pressured because one of my groupmate on film making was there and he suddenly brought that topic because he said all of our groupmates are actually bothered that night, when we thought they were sound asleep actually they were not pala btw that night when we are drinking 2 of our seniors are also there, so continue even though I was drunk that night I told all the people who where present that night that the words that I have been spoken should remain only in that appartment in order to not get things messy. Which is what happened now because someonefrom our circle leaked out the information to other people that person spread it to someone and that someone told it to the guy now things are out of my control and I don't know what to do I apologized to him upfront the moment he brought it out. Yes I was wrong because I exposed his nude to them(but I didn't send it I let them see it on my phone) I don't know what to do I am betrayed and this causes me another trust issues I actually experienced panic attack earlier and I can't sleep right now. His gf actually reached out to me and it's another story to tell next time. To the guy, I'm really sorry I'm sorry I destroyed your dignity.

2023.06.09 16:25 Gear4Vegito Taking a look at the Blue Jays AA Pitching Staff and other notes about Blue Jays SP prospects.

There has been a lot of talk recently about the lack of SP depth at AAA so I thought it would be a good time to dig deeper then that and highlight some names in AA (and lower) that might not be as far away as some would think. The AA rotation deserves a bit of a spotlight with the performances of some of the pitchers there.
There has been a lot of criticism of the organization drafting and developing of pitching prospects (much being very fair) but we really might now be seeing some of the results coming through.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have excluded a few guys who are years away from making a real impact who are below AA but I will make some notes on them. Brandon Barriera (#2 Prospect) in A-Ball is looking very good and is being brought along slowly after his injury so has pitched just 13.1 IP. Dahian Santos (#12 Prospect) in A-Ball might be the biggest sleeper pitcher in the organization. His fastball-slider combination is electric but is extremely raw overall as a pitcher. He is learning a changeup and is gaining muscle fast in order to take the next step in the organization. CJ Van Eyk (N/R Prospect) still has the raw tools to be a good pitcher but has pitched just 7.0 IP over the last two seasons and is on the IL again.
Adam Macko, Yosver Zulueta, Hayden Juenger & Hagen Danner are honesty still very talented pitchers but all seem destined to be relief pitchers at this point in their development. This post focuses more on pitchers who have good odds of remaining as SP. Don't sleep on these guys though, they all have electric bullpen arms and might see some of them in our bullpen come next season.
In terms of the 2022 draft it is of course much too early but there are some really interesting names and notes: Ryan Jennings (Round 4) who can throw 99 mph as a reliever and that seemed like his career path BUT has had surprisingly good results as an SP at the moment in A-Ball. Insane fastball-slider combo but needs a third pitch. Mason Fluharty (Round 5) has been tearing through the minors and is already in AA as a reliever. Unique but effective cutter-slider combo. Rocking a sweet 1.25 ERA & 0.83 WHIP this season. T.J. Brock (Round 6) dominated A+ in 20 IP to a tune of 1.77 ERA and is already in AA. Electric fastball-slider combo. Devereaux Harrison (9th Round) is an SP turned RP turned SP again in A+ with a 2.63 ERA. He struggled with his control as an RP but it has vastly improved as a starter.
Ian Churchill (Round 10), Pat Gallagher (Round 11), Nolan Perry (Round 12), Bo Bonds (Round 13) & Ryan Chasse (Round 17) are the others pitchers from the draft class but they are just getting things started but all look fine-to-good in small sample sizes in Rookie or Low A. The early returns on this draft class are really positive and probably deserve a spotlight post on its own.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats Rotation:
Ricky Tiedemann (Age 20):
We have all read dozens upon dozens of articles on this guy. There really isn't too much to say on Ricky. He has missed most of the season due to injury. He really is as good as advertised though with top of the rotation potential. His injury likely pushes he debut back until mid-way next year at best. He still needs to refine his control and get a little deeper into game. Be excited though, I do think his injury has killed a lot of the excitement people had in following the AA team which does still have an excellent staff...
Adam Kloffenstein (Age 22):
Probably the biggest story from the Blue Jays minor leagues this year. A prospect who was once deemed a steal at his draft position who quickly become one of the better valued prospects in our system to falling off the map in 3 years and likely on his last chance to be a starter has become one of the most stable pitchers in the entire organization. A former power pitcher came into the year losing some mph on his velocity in order to get some proper control and it has paid off for him.
He leads the entire Eastern League in strikeouts & is second in innings pitched behind only a pitcher turning 27 this year. This season he has gone 5.0 IP+ in 8 straight starts now of which half have been a QS. He has allowed 0 ER or 1 ER in 7-of-10 starts. The Blue Jays in recent years have struggled developing pitchers who can pitch deep into games; coming into this season 6 of the 10 pitchers on the Blue Jays Top 30 list are very likely or already on their way to becoming RP; Zulueta, Macko, Juenger, Danner, Hernandez & Carter.
His strikeouts are up, his walks are down, his HR allowed are down, his BABIP is reasonable and his FIP is in range of ERA. He ranks near the top of the league in most statistics and only turns 23 later this year. He has been very consistent on top of everything. This is looking like a real breakthrough rather than a fluke.
The concern with him moving forward include avoiding losing much more velocity or he needs even more improved location to compensate as well trying to develop a third above average pitch as he currently heavily sticks with his effective two pitch combo. The Blue Jays will likely keep him in AA so he can continue to build confidence after 3 years of struggles but a run in AAA and becoming Major League starter depth next season is very much in play if he keeps it up.
He will very likely be added to the 40-Man this off-season with the team lacking SP depth there.
Paxton Schultz (Age 25):
As I was writing this Schultz actually had his AAA debut; pitching 5.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2 BB & 6 SO in an excellent debut.
Schultz was not actually a Blue Jays draft pick...he was acquired from MIL as a PTBNL for Blue Jays legend Derek Fisher. May have won the trade all these years later. He has always been considered a "low-ceiling" prospect and always put together solid but unspectacular seasons which meant he never really caught the eye of scouts. This year he kind of has put everything together and went from career minor league player to someone who could be that 6th to 8th starter depth we have been really needing in the minors. He doesn't have overpowering stuff by any means but he is really smart and does not allow very much hard contact.
His numbers have been great across the board. Career bests in pretty much everything and has improved in his consistency from years past. He has allowed less than 2 ER in 8-of-10 AA starts. He has actually been a tad unlucky this season as well rocking a BABIP higher than his used to. He also tends to avoid very much disaster starters; in his career of 55 starts he has allowed 5 runs just 3 times (never more) and over the last 2 years has pitched under 4 innings just 3 times. Pretty much an ideal from a #5/#6 starter.
All this has earned him a promotion to AAA now where if he keeps up the same level of consistency he very likely works his way into becoming the teams 6th starter and likely finds himself on the 40-Man roster. If an injury occurs to the rotation Schultz might be the guy to fill in.
Sem Robberse (Age 21):
Don't let the ERA fool you, he has had a much better season than that would suggest. At quick glance his WHIP and OBA are some of the best in the league. Most of the damage coming from an increase in HR allowed this season which is something he is trying to work on. Otherwise his numbers are on par with or better than they have before.
He is considered by many to be the smartest pitcher in the organization. He spent most of COVID studying pitching sequencing and strategies needed for a pitcher. Dude has zero ego to his game and embraces being taught which makes him loved in the organization. Robberse is one of the prospects that we will see play for the Blue Jays one day, whether it will be as a mid-rotation pitcher or as the odd spot stater remains to be see. Probably the "safest" starting prospect in the organization.
He has 5 pitches with his slider and curve be his good ones and throws some decent heat at 92 mph+ but one of his goals is too increase that. He was at 185 lbs last season and is aiming to get over 200 in hopes of increasing his velocity as well as help with his durability although he is already a rather good innings eater being behind Koff.
His major concern is when he does lose control he starts getting hit very hard...which doesn't happen all too often but something he is trying to cut back on. There is a legit claim for him to be the organizations #2 pitching prospect.
Chad Dallas (Age 22):
This is the dude to be excited about and his seemly quick and easy transition into AA which is considered to be the hardest jump for a pitcher in the minors is only more reasons to be excited. In his 5 A+ starts he allowed just 6 ER in 26.2 IP...4 of those 6 came in a single bad start 4.2 IP...he dominated with easy in his other 4 starts which earned him the quick promotion. He loves to just pound the zone and go after hitters.
It is easy to see where his success comes from. Having 4 pitches all very decent including a nasty, nasty slider...a very good curveball, a fastball that touches 95 mph and a changeup he is working on heavily. His control is what really hurt him last year but he has for the most part vastly improved in the matter.
His AA debuts was one of the best I have seen: 7.0 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 BB & 9 SO. Since then he had three more starts; one where he lost his command in struggled and another 2 dominating outings where he has allowed 1 total ER in 11.0 IP. There was a lot of "bullpen" risk when he was drafted but he put a lot of that to rest with having no trouble hitting 5-7 IP constantly this season. In his 9 starts he has gone 5.0 IP in 7 of them with the other two falling short (4.1 / 4.2 ) due to struggles not stamina.
He does struggle against LHP hitters and it is something to monitor. His two big outlier blunder starts this season were with lineups that were lefty heavy. Which is the main reason for him wanting to improve his changeup. His cutter and curveball are killer against RHH but don't have the same effect on LHH.
If he does not rocket up prospect boards this season then I have no idea what scouts are looking for anymore.
Trenton Wallace (Age 24):
He hasn't pitched in AA yet but was the one who got the call-up to replace Shultz. He is on the older side but was just drafted in 2021. Has caught the attention of scouts with his performance in A+ but AA will be the big test for him. Cruised through A+ with a 1.79 ERA / 3.20 FIP / 4.18 xFIP with an elite WHIP of 0.82 and 0.155 OBA. There is a good chance we are talking about him a long with the rest of the successful AA pitchers in month time.. A mid- 90's fastball and mesmerizing slider is what gets the job done for him. 5 of his 8 starts he allowed exactly 0 ER including an outing where he thew 5 perfect innings.
He is looking like a massive steal being drafted in the 11th round of the 2021 draft.
The other name in AA are Jimmy Robbins (Age 25); he was very solid last season in between A+/AA but was a tad over-age and now in his full season in AA has lost the strike-zone and is averaging 6.65 BB/9 which has lead to a ERA of 5.40. Even with his success last season; never really caught the eyes of scouts and wasn't protected in the Rule 5 draft even though some fans argued he should. Seems to have been the right call.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tiedemann - Kloffenstein - Robberse - Dallas (+Wallace) might be the best rotation we have had in a single level of the minors in a very long time. All are no older than 22 as well so even with some bumps in the road they have time on their hands. All 4 are going to be very exciting to monitor. Paxton Schultz is also worth watching as he might have leap frogged his way right into the 6th SP role with other options in AAA falling apart or being converted to relievers.
Our upper minors pitching depth has been a big concern to fans but they depth coming from AA and below might soon change that.
Who wouldn't want a future rotation of King Kloff, The Pitching Dutchman, Cheese & Ricky Titty?!?

2023.06.09 15:26 Seshat_the_Scribe Writer exploiting other writers

Here's a horrible example of a writer trying to exploit another writer:
I have a development deal currently in place with a prominent production company for a screenplay about the life of Lisa del Giocondo.
You would not share in the money from that development deal however you would share screenwriting credits and proceeds upon the sale of screenplay.
PAY ONLY WHEN SCREENPLAY IS SOLD.
Must be available to work at least 2 days weekly from 7:00 AM until 2:00 PM at my apartment at Crescent Heights and Romaine Street - one block south of Santa Monica Blvd.
NO Zoom.
NO FaceTime.
Even though I was paid to develop the screenplay, the sale is in fact, not guaranteed. PAY ONLY WHEN SOLD.

Lisa del Giocondo = the subject of the "Mona Lisa," so no life rights are involved.
No idea whether the primary writer is a WGA member and/or being paid by a signatory, but "prominent production company" suggests this is a possibility.
Someone want to apply and find out?
(This isn't necessarily a "scam," but that seemed like the best tag to use....)

2023.06.09 08:08 Scraggy_ Any advice for taking care of old sax pads?

I got my saxophone secondhand off of Craigslist about a year ago in pretty good condition, and I've been trying my best to keep it in decent shape (regularly using key oil, powder paper + bringing it into the music store to get tuned up) but the keys have always made noise, and I'm thinking that its because the pads might be old. The pads make a loud noise when they close, and I've looked the instrument over and I'm almost positive that noise is only coming from the pads closing. Does anyone have any advice for maintaining the pads, and possibly getting rid of the noise without taking the pads off? I won't be able to get the sax professionally repaired for a while, and I don't trust myself to take the saxophone apart to repair it.

2023.06.08 23:34 Adventurous-Stop7891 Looking to move Landlord said pets are not allowed above restaurants.

Hi! (IL) I work in a coffee shop and the apartment above is for lease. The landlord showed us around and we asked about pets and if they were allowed. He seems unsure and got back to us later saying cats are not allowed. To clarify, I own a rabbit not a cat. He has own this building and rented it for at least the 3.5 years I’ve been employed below, he also leases the coffee shop to our company. Any who my question is does anyone know if this is true? Are pets not allowed above restaurant living? If he didn’t seem unsure I wouldn’t question it. He said the apartment was all mine and a few days later he says no pets. I just want to clarify that I will be fine without this apartment just a little weird how he is handling this in my opinion. I tried to look this up but I am not finding anything
